I checked this morning to see if Embarq had release any new ROMs to deal with the daylight savings time change. Nope, nada, zero, zip; now that's great customer support . Sprints 'offical' ROMs would not work as I would get the dreaded country code error.

Anyhow, I did some googeling, came across PPCGeeks and started reading up about the various choices one has (choice is good). Download WM6 AKU 0.7 Kitchen and dove in head first.

Now, I thought maybe that the Sprint Ext. Rom/setting would be the correct choice during my first attempt at a ROM build/install but to be safe I did a generic build and had to use the 'No UUID' (not sure I am remembering the correct terminology) to skirt the country code error. This worked great but I had no data connection. I then tried the Sprint selection in the Kitchen and it now have data connection and an awesome 'new' phone .

I can't say thanks enough for everyones effort!!
Embarq just resales Sprint service......

Report a bug:
I am not sure if there is anybody reported it already. It seems there short one or two 0409 MUI files, it caused to short several boot screen frames.

I've seen this when a custom dialer has been installed and then uninstalled through remove programs. Not sure if you've done that, but if you have, you'll need to reinstall the dialer, or hard reset.

I'm experiencing a similar problem. The last kitchen build I flashed went fine, until I hit the phone key. There was no dialer skin, and it locked up. I installed the big button dialer cab and it "fixed" the problem, but this has been a problem with the last couple of WM6 kitchens. I don't like the touch dialer so I replace it anyway, but I found the hard way that you can't use any dialers as an OEM with the WM6. Just my results, and I'm trying again tonight with a fresh flash.

Day 5 update and issue report:

1) This morning the phone's activesync seemed to delete my partnership with my Vista PC (I also had this happen a few times with my previous 3.5 kitchen). The exchange ota is still set up, but as soon as I undocked it I checked the phone's activesync and the desktop was gone. I then hit the sync softbutton and nothing happened, so I soft reset and now it syncs again (but the desktop is still gone).

2) Activesync exchange (ota) is not syncing when the PPC is docked. I know that it used to do this with the verizon 2.2 ROM and I think with at least some of the previous 3.x kitchens (but I'm pretty sure it had trouble with the last 3.5 I used).

3) Battery seemed better the other day, but I'm still monitoring it.

4) I tried to copy a couple dozen mp3 (~5mb each) to the SD card via windows explorer and it died after the 1st file. Perhaps this is when my missing desktop from item 1 happened...

I am having issues using the device lock. When the phone is soft-booted and there is a message or reminder that appears once the boot is done after you type the password it take ~1-2 minutes to unlock. Once unlocked and messages are erased it will work fine.

Is there any hope for getting the hotmail bug fixed in this kitchen? I am able enter my account info, but it takes me directly to windows live instead of prompting for my password and downloading my email?

Is your music/videos stored on your storage card? Mine are. I am wondering if it is a buffering issue with WMP (starting the audio/video before buffering).

Anyone else have this issue and know a fix for it (besides using a different media player)?
Ditto... I only get this on this kitchen. I've run the original Helmi release and the "Cleaned" version by Rob, and neither of those had the issue for me.

sounds like the trial sd card tweaks aren't working out. It is trying to read more than it can. I'll post a fix tonight.
