Anyone having problems on R4 contacts, like disappearing icons when u edit them?
Never had this issue on R2...

regulator207 11-24-2009 03:10 AM

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Windows Mobile; WCE; Opera Mobi/WMD-50255; U; en) Presto/2.4.13 Version/10.00)

birthday glitch is still present. where contact birthdays stored in outlook sync to this rom incorrectly. it continues to show them as being one day early. really am curious as to what is causing this error... anniversaries saved in outlook synced fine but all bdays are 1 day ahead in pocket outlook.

Do this to get the sms/mms showing:

Follow the instructions on page 256. Then open your
"Registry Editor"

HKLM\system\inbox\externalaccounts.

Rename the key "SMS" to "SMS.htc"

Exit and reset.

after softreset, after sprint carrier, homescreen wallpaper is set as the purple style.
twitter logs in 1st attempt.
quickgps auto downloaded.

I tend to believe a Stock Sprint ROM is better than Android. Nowhere in the ballpark for Juicy's ROMs! :)

Has anyone noticed an improvement in the quality of stereo bluetooth sound? I noticed the difference starting with R3 - there's much less of the typical bluetooth hiss.

If you install the arcsoft cab located in this thread and do the server settings for your carrier and adjust the size limits in your registry, it will work for sprint. Hope this helps. I can't get it to work with the included arcsoft that comes with this rom.

In R4... the keyboard sliding sounds are still mangled. Beeps are all we get testing the sounds, but nothing when the keyboard is opened.

Using R4 and these fixes worked for me also. able to send and receive MMS through native winmo messaging, not through the htc messaging app.

Also a side note, unable to hear anything through the youtube app, video plays fine just no audio, have to go through the youtube mobile site to check a video out.

I'm not sure I see any reason to update from my R3 setup at this time.

I am on Verizon, running Dusk theme & everything works perfectly.

http://i361.photobucket.com/albums/o...creen01-53.png

My SMS/MMS works great as does my Sirius & Sling Mobile etc etc.

Does anybody see any good reason I should move to R4 & redo thee whole system again?? I have a TON of customization, apps/programs installed etc. & it would take a while to redo it all, but if it's worth it I would probably do it anyway??

How I got MMS working on MY phone on R4, obviously everyone's results may vary. And I doubt step 1 is needed but I was trying to make stock work at first.

Step 1. Did the registry edit to add the SMS/MMS tab in the Email section:
Code:

HKLM\system\inbox\externalaccounts

Rename the key "SMS" to "SMS.htc"

Step 2. Enabled Editing of the MMS Server in the SMS/MMS Tab.
Code:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI

Change EnableServerEdit to Enabled (1)

Step 3. Install newer version of ArcSoft
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...9&d=1259024128

Step 4. Soft-Reset, and then go to your EMAIL tab, then INBOX, and slide to get to SMS/MMS. Tap MENU and then Pics/Video Options..., then CDMA Servers Tab, then Sample MMSC2. Make sure your Port is 80, and Server Address is: http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms, and then change the Connect Via: to Sprint.

That is all I changed and now you should have an option when sending under Email of Picture Message, NOT the MMS Option. You can also do the edits for increasing the size limit. I didn't have those edits handy, but are definately posted all over, just regedit, and same ArcSoft Section above.

Hope it helps, nothing new here, just thought I would sum it up after R4, others have done all the hard work for you.

None whatsoever. It looks exactly like R3 did and has a few more bugs from what I can tell.

I do appreciate Juicy's work on this though. I just don't think any of the updates he added did anything to address any of the stuff that didn't work before.

I think I might agree with you. I like how I have Max Manila set up and everything else has been working fine for me, so I'm hesitant to change. I don't know - perhaps I'll do a backup and then try R4 and if it's not too different for my use I'll flash back.

Boo. kind of disheartening.

I flashed the rom to see if Juicy added roaming options under network service. We'd have Auto A, Auto-B, roaming only for the touch pro. Has anybody gotten these options in the network service?

Go to htc tab settings and under sound and display, click notification sounds and enable them. That should do the trick.

If you download the newer version if arcsoft, you can skip steps 1 & 2. The app overides all those registry edits and makes them correct. Start at the server settings after and you will be good to go

Ya, hence why I said you could prob skip step 1, step 2 though I still had to unlock to be able to edit manually. The version of ArcSoft I used had Verizon as the default so I had to edit it. No doubt I could have done it via the Registry though. But all good, whatever makes it work.

You have to do this registry edit
Hkey local machine
SOFTWARE
ArcSoft
ArcSoft MMS UA
Config
mm1
MMSCSetting
Sample MMSC
WAP 1 receive and send change to 5120000
WAP 2 receive and send change to 5120000
repeat for the other MMSC's should be a sample 2 and a sprint one. You will be good to go!
