Heh, well I haven't had to flash more than once on any rom but, just giving the usual fixes from the past heh. But ya haven't had any issues with it starting up. Sorry.

what worked for me was installing the 5.1.22 version of arcsoft nad modify the setting and there it worked. But the one taken for the sprint rom was a no go

Now...questions...since the settings mentioned as the general fix for mms for Sprint when applied to CDMA settings while in WM messaging client works (for most)...why won't these settings work when entered in the HTC messaging app? Is that the million dollar question...and where can we start to find that reg entry...because most likely something simple but hidden right??

I'm pretty sure the HTC app is using Jataayu and the following registry keys need to be changed for Sprint & Verizon respectively:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\Messaging\MMS\ Profile\CDMA]
"Name"="Sprint"
"SendLimit"=dword:0000012C
"GUID"="{F079757F-9357-4000-8305-9CA6B9B6CAEC}"
"IPAddress"=""
"MMSCURL"="http://63.215.195.152/servlets/mms"
"ConnectionType"=dword:00000002
"Port"=dword:00000050
"Lock"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\MMS\Profiles]
"ActiveProfileCDMA"="Sprint"
"DefaultNetwork"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\MMS\Profiles\V erizon]
"Name"="Verizon"
"SendLimit"=dword:0000012C
"GUID"="{F079757F-9357-4000-8305-9CA6B9B6CAEC}"
"IPAddress"=""
"MMSCURL"="http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms"
"ConnectionType"=dword:00000002
"Port"=dword:00000050
"Lock"=dword:00000000

Having said that, the HTC messaging app is not kicking off a network connection. I did a hard reset & didn't establish any network connection. I immediately tried to send an MMS, and the data arrows did not start, which tells me that the MMS app isn't interfacing with the network at all. Arcsoft has a regkey that called ConnectionVia but I don't see a similar key in Jataayu.

I really do not want to beat a dead horse. This will be my only statement here on this issue. (Juicy has been hi-jacked enough by this). First and foremost Darren has helped a ton in this community, which is quite obvious from stats. Helped me on more than one occasion, even though he is a Pen fan!:protest:. But I think the lesson to be learned here is to read clearly. When Darren stated he was leaving to 2.1 nowhere did he mention "I am leaving this rom". He did say he was leaving 2.5. I know for a fact that he likes the rom a ton, he has told me more than once to give it a try. But I have not because I figured it was going to have issues, hence 2.5. I am happy with 2.1. Seems as though Cflynt you were defending the rom. I understand that, but in know way did he bash the rom. Just my 2 cents.

We all need to help each other at sometime or another. Lets move on now.:mrgreen:

I've never flashed ANY Rom more than once & it has never once caused me any problem.

That multiple flash hard reset stuff is absolute nonsense IMHO. Flashing 50 times in a row is exactly the same as flashing once IMHO.......

As mentioned, you would be surprised what a simple search would bring you, or even just reading a few pages back:

Is my fix, but it may or may not work for ya. Let us know if it does.

Thank you , Juicy. This r4 is just as great as r3. No complaints. Customize was def faster than r3. Loads of free memory. Everything feels so much faster on this one. No type of lag, but as always i performed the double hard reset after flashing. so if you seem to be having issues on the 1st flash give it a quick wipe (clear storage) and try try again.
thank you nate spangler . post #256 should be the standard right after customizing your phone.

What's in your .reg files? They should have a header of REGEDIT4 at the top like:

Code:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software......

That might fix ya up! Guessing you just have the reg entries only.

I agree. I've never flashed more than once, and have never bothered with a hard reset after flash, since a flash is a hard reset. I have however seen the flash fail just before it begins, usually because of some USB issue. The one time that happened it worked immediately the second try.

Yes you are in the right place. This is where I was working when I got it to send and say "MMS sent successfully", but without the recipient getting it. There are missing headers, you'll notice the MsgFlags are blank and the PredefinedPort is off, and if you look at the Content-Types headers there is only one listed, for video. I believe there should be a content type for all the possible MMS file types. There is a standard list published with the MMS spec. When I get some time over the holiday hopefully I'll be able to work this out and give you guys a holiday treat.

One question, you said you got logging enabled. I was only able to get logging from the WM app enabled, not the HTC app. (On second read I remembered I didn't soft reset after enabling logging, so that may be the issue.) It helped a bit, but I think the logging in the HTC app will help more, if you got it enabled please share :)

If it "freezes" when you slide it open it's probably because you hit a key or two on the keyboard in the process of sliding it and it is processing the tasks, give it a few moments and it will resolve itself. The only real knock hardware wise for me is that I so often hit the keyboard trying to slide it.

Ya, have played with some of those settings including Content-Types. Still goofing as I can, so surely sooner or later we will figure something out.

I learned early on when flashing, i think it was a Samsung A900 maybe earlier that sometimes flashes never worked 100%. I would sometimes have to flash 3 times before everything worked like it should. So, these newer phones might only require 1 flash, but i guess I'm ol' skool.

Just to jump to a fresh issue, does anyone have a mac and has gotten the wifi internet sharing to work with it? I have tried since R3 and have had no success! The mac will not see the htc network for internet and will only connect on a computer to computer network! Is there something I am supposed to be doing under the computer to computer connection or am I missing something else? I dont know how to use it as a usb modem also. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! I can confirm that it does work on a windows laptop and that it is working on a powerbook mac but I cannot get it to work on my G4 powerbook.

Manila 2.5 was designed for a keyboard-less device and therefore only supports landscape for pics and music within the Manila environment. It's been ported to the TP2. If you really need Manila to work in landscape look for a ROM running the older 2.1 flavour.

It also doesn't work on the iPhone. It's because Apple chose not to implement the full 802.11 spec.

The only workaround I know of is to get a real computer =D>

In all seriousness I didn't look too hard, but from what I know of the cause there is nothing that can be done for the iPhone (I'm sure Apple has new WiFi drivers just hanging around the app store somewhere LOL), but you may find something for your Mac. I forget what it's called but the TP2 is using a subset of 802.11 to act as a WiFi router, kind of like peer-to-peer networking, you need a configuration that supports this.

I set HKLM\SOFTWARE\Jataayu\MMS\SP\logging = 1 and then did a soft reset. My log files showed that it was trying to send to a blank address and port #.

I agree with everything you are saying but I think it's important to note that this program is not interacting with the network at all. In other words, if you turn off your data connection via comm manager (no data arrows at all at this point), and then try to send an MMS via this program you will notice the network connection doesn't get triggered. So even with the correct header settings and all that stuff, it still isn't working because it never actually sends any data over the network.
