Just a quick follow up, would all the GSM radios that come with these radios be different in how they would perform overseas? Or they should be similar?

not sure. you would have to read through the posts and see if anyone has reported differences in the gsm performance. i don't recall seeing any reports on this.

ok .. i did a ROM Flash and installed my MMS cab and my Radio...had eveything working but forgot to do a Hard Reset after tha ROM Flash... so i did .. just wondering if i need to reinstall tha MMS / Radio again ?

mms is a cab that you install, so yes. the radio is flashed, so no. when you do a hard reset, it reflashes the rom and erases anything you've installed. custom roms don't have a radio, so when you flash those, your radio remains the same. The stock Shipped roms have the radio, so when you flash those, the radio is replaced.

You could have answered this question for yourself. Go to settings and click on Device Information and look at the radio version you have installed. Or you could have attempted to send an MMS and seen that you couldn't even create one. Or you could have gone to Remove Programs to see that nothing was installed. Just some info for future reference for you..

WOW I was worried that i was gonna mess my phone up because nobdy has ever explained what a radio does or why anyone would want to change one... I figured it was just software to help my phone communicate with the towers nearby. I decided to give it a try because every since I got the new sprint rom 6.5 my phone keeps switching to 1x instead of ev so i flashed SPCS 2.32.00WF Mirror and it hasnt done that once! Thanks a lot I really needed this! I wish I could click the thanks button a million times!

2.32 is the radio that is in the new sprint rom, so when you flashed the sprint rom, you got the 2.32 radio. So, you didn't do anything by flashing the 2.32 radio, since you already had it. You will want to go back to the radio you had before flashing the new sprint rom, which is 1.96.

it's different for everyone because of variables. what's best for you might be worst for me. just flash one and try it out a few days. then move on to the next one till you're done testing all 9. then you can make the best pick for you.

they are not for sprint. that just means it came from a sprint tp2. all 9 of the radios work on our phone.

quick question (a noob one ).... i m on sprint and i am using express dusk rom 6.5.x. sprint 2.32.00wf radio... i sometimes have drop call where i live... now i m [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]security[/COLOR][/COLOR] unlocked but is radio unlock different thing ?? what about sim unlock ? as i've understood, i don need sim locker unless i wanna use my device on gsm network... as i m on sprint but wanna try verizon radio what do i have to do ??? use radio unlocker and then flash any verizon radio ??? please explain this to me guys..... thanks

you only have to be hard spl unlocked to flash these radios (except for the 1.40 one)

You saved me a reflash.. the radio in above link got me stuck in bootloader mode.. downloaded yours.. installed it.. and works great on my Sprint TP2 :)

Can I brick my phone? I mean, if i upload a ROM on my RW device that is not for rhodiumW specificly, it will be TOTALLY Unreverse?

And if i upload a ROM that is not compatible with my carriers Radio, the phone will brick it? again, That will be TOTALLY Unreverse?

By TOTALLY Unreverse i mean, i backup the Stock Carriers ROM, i cant reverse the bad things that can\will happend to me if i upload to the device This Backuped ROM?

irreversible bricks only happen when you flash a wrong radio rom or a wrong spl. (like flashing a gsm radio or spl on to a cdma phone)
you can flash wrong custom OS roms and fix it by entering bootloader and flashing a proper OS rom.
which model phone do you have? is it a RHOD400 or RHOD500?

Anyone from LA been doing any testing? I came back from LA to NJ and my 1.96 sprint radio is alot worse here, but I hadn't ever changed radios on my TP 2 when I was in LA like I did on my one, so i plan to start experimenting again when I get the chance.

sorry, i meant to ask, which radio is the best one for verizon in ohio....i just sim and cid unlokced as well. so ideally i'd like to download a radio that will allow me to use at&t sim card as well....how about vzw 2.32?

I need some serious help, so I did everything, to the best of my knowledge did not rush and I am also a Computer oriented guy with certifications etc. I was trying to flash my HTC Touch pro 2 to a new more useful ROM (CookiesHometab?) , realized first I had to unlock my phone, downloaded the file which looked like it was flashing my phone but it really didnt it just unlocked it and verified, ok good so far. After that I had my 160mb rom image, so again I backed up, ran the file flashed, and everything went ok except for when the phone went to restart, it now stays stuck at the HTC Touch Pro 2 screen with no way to get out, I need help, a hard reset is not fixing anything as I expected to start over, is there any way to install the original ROM from verizon I have that already on my computer? I am new at this so sorry i will try and check this forum but I am better reached at by email foreverinPanama@gmail.com

not sure why you're posting in the radio thread, but here's what you need to do. put the phone into bootloader mode (while phone is off, hold send, end, vol down. then connect to computer and open the verizon stock rom.

i am in india and i am using the energy rom on GSM (tho my phone is CDMA..so i flash the latest cdma roms) with no problem so far.
to the best of my knowledge the radio is stock...how can i check my radio no? is it in bootloader?
sorry noob question,but am sure that one of the gurus here can help :-)

I was considering a radio update if it will help.
Sometimes i dont get very good network in certain areas tho my wifes phone (nokia..n same operator) in the same area gets full network :-(
and i hate the fact that she calls my amazing TP2 a piece of crap in these akward moments :-)
can any one advise which radio i can upgrade to?
would appreciate any help on the matter.
