I use an exchange account and MyPhone. Just don't check the contacts box in the syncing options for the exchange account and you can use MyPhone.

Same here, that's what I do, except now that his contacts are in Exchange, if he unchecks it I'm not sure they will stay on the phone. I tried to do this with my calendar, it was initially syncing in myphone, then I unchecked it to sync with Exchange, but when I tried to go back to myphone it was blank!

Re: |CDMA Rhodium|¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.- 'Energy' |Jun 11| 21905|23569 | MaxSense / Sense 201

First, just wanted to say thanks to everybody for the great help, and especially to NRGZ28.

I will be heading on vacation in a few days and was wondering if anybody knows if a Sprint phone will work in the Bahamas, and if it does, if the data connection is considered roaming there. If it is roaming, I want to know how to disable my data connection completely. I remember seeing a disable data cab file mentioned, but is that what I need? (ie. does it toggle, or does it just kill data alltogether?) Can someone point me to the cab if it's what i need?

Thanks in Advance!

Ahh, guess I didn't see the whole story here. I would probably use PIM backup and then delete my exchange account and start over not syncing with exchange for contacts. Once you do the restore with PIM backup you can sync to MyPhone and voila! Hopefully.

That does sound like a good workaround, as I've always synced my contacts with MyPhone and only my tasks, calendar(now ), and Email with Exchange. Then when he goes to setup his exchange again, do it manually and be sure to not sync your contacts. Let us know how it goes.

Your phone will probably work if you have GSM enabled, but I was there 2 years ago and don't recall CDMA working... I was in Nassau... if you are in Freeport, closer to the states, maybe a shot CDMA works though I doubt it...you can turn off data right in the comm mgr, no need for a cab unless you really want to be thorough...

Thanks, but if I go into comm manager and disable, about 5 seconds after it re-enables on it's own. Any other way to do this?

I checked the documents list for this thread and don't see the disable data cab file anywhere...
