AWESOME ROM Juicy! I just flashed from R2. SMS/MMS is not a big deal 4 me. i use it mostly as a phone, and to send texts here and there. it is fast, and I loaded my usuals, nothing fancy, like lumos, coreplayer, trapster, sprint nav, adv config. since max manilla is not supported, after tediously (like hours and hours) looking through all of the "goodies" maxmanilla brings to me, the only thing i cannot seem to come across that i liked (which I have not found and installed) is

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=1156

looks like i need maxTTM to get this in-and i certainly do not want to load anything xtra, if at all possible, and since others here figured out from the xda link how to get the 16/20 programs going, which is the other feature besides the different clocks i liked and have found and installed, can someone help me out and tell me how to get these tabs into my home screen like i had before i flashed to R4?

thanks...I LOVE this forum! sheesh, going to have to update my sig!

ON this R4 version I still get the "SMS MESSAGE SENT" Box. I tried the VZW disable sms sent, but it didnt work on this version for some reason. Does anyone have a cab that works for R4 to get rid of this annoying box?

THANKS AS ALWAYS!!!

Keep in mind when referring to 6.5.x you are referring to Windows Mobile, this rom runs 6.5.0. And when you refer to 2.x you refer to TF3d, which this is 2.5 aka Leo. When talking bout the changing weather that is part of SenseUI, which this has, but so do many of the 2.1 ROMS. And if you want a Program Tab on the home screen that is part of a 2.0 or 2.1 ROM. 2.5 does not have that. Instead you have quicklinks on the main page.

Not sure why you get that, pretty sure that is disabled by default. But regardless, here is a CAB posted from the Tips and Tricks section of the TP2 forum.

I kinda figured the quick links where what he was talking about as 2.1 (like Mighty ROM) doesn't really have programs on the home screen......(just call history & calendar)

One last question, since it does connect on a computer to computer network, how do I set it up to get online from there? What network settings do I use?

I agree with everything you are saying but I think it's important to note that this program is not interacting with the network at all. In other words, if you turn off your data connection via comm manager (no data arrows at all at this point), and then try to send an MMS via this program you will notice the network connection doesn't get triggered. So even with the correct header settings and all that stuff, it still isn't working because it never actually sends any data over the network.

Hey 8notime... I am watching your progress on this :-) I noticed the same thing when a worked with R3. Its like the HTC messaging app is "disconnected". It doesn’t trigger the phone like the native WM does. I got this far and didn't know where else to look. If you have the time, I would say take a look at how the manila 2.1 HTC messaging app works with the phone. The registry keys associated with getting it to work may be the key to getting the 2.5 HTC messaging client to work properly.

I'm not sure what you consider natively, but here is what I have to do to send an mms:

-From Text Messages Tab in Sense 2.5
-Hit menu softkey
-Hit new
-Hit menu softkey again, Insert > Picture/Video

And thats it. Thats what I remember having to do from regular manilla. Or I can:

-From All messages screen
-Menu softkey > New > MMS

And thats it.... Are you guys having to do other things? Attached are the exact two cabs I installed to get mms working to send and receive, no extra steps or reg edits required.

I am running Juicy R3... I'm not going to upgrade to R4 yet, I have no reason to so far. Everything is working perfect. Remember my exact setup also worked on NRG's Leo ROM (6.5.3) and Mighty's ROM (my wife's TP2). Again:

-install disable htc messaging, then mms fix, then soft reset

I looked...2.1 doesn't tell you much as it didn't have a built in MMS application.

do you see WM messaging client?? OR does it stay IN HTC's messaging client. That is the issue we are up against, and trying to make TF3D's messaging client to send out and deliver MMS properly. Think you have an "older" fix for the mms issue...which that second cab turns off HTC's messaging app entirely.

I understand the difference between the two. I am disabling manilla messaging..... It slows it down too much and I haven't gotten it to work, period.

Darren (+others) were having difficult getting even the WM messaging client to send MMS.

I have tried 80 and 8008, doesn't seem to matter, have not tried 8080 I must say, but not sure what port they are referring to, if it is the mms port or what.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the DefaultNetwork Selection. Will probably play more this weekend, on call this week heh so making sure that I don't interfere with alarms heh but I get them via email too heh.

just tried 8080....no joy...there are a couple of other regentries that might be so I'll keep trying...

