I'm sure everybody has a noob story from when they started ... first time I built a ROM for my Diamond, my computer overheated and shut down in the middle of flashing to my phone! I thought I was gonna pee my pants! I got on here right away, freaking out, and people responded right away. They told me to stop, take a breath and put it in bootloader. I don't freak out on errors or issues anymore because you can most likely recover from it.

Deimoss and rawdikrik are right, though. Run the kitchen as is once or twice before you start making too many changes.

Familiarize yourself with the structure.
Open up the EXT's and see how they are put together. Compare them to cabs you may have.

Build a ROM from within the kitchen.
Dont add or take away anything.

Just... get a feel for the way it works.
That's exactly what I just did and no dice! I have the Rar files still so I deleted the kitchen and sys, oem and all that other stuff I had open! I then unrar'd everything again so I can start fresh!

I used the 23559 that meatgel mentioned.......just dropped the folders in the root of the kitchen...... along with the ext and oem folders (so I'm using the 23559 sys and rom folders and the icey oem and ext folders)! Without doing anything in the kitchen other than clicking the 6.5 aku box and the device drop box to get the device ID and all in there I click on create rom and it goes for a couple seconds than gives me those messages!

Never says anything about an error but at the same time never goes further than that! I still have the kitchen open and it still hasn't did anything yet past that message.....so yeah, I'll just play around with it till something happens!

I did google searches for the ROMHdr. and timebomb fix without finding anything helpful.....but I do appreciate everyone trying to help me now!

Gonna fool around with it for a minute!

Anyone got a link to just Icey's kitchen? I managed to piece one together from the list of links in post 8106, but the kitchen would crash and I had to copy a couple files from calk's regular kitchen.

I built a ROM using 23559 and it boots up ok, but I don't have settings in my start menu - so I can't change the notification preferences, for example. Anyone else having the same issue or am I just missing something simple? I used the manila optimized version

FINALLY..........................................

..............figured out what was wrong! I guess I need a payload file AND a romhdr file because this kitchen doesn't come with one (correct me if I'm wrong please, and if so where do I find it @?) so I just took one from another kitchen and BAM........it started working! The whole thing went through but I haven't loaded it onto the phone to see if it works so I'll do that next!

Thanks to everyone!

Heh actually that was the same problem I was having, and the same files I copied from calk's original kitchen.

Edit: Re-cooked with the non-manila optimized version of 23559. Still no settings link though

Where do I find the download links for the Custom ROMS? I think something is frozen where the different ROM builds are listed. I have been trying for 30 minutes.
