I'm pretty happy with this ROM, seems more stable and faster than R6, which was last version I tried.

Anyway, I was thrilled to discover, by accident, that Swype was built in as an onscreen keyboard option. For me it's by far the best way to enter text without opening the h/w keyboard. I was hoping that if it was built in, it wouldn't corrupt the ringtones, the problem I've found whenever I've run the Swype cab on other ROMs.

Anyway, and just FYI (because no other ROM does it better and it probably can't be fixed) using Swype on this version of Energy also corrupts the ringtones. Oh well -- it is a phone, so we need a phone that rings than a super-cool way to enter text!

Here's hoping that someday someone figures out the underlying cause of the corrupt ringtones caused by Swype, Opera 10 beta and a few other programs...

I've used swype since Juicy R7 and now NRGZ ROMS and ringtones work fine for me.

Yeah, I don't have any ROM installed yet, but I like to look at the newest latest and greatest, and I already looked at 15pgs of just the Jan 20th ROM.

These pages need to be cleaned after so many ROM updates. If 10 new ones are posted, chances are, that no one is using a Dec ROM, or prob even an early Jan ROM.

There really is no need for 715pgs. This is something that obviously makes people go...

If we are talking 15pgs and counting after one update, this thing will be up to 1,000 pages for no reason. It just makes things MUCH easier to look at. There should be some kind of cut off to where they start fresh. Maybe updates after a month are gone, and a new one starts in February. Or maybe after X amount of updates it gets a clean start.

We have posts that state Oct 25th ROM release, and a post date of 10-30-09. OCTOBER POSTS? Really? Highly doubt any of those are necessary.

I think it is time to CLEAN HOUSE.

Hey im using the new jan 20 23518 max manila. and i downloaded the htc messaging disabling cab. But that cab isnt perfect it does not have threaded messaging and says gsm at the end of every text. Iv gone through all the menus and even downloaded a rhodium settings cab to make sure it was set to threaded in the settings and it still does not thread and i dont like it the classic way. does anyone know any cab thats better for disabling htc messaging? or know how to fix those things?

NOT TRUE. Even after deleting old texts before the install, it continues sending and recieving sms in standard format and even adding 'GSM' at the end. I STAND CORRECTED.

Can anyone comment on whether or not the new Jan 20 ROM has the weather demo option on the home screen or weather tab? It was there on Dec 31, but taken out on Jan 14. I want it back.

Corrupted Ring Tones, MMS doesn't work even with the fixes, keyboard keys are wrong (":" is "/" and the "/" is ":" on my keyboard).

I'm going back to Silence ROM until this gets fixed. I love the NRG Roms look and all, but Silence has worked straight out the box with no tweaks.

mms is easy to fix...for sprint anyway...u just need the correct settings. For the keyboard just look through the attachments for this thread for the keyboardfix cab.
