i assume i am security unlocked right? i am using a vodaphone sim card in india like i mentioned earlier....just ensuring and hoping not to brick....btw thats how i got the phone here in india off ebay...ready to use on any indian mobile operator (cdma or gsm) so i am not sure if it is security unlocked...lol

you are probably just sim unlocked, not security unlocked, so you can use all, except the one that says "must be security unlocked"

I try every radio i post before i pack it to upload.

Every radio here is personally tested by me.

Its too early to say how well it works.

Might be just me, but it seems when I flash a radio of any network, I do a PRL update via *228 - Option 2 (is this recommended every radio flash?) and it changes it to a different PRL. Kind of like each radio has a preferred PRL? Might be just me, though! :scratch:

2.35wv not worth flashing in the charlotte nc area.... the newest sprint seems to be the best for me in this region

Thanks. I live in the Albany, NY area. I'll post results in a few days.

Update: After a few days of using this, I really didn't see any difference between this and the newest Sprint radio. Battery life overall was similar as well as signal strength. I decided to just stick with the Sprint radio.

Before I flash a radio I just want to make sure that I'm correct in doing it. I have my TP2 unlocked so that I can flash custom roms. I didn't unlock the radio, so can I flash say the verizon radio, or do I need to do the radio unlock program before I can flash radios?

correct. you only need to be hardspl unlocked to flash the radios in the first post (except for 1.40, you need to be security unlocked)

Cool thanks, was just worried about bricking my phone. My current radio is sprints 2.32.00WF. Just not sure if I should try changing my PRL first, to see if that will help with reception at my house.

they are both simple to do and only take a minute to do. if you dont like the change then it only takes a minute to undo. are you unclear of the steps?

I'm guess just download on computer and run the file, like flashing a custom rom. I'm just wondering since sprint has a WF in the radio and verizon has WV, does that matter?

I think I was using 2.32 or something and I get a ton of delayed text msgs and not sure if upgrading to another radio would help.

Tried the 2.35 VZW radio.. didn't see any improvement here in northern NJ, saw a bit of a drop actually.. Going back to VZW 2.23

Your profile says AT&T so i'm guessing you have a gsm at&t tilt2, so you're in the wrong section of this forum. This is the CDMA touch pro2 section, so these radio will brick your gsm tilt2.
if you have a cdma tp2, the following applies.
if you have a WU radio, that means you flashed one of the unlocked radios which give you the ability to use gsm carriers in the US. The WU radios are located here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106571
The WF and WV radios are just the normal radios that have been pulled from all the different tp2's and are in the first post of this thread. You can flash any of them, but you will lose the ability to use gsm carriers in the US.

no ..no connection issuse any longer hahaha at 1st hell yea..but just stick through with the reading and an answer will show up....but im just tyring to see if theres a radio that will give me maximum coverage or something with no single bars ect hehehe

Hi Everyone... I just thought I would share my input.. I am a customer of AirFire Wireless (Formerly Einstein PCS)... It is a GSM provider in Wisconsin... Seeing as almost all of us customers live in the same region, I thought I would share my findings so far... I tried the Sprint 2.32, the 196WU, and the VZW 1.88.07wv... I have found that I get more bars by far with the VZW rom (area's I got 1 bar before, I now have 3-4).. I haven't seen how the battery is yet, but with the others my battery was draining fast anyways...

Anyone get their MMS working yet with it?

Just an FYI, I noticed one day I had an issue where calendar appointments kept being off by an hour or more depending on where they originated in the US. Checking my settings I keep getting flipped to Mountain timezone which is not accurate for Arizona. Since we never change, sometimes we are in sync with Pacific and sometimes we are in sync with Mountain. After trying several different ROMs thinking it was related to that I realized this started right about the time I flashed the Verizon 2.35 radio. I then found this which seems to corroborate that theory since the MR2 updates comes with that radio:

I'm now switching back to 2.23 and will report back if it goes away.

doubt it, but it's worth a try. it only takes a minute to flash a radio, so i'd go for it.

Quick question...Someone said that a Sprint radio on a VZW phone solved the GPS lag problems, Is it possable to flash a Sprint radio to a VZW phone without bricking it or damaging my VZW service ?

yea, you can flash any of the radios in the first post (except for 1.40), as long as you're hardspl unlocked.

You have to be security unlocked and hardspl unlocked to flash the 1.40 radio.
