I have the same issue, My phone is from Telus. When I have Stock Rom my speed test was 2.5 mbps, when I install a Custom Rom, my speed reports 450 kbps...

same here....flashed back to stock and was pulling off 1300kbps(SPRINT)
and im lucky if i even hit 600kbps now on this rom....any info juicy?

I figured it out. I had turbo mode enabled on Opera. Disabling this resulted in an accurate speed test. Alternatively, using IE worked as well.

Please let me know if you can repeat my findings as I changed a lot of settings at once. PM me if you still cannot get near 1000kbs so I can give you some other steps that I have taken to see if we can isolate it.

OK... I can't find an answer or figure this one out... I just installed a new toy called shootme... It uses the gsensor to turn you phone into a shotgun, a whip, a light saber, etc... I know it's silly, but sort of fun ... My problem is that when I shake the phone it turns on the screen lock so the application doesn't work as intended. If I move the phone to load the shotgun well the screen locks instead... How do I disable the gsensor from locking the screen

Are you using max manilla? There is an autolock setting in max manilla that automatically locks the phone when turned upside down. If you are using max manilla, bring up the settings and set autolock to "off". Thanks.

i was trying to see my speed 4 the 1st time on mobile speed test. as soon as i went 2 the site it did a test, i got like420. then towards the bottom it says sumthing like test 100kb or 500kb or 1mb or 2, which 1 am i supposed 2 test w/, using opera9.7 an dont think turbo is on? how should i test my speed? just curious cuz i never done it b4

I thought I read somewhere the best way to test internet speed is to tether to your computer and run those speed test using your computer instead of directly from your phone???

Ok ii just reflashed to r5 and now the myphone server is down hope it comes back up soon or ill have to wait till i get home and desktop sync again, crapppp.
