it does the same thing on Verizon, but that's not "receiving MMS" in my definition. The HTC app is not receiving it, you need to go to the WM default to actually receive it.

i hear you... if they can add landscape to 2.5, they should be able to put 2.1s sms into 2.5. that would be great. its much faster

Guy's I can't find the latest HTC Youtube cab anywhere, can someone please post it?

I tried reinstalling youtube with a TP1 cab - in an attempt to fix the sound issue - and it works but its very small on the screen (sound worked fine btw). I uninstalled it and now the original youtube app won't work either.

Can someone please post a cab for the youtube app??

I flashed the rom to see if Juicy added roaming options under network service. We'd have Auto A, Auto-B, roaming only for the touch pro. Has anybody gotten these options in the network service?

Nobody seems to answer this question on Mighty's and Juicy's post.

Also, Is there a cab out there that will use Outlook messaging by default and allow you to go to the outlook messaging when you click a favorite contact?

Alrighty folks, seriously there is no need to continue tell us that this rom is a deal breaker for you cuz of whatever not working for you. I am sorry if things don't work 100% for you, keep in mind this is TF2.5 which was in no way made for the TP2. I would highly consider it very ALPHA. So if you want something more stable, something that everything works 100% for you, then definitely go back to 2.1 and stop telling us what a deal breaker this is for you. If you aren't willing to make some changes to workaround things till someday they hopefully get ported properly, then you really need to stick with stuff that works out of the box.

Again, I am sorry things don't work for you. But it just gets real old hearing you guys complain about the same things over and over, when it is a known fact that it is in testing.

Good luck, and hopefully 2.5 will be ported more in the future and you can try again.

Haleiejehaahhajauahha!

I think what he refers to is after getting it working the workarounds of having to goto the inbox, swipe and click new etc. Instead of being able to do it natively. I understand this, but it is something I am willing to live with for all the other great features of 2.5. Of course, it is much easier going into Album to send a picture or doing it right after you take the picture. But again, think he refers to receiving them as well.

~John

Yes, see my post here for screen shots. Receiving in Manila 2.5 is very easy, it's the sending that is the hard part. I've been able to get it to "send" from Manila, as in it says sent successfully, but it is not ever actually received.

For receiving you need the following settings in Manila:

IP Address: blank
Port number: 80
Server address: http://mms.sprintpcs.com (note: ignore the /servlets/mms at the end which a lot of people are saying. That may work too, but I flashed back to stock and took a look and they do not use it on the address)
Connect via: Sprint (assumes you completed provisioning, TELUS otherwise)
Send limit: 1024 KB (note: can be changed in registry, but doesn't matter yet as sending isn't working)
WAP version: none (note: this is key!!!! will not work on other WAP versions)

For sending I have found missing header items, and incorrect device identifiers, but I haven't worked it all out yet. I am leaning towards it being a configuration problem, and not a bug in the hard code. Personally, I receive an MMS here and there, but bascially never send them, so this works okay for me for now.

OK... just ran into this issue with sound. After a while, the sound stops working including ring on incoming calls. I notice it after i had 2 missing calls and the phone was right behind me on a desk. A soft reset fixed it for now.

Yes there is. People's varying perceptions. What you see as no lag another person sees as extreme lag, doesn't mean there is or isn't a lot of lag though.

In my experience this HTC messaging app could be a little snappier (especially with high text counts), but where its slow its reliably the same speed, and that is the key.

That looks sick. I started to try to do something myself but just haven't had the time to give it any serious effort. That will fill a big functionality hole in 2.5 ROMs IMO.

I didn't notice any lag either when I first flashed. The lag comes from having lots of messages in a convo. Manila SMS loads all the previous messages before it will allow you to click in the reply box and start typing a reply. Whether the lag bothers you are not has a great deal to do with how many messages are in the conversation you are trying to respond to as well as your level of patience.

I for one have a lot of messages (I communicate with several people almost purely through text) and little patience, so it was enough to drive me away.

I don't believe that is accurate. I don't have enough messages to confirm ATM though...things do slow down considerably while it is loading however.

What I've found is that when it starts loading, slide out the keyboard.. that completes the loading and you can begin typing.. either on the keyboard or just slide back and use the on-screen.

For Sprint MMS. I threw together a CAB with the edits. For the life of me couldn't get it to delete one edit so you still have to do 1 registry edit. But hope it helps those that find it hard navigating the Registry. Please note, I take no credit for any of this other than putting it in a CAB for you. Lots of others have put their heads together to figure this out, so the thanks should go to them. And this isn't to say possibly what some of the other CAB's posted will do, I have just found it to be spread out sometimes on how to accomplish. Hopefully this puts the instructions in one place for ya.

Step 1: Install newer ArcSoft, you can SoftReset after, or hit Cancel and wait till you install the next CAB and edit, because you probably will want to Reset after that.
http://www.ppcgeeks.com/forums/attac...9&d=1258480493

Step 2: Install my CAB posted below with the edits that everyone else has come up with.

Step 3: Since I can't figure out how to remove this entry and re-create it under the new name, the [-HKEY.... isn't working for some reason. Manually edit the registry and rename this key:
Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\ExternalAccounts]

Rename SMS to SMS.htc

Step 4: Soft Reset, and ideally all should be working for you. I have done a hard-reset and tested this to make sure it works on its own. Again, this works for me, it may not for you. And this is for Sprint, wouldn't think you would have to do too much to make it work for Verizon. But I don't have Verizon sorry.

As far as how to Send MMS, 2 ways, goto your EMAIL tab on TF3d, select INBOX. From there Slide to the Right to bring up the SMS/MMS tab. Click MENU - NEW - Picture Message. Note the old MMS won't work, it needs to be the Picture Message that ArcSoft added. From there you can fill it out like you normally would. The other way would be to goto your ALBUMS, select the picture you want to send, select Mail instead of Messages. And again select Picture Message. This should work as well when you take a picture. Just choose Mail and Picture Message.

Note: In testing today, it has been stated, and I have seen it as well that Sprint is slow on Delivery of MMS. I sent myself a test, and it was a good 5-10 mins before I got it back. Hopefully that clears. In the past I would send it and immediately get it back.

Hope it works out for ya!

bla, bla, bla, more mms hoops, i just sent 50 pics with no problems.

You seriously have issues man. People have bent over backwards trying to help you, cuz you are too damn lazy to use a computer to download to or grab the .7z Unzipper, people went out of their way to upload you a damn nbh. Then people have tried helping on numerous occasions to give you different ways to make what you need work. I am sorry you can't get it going buddy, but I mean really are you the type that just thrives off of ticking others off even those that try to help you? You should seriously seek counseling buddy! If you aren't going to use the ROM and you can't get things to work, what benefit is it to constantly post the same thing about it not working? And that you are leaving? I guess it sets your own mind at ease? I won't lose sleep over it, trust me!
