Question WModem "COM OPEN ERROR"

when I open wmodem and click start it says "COM OPEN ERROR" I did a search and found that its recommended to use internet sharing, but with that activesync needs to be installed first. Is there any way to make this work? I use this frequently on many different computers so i cant be installing activestink on everything.

I fixed this, I was using COM8 for my bluetooth GPS so I changed it to COM6 and now im not getting the error. It now works again. yay!

How has Windows Live been working for everyone else? I have had consistent problems syncing from the Today Screen.
Anyone else?

Hey, Torx - Did you ever wait about 10 minutes or so to determine if it was really "locked-up" or just "stoopidly slooow"?

See the correct answer in the other thread you posted the same question in (with pic).

Now you install .Net 2.x from Microsoft. Install all the service packs too.