I'm new to figuring out registries....so pls bear with me...whomever else might be working on this pls shed more light on this...and lets get this working

also...pls note that under the following:

Jataayu>>Messaging>>MMS>>Profile>>

there appears only a key for GSM...looking deeper in the tree...all the settings are there when you adjust your server settings FROM THE HTC MESSAGING APP.

is the CDMA settings completely missing from Jataayu??
can a whole set of regentries be added to enable MMS out of this messaging app??

OR...

am I barking up the wrong tree?

I am running the Juicy Rom R4 so far i have two problems. 1) the keyboard sliding sounds can not get to work. 2) I can not get the MMS to work can not send or receive MMS. Every thing else works great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If i can get these 2 problems solved this Rom will be the best. Also no sound when using You Tube even after soft boot hard boot of phone. Everytime i try to send MMS i get an "unable to send message"

The 8008 is actually a typo from whomever first started creating the MMS settings for the cooks, it's in a few ROMs. The real TMobile MMS port is 8080. For sprint, the port is 80, so PredefinedPort should read SprintPCS=80.

I had a hunch about the default network selection as well, it's a good place to look.

Ah yes, the messages.EN.cab message :) What it's saying is that the application threw an unhandled error, and it can't display that error to you as you don't have the messages cab installed. Basically, the developer of that software didn't test enough :) There is nothing wrong with your phone, and you have the full .NET 3.5, the app just doesn't work. Only developers (like me) actually install the messages cab so we can see these error messages during testing.

Good rom Juicy. Very fast, love the feel. Can't wait till landscape is perfected, but for now I just need to remind myself to select the app in portrait before I flip out the keyboard or learn how to read sideways :)

If you search my previous posts, you will find the fix for MMS using Verizon.

I'm not being a DB telling you to do this search (I'm not a search Nazi) but I don't remember all the settings from my head & there is also a reg entry that needs to be added for Verizon (MMS will NOT send without it)

If you can't find the info, I will post it later when I get home from work (I have it saved at home in my laptop).

i cant figure out how to do this either

ok this is what i have and what im trying to do: i have sprint, unlimited everything. my computer is a windows xp home edition. i want to use my phones data to access internet on my computer. which should i use phone/modem or wifi rounter? and the most important question is how do i do this??? i cant figure out how to set phone as modem, or set up a network/enable wifi on my xp home.

I use both, they both work great. To use the WiFi Router, simply open it up, and keep the default settings unless you choose a new network name (SSID) or wep passcode. activate it, then on your windows computer search for the network you just created (the default is "Touch Pro2" i think) and connect using the passcode. That's all there is to it!

It actually populates once you do an attempt, it seems to get the info from the Jataayu - MMS - Profile section. And even though it says GSM seems to work, but that is one of the things I have done is rename them to CDMA. And it still populates. So not sure, but ya there is no CDMA profiling in there, but that is all a name, as long as the rest works.

Ok, what tells it to use SprintPCS? I will rename it to see, and change it back to 80. I have turned on logging as well and see the same thing, No IP or Port used. Will see if that makes any difference.

Does anyone know truly what the User Agent stuff does, that of course is all diff from the Arcsoft entries. Didn't know if it had any bearing on how it knew to send out or not.

On the MMS note, don't remember if it was on R3 or R2, out of the box after provisioning the MMS seemed to send and tell you it worked when it didn't. And the notification was actually showing you the percentile of it sending. So wondering if with modifications it would have worked. I noticed with R4 it doesn't give that. Any ideas on that front?

Are you able to change your wallpaper? I couldn't after installing that cab...

I use both, they both work great. To use the WiFi Router, simply open it up, and keep the default settings unless you choose a new network name (SSID) or wep passcode. activate it, then on your windows computer search for the network you just created (the default is "Touch Pro2" i think) and connect using the passcode. That's all there is to it!

that what im not understanding. i think it more not understanding on the computer side. i dont know if it matters im on xp home but when i start wifi router on my phone then go to network connections i dont see my pro2? all i see is a local area connection.

how can i set up my xp to see my pro2 wifi? is there sumwhere i can read to setting up my computer network connections, im @ a loss, i have no idea how to set it up
thanks agian

Unless policies have changed, you want to be careful if you are expecting to use Sprint as your full time internet connection for your PC...you'll burn a lot more data surfing on the PC than on a handheld generally speaking, and you could theoretically get hit for over usage and/or have your data plan blocked... if you use wifi like I do, for occasional tethering when traveling to check email, read news, etc, you'll have no issues... if you are watching a lot of video, downloading music, etc, be careful...

Good point. I didn't think about that. It does allow you to view but not send from the 2.1 HTC messaging app.
