Re: [ Kitchen ][ 2-8 ][ v1.51 ][ 23529 / 21891 / 21056 ] Calkulin's Visual WVGA Kitch
Calk, my prayers will be with you and your family. God bless!
Guys I got a noob type question but Im hoping I can get a simple answer. I love the battery life and free RAM I get with the SPB shell, its been awesome. Now when I'm making a build in the kitchen, since I am disabling the manila during normal use and solely relying on the shell for use, does it matter what Manila I use in the kitchen at all? Or would my battery life and free ram more likely depend on the sys build I use? I've used the 21891 and it was good, the 21056 was better and now I will try the 23529 version and see what happens. So basically my question is this.....if Im disabling the manila from the Today settings and only using the SPB shell, does it even matter what manila Im using? Also one more ....>Can I use the 6.1 EXT while building with 23529 SYS and XIP? or would that not help anything? Last edited by reigndropz; 02-08-2010 at 10:41 PM. |

FYI, I put the new version of the Microsoft Facebook app into and EXT for cooking. This app has some nice improvements and additions. The only negative is the vertical scroll is slow, but you can see/make comments and other nice features. Plus it has an exit command on the menu for you 6.5.x people
reigndropz, You don't need any manila version if you are using Mobile Shell. Just deselect all the manila versions and options and cook. Last edited by Chuck_IV; 02-08-2010 at 10:44 PM. |

Thanks Chuck. So as far as free ram and battery life, which one of these sys and xip builds did you like best? |

I am currently running 23529, which seems pretty good so far, with a 6.5.x build. |

Any word on the tmail lockup bug? I've been running a different 6.5.x rom for a while now with no ill effect - so it's gotta be something with this kitchen. I want to build another ROM here but it's pointless if the alarm won't work and tmail locks up every other text...

Re: [ Kitchen ][ 2-8 ][ v1.51 ][ 23529 / 21891 / 21056 ] Calkulin's Visual WVGA Kitch
I haven't noticed anything amiss with this kitchen. I built a 23529 rom after getting frustrated at the minor problems with the prebuilt Calkulin rom I was using posted in the rom thread.
Most importantly the text messaging is the way I like it, fast and hasn't frozen up on me yet. Also, I was able to put the transcriber in and enable it. Will run this one for a while I'd suppose! THANKS Calkulin!! |

I'm running a 23529 build and have NOT had any issues with tmail...
been running 6.5.3 builds for the past couple of months and have not had any issues with lock up in texts, or email
