While I don't see what difference that would make, are you saying I should make IE my default browser, so that a non-browser app can contact your servers?

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Hi,
I have been reading the forums here quite a bit, and am trying to figure out the best way to get my Sprint PPC6700 upgraded to the latest WM6.1 version.

I have downloaded the BuildOS from PPCKitchen.org
Ran the Updater and when given the option to choose the update files, I selected the Helmi kitchen files, and the Generic OEM kitchen files in addition to the ones selected by default. Is this what I need or is there anything else that I missed?
What are installed with this package? Is there a list of software that comes with this upgrade?
Also, is the phone going to be able to install other software after I install this? How about connecting to Exchange, as I use this phone to connect to my work mail...

My company also implements security restrictions on the phone (like a Pin Lock tool), so would this work with the upgrade?

sorry for so many questions, but any input here is much appreciated, as I would like to upgrade this very much if I can, instead of getting another phone...

I have the same issue with Windows Live not working at all - It worked in 6.1 on a previous build, but doesn't work at all on this build.

No, I'm saying run IE once. It doesn't need to be the default browser.

That's a common problem w/ 6700. No idea how to fix it. It's been around since WM5 days.

Use total commmander and surf to windows/programs and delete the icon. Not exactly the same as uninstalling but accomplishes basically the same thing. Removing cooked programs will cause more trouble than it's worth.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Well, I finally decided to upgrade from WM6 to 6.1
took a few flashes reducing the size to get it to work.

My original reason to upgrade was that I was getting a certificate error when trying to run Garmin XT.

with 6.1 I still get the certificate error, and now have a couple more:

Live messenger wont allow me to set up to log in and as a result I can't get my live push e-mail.
Tried going into e-mail to set up live, and it tells me there are auto settings but nothing ever gets set up.

Does anyone have any sort of fix for these?

Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308

Just installed the new rom with one small issue. I upgraded from helmi's last wm6 rom and for some reason whenever I try to recover my contacts using PIM Backup (same thing I used to back them up) it gives me a list of the same amount of contacts I have, all names showing "Unknown" and no numbers.

Also, Is there anyway I can go back to the original layout of text messages and not this conversation layout?
