OK. This is really strange.
I just reflashed again and now my storage card is called "Mounted Volume".

Crap. Now when I reflash, there is no SD card found.

Wellllllll, not so bad. My Tierman autoinstaller didn't work, but once everything finished booting up I got my Storage Card visible again.

The only little bitty issue I'm having is with the messaging item for Today Screen. It use to have a scroll icon at the right and I could see text messages, missed calls, voicemails, and email. Now All I have there is email.

I know this is a picky little thing, but it was really helpful to me. Anyone know how I could get it back ?

Task Manager for Apache WM6.1 Kitchen

I can't find the "Running Programs" tab under "Memory" anymore.

I also saw that the HTC Task Manager 2.0 doesn't working properly with 6.1, either (still no way to access the Settings, and still seems to lock-up the OS occasionally).

"dotFred" isn't easily accessible when I need it.

What should I use for a Task Manager/Close Button that works perfectly with 6.1?

Not possitive, but I think there is now a program or setting called Task Manager. Under mine I have 2 in fact, and one does not work, and it's icon is a setting prefference document type of icon, and the other is a monitor looking icon with a wave running over it. That one works for me.

i'm using wk task with no problems at all. also running quick menu. they both seem to do well. although quick menu is less of a task manager.

the monitor looking one is the windows task manager. it does work , unfortunately it doesn't change how the x button works. most aftermarket task managers do. they also give you easier access to running apps and whatnot

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Please help. I'm an idiot.
The main reason I flashed my phone an additional three times today was because the first flash gave me no audio when the phone rang (I couldn't hear any ringtones, no matter what I did). They symptom is that when I try to change phone settings, I can't tap close/OK to make the changes stick.

On this most recent flash, everything looked good and I've reinstalled everything working perfectly. And now I realize that the original malady is back.

Is there any way to get rid of this phonepad? I've tried to install a few different ones using some older CABs- they look like they work, but whenever I tap Hide Keypad, I see the original pad (this seems to happen only with TouchDual pad). And I still can't change settings or hear anything.
Please.

Might it be possible to backup, reflash and restore everything EXCEPT the phonepad/data?

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

GGuru, comparing bytes to bytes this is what i have:
OEM should be 49,810,846 I have 34,604,032
6.1 should be 31,418,523 I have 24,268,800
only shareware is correct, should have and do have 8,424,838

I got those same number all three times i downloaded it.

For HTC Home and HHC it does not install everything twice. HHC does not contain anything that is the same as HTC Home. By the way, HHC is huge and will fill an apache rom way too fast. I would suggest installing the cab version for apache users.

Now, if you selected the color HTC icons, you will have a bunch of duplicate files. We are looking into alternative ways to deal with this.
Thanks Colonel... I was running off memory when I responded...
