Great speed in wifi and... maybe ... stable gps bus.

so you have verizon and you were able to use the new sprint radio that came with their 6.5 update? what improvements are u noticing?

and how are the bluetooth transfer rates? i know when i used the newest verizon radio i noticed the bluetooth transfer rates were sluggish and the radio seemed to make the battery die out alot faster from my experience

are u noticing any better battery life, and good bluetooth transfer rates? im on the stock verizon 6.1 radio on mighty rom sense 2.1

I flashed new Sprint radio while on a custom rom - if I flash another custom rom, this new radio should still be intact - is this right and thanks.

ok to make this clear. to flash my SPRINT tp2 to the new 2.32 radio i HAVE to have it security unlocked. AND it will NOT delete all the data on my phone when i flash it. right?:scratch:

funny you ask that cause i just flashed it to my phone about 2 hours ago. Nothing noticeable yet. Same signal strength and data speeds so far. Will do more testing over the next day.

Custom ROMs only flash the OS part of the device. The radio stays untouched.

Stock ROMs normally include everything necessary to make your phone act as if it just left the factory, including OS, boot splash, sub-splash, radio, and a few more things I can't remember.

Well Poopers!! My phone is now stuck on 0% updating. I am guessing that is not a good thing. What happens if I unplug it and restart it?

Edit - Ok, my bad...I didn't have the hspl unlocked. Biting my nails about doing this. Sigh....here we go!

Double Edit - Ok, I followed all the directions, downloaded HSPL, Turned off antivirus (temporarily) HSPL flashed my phone (scary) - Ran the Radio Update - It worked. Lawzy - I was scared - something about that expesive of a phone turning into a paperweight. Never doubted ya'll - just my phone...and myself. Thanks!!

so a redio cab is used for switchin carriers with tha same phone?

i reported my TP2 stolen and they going to send me another 1 n 2-3 days,,but i found it now, but now that my new TP2 is on its way can i still have the 1 that i reported stolen and made a claim against turned back on after tha claim ? thinking of giving it to my girl...thanks for yr help :)

What? Are you seriously asking that? In what way is that not stealing?

Just call US Cellular and tell them that you found your phone and ask them what they want you to do. My guess is that they'll send you a box to ship it back to them. You can't use it, since it's been reported as stolen. Nobody will be able to activate it, so you can't sell it either. I suppose if you want to keep it as a PDA and not use it as a phone it would work.

no such thing as a radio cab. the radio has to be flashed like a rom. changing the radio does not change carrier.

well since i can't get service back on it threw us cellular , but i could flash tha ROM and Radio to Sprint and then it could be activated? but u miss my first question. the whole purpose to flasin the Radio is if u wanted to go from 1 carrier to another with tha same phone?

so what is a RADIO ? i mean i understand what a ROM is diff custom versions of say "WM6.5" .
and "Provisions" is a .cab with yr carrier's MMS settings . and HSPL to unlock yr phone..and yes i have read n read about Radio's and still nothing.

You don't get it. When you turn in a phone as stolen, the IMEI is banned. It can't be activated on ANY network. It's stealing because it's technically insurance fraud; i.e. lying to insurance to get another device.

OK the radio it the software that allows the device to communicate with the towers; in other words it's the actual "phone." Each radio has subtle differences in how it communicates/connects. So you'll get a better signal with some, and with others you'll have better battery life; sometimes you'll have faster data connection. It really depends on your location as well as the radio.

2)Merdins_Windows_Phone_Innovation_v1.5_01-18-2010m2.5(2)..i think this ROM includes Provisions for my carrier.
3)imnuts USC ArcSoft MMS 5.2.12.45 20100204.cab..

if tha ROM includes my carrier Provisions then will i still need #3 ?

if you are going with manila 2.5, definitely not that rom. I would go with a much more popular rom to start out with. One that is known to be very solid. And if you don't like a rom, then it's simple to just flash a different one. Carrier provisioning does not install Arcsoft, so yea, you'll need #3, unless the chef specifically says otherwise on the first page of his thread.

you can flash any of the radios in the first post. you only have to be security unlocked for the one that says "must be security unlocked", right next to it.

I think GPS performance of tp2 was not increased.
Position is good , cold boot nice but speed of the bus is really low so TomTom and Igo 8 give you a late position than real.
With TT is not possible run but Igo is quietly better.
Every changes in settings are used.
So sad

i already switched back to verizon radio. The call quality was horrible at my job where i only get 1 bar, but it was fine with the verizon radio. Battery life seemed pretty good though. I don't use bluetooth.

if you tried to put a gsm radio on your phone, you'd permanently brick it. any of the radios in the first post will work like the stock one.

Sorry if I didn't make my question clear in my first post. What I meant was if I flashed to custom rom and any of those CDMA radios, would I need to do anything as far as GSM radio goes? like i stated, I want to be able to still use the phone in europe with a sim card. I was just wondering whether the CDMA radios already include the GSM ones or not.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but from you said, the gsm portion is already included in those stock cdma radios. Correct?
