I also saw that the HTC Task Manager 2.0 doesn't working properly with 6.1, either (still no way to access the Settings, and still seems to lock-up the OS occasionally).

"dotFred" isn't easily accessible when I need it.

What should I use for a Task Manager/Close Button that works perfectly with 6.1?
Not possitive, but I think there is now a program or setting called Task Manager. Under mine I have 2 in fact, and one does not work, and it's icon is a setting prefference document type of icon, and the other is a monitor looking icon with a wave running over it. That one works for me.

the monitor looking one is the windows task manager. it does work , unfortunately it doesn't change how the x button works. most aftermarket task managers do. they also give you easier access to running apps and whatnot

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Please help. I'm an idiot.
The main reason I flashed my phone an additional three times today was because the first flash gave me no audio when the phone rang (I couldn't hear any ringtones, no matter what I did). They symptom is that when I try to change phone settings, I can't tap close/OK to make the changes stick.

On this most recent flash, everything looked good and I've reinstalled everything working perfectly. And now I realize that the original malady is back.

Is there any way to get rid of this phonepad? I've tried to install a few different ones using some older CABs- they look like they work, but whenever I tap Hide Keypad, I see the original pad (this seems to happen only with TouchDual pad). And I still can't change settings or hear anything.
Please.

Might it be possible to backup, reflash and restore everything EXCEPT the phonepad/data?

I'm also having this issue. I'm going to try to install another dailpad ontop of the ROM one and see what happens.

EDIT ADD: That didn't work

Have you tried any of the other dialers? That may help narrow down the problem. The touch dual dialer was pulled from a GSM phone and is still "experimental".

i'm using wk task with no problems at all. also running quick menu. they both seem to do well. although quick menu is less of a task manager.

Same here whether the page is selected from Start..settings..system..memory or called from another program (magic button).

I noticed an OEM in the new kitchen called "running programs link" under "Task Managers", but I don't think this is the same.

EDIT 03/15: I think this is by design. In the start menu..settings, system tab, there is a rudimentary task manager which performs the same functions as the "running programs" tab on wm6.0. And looking at the very first post here, the pic of the "memory" page is also missing the tab.

Anyone else have this issue?

Also, HTC audio manager does not load. An error msg pops up complaining about "one ofits components can't be found" or it is not "signed with a trusted certificate".

The 6.0 kitchen did not have this issue.

If it is a hassle to fix, I just might re-flash without it. Mort and GS player are better, anyway.

Thanks again to the team!

I was looking at start menu..settings..system menu and there is a rudimentary "task manager" prog which does exactly what the missing tab under "memory" did on the 6.0 kitchen.

So maybe this is by design in the new 6.1 kitchen?

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Hi again. when Build status states that:
"Compiled Size (0x3ea0000) greater than Max Rom Size (0x38e5800).
Remove 0x5ba800 bytes."
How much really is that? 800? 5800?

Also before when it was running, Build Status said a few times :
package "name of program" does not contain .rgu file "some Guid type number.rgu"
Does that mean the OEM for those app needs fixin?

EDIT: OK I see those OEM didnt have an rgu file to begin with so forget that question.

0x5ba800 = 6,006,784

the calculator in Accessories does hexadecimal to decimal conversions
