I can't get MMS to work through the Manilla tab (although SMS works fine)...but if I take a picture, and send it via sms/mms...it goes through fine. The problem is it goes though the "email" sms/mms MS server (not manilla), but it works...the same is true for pictures stored on my device; using the same method...the main issue is...I don;t get a notification?? even though it appears to be set up (still working that part)...my point of thei post is...It works out of the box for me this way, without any other mods...Just Juicy R3

I would like to 2nd the earlier poster that after uninstalling Arcsoft and all the other mods I'd done to get MMS working, mine works the way that it was installed after flashing. I can send by going into my pictures and sending a photo from there and when I receive one it can be retrieved by opening the mail tab, sliding over to the right to the windows sms/mms messaging tab. You have to click on the picture icon in the message to open it up. I hope these revelations save some of you all some time and trouble.

1 Attachment(s)
just upgraded to r3(from r2) and so far i can see that it runs smoother(especially weather animations). Havent tested it much yet but so far my complaints/suggestions:

1) keyboard sliding sound settings: all sounds are the same(no matter which i choose it just does double beep), when you actually slide open keyboard no sound is produced at all. Worked flawlessly in R2

2) YouTube app plays without a sound, but if i go through opera - sound works(worked in R2)

3) On power button hold the same old "would you like to turn off" message shows up, think everyone would appreciate the ShutXp instead. Workaround install ShutXp cab(file attached-works great on R3)

4) Opera has only 2 tabs enabled and turbo is off(on purpose?). Workaround: open Opera and type opera:config into address bar - user prefs - change amount of tabs and enable turbo

Other than that so far great ROM as always!!!

Any reg hack to lower the volume of the dialpad? I want sound but not a really loud sound to notify someone that I'm about to make a phone call.

Well I installed the R3 ROM and WOW!!!! Nice job....I am on VZW and everything seems to work fine but 1 question? After the flash, I skipped the carrier provisioning step and did a hard reset but now in my connection settings, it says Telus. Is that the generic carrier provision and how do I get the Verizon provisioning cab??? Thanks in advance!! Great Job Juicy!!!!

Please assist if you have the time.

Same here, mine also failed after three tries..:angry7:

I tried every single thing posted (spent over two hours fighting with it) & nothing worked for me (verizon). SMS worked fine through manila, but MMS failed every single time from either album or the WM default app.

I made sure all the server settings where correct (I know them by heart & I must have rechecked them 20 times). I added the arcsoft reg key someone posted etc etc etc etc

Absolutely NOTHING worked & I finally gave up & flashed back to Mighty & restored an SPB backup. Everything works perfectly now (MMS works right through manila etc) & the 2.1 setup is certainly faster than 2.5

I still like the 2.5 features & really want to run this ROM, but I really need MMS working.

Can somebody please itemize the exact steps from the flash on that enable MMS to work in VZ?? Do you use the built in provisioning or install a carrier later?? DO you install another arcsoft cab or is it all set after the R3 flash?? What do you do as far as setting the server info etc??

Should MMS work in a VZ setup right after the flash, or are the server settings all wrong etc??

I really want to try this ROM again tonight, so whatever help someone can give me will certainly be much appreciated....

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35541; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))

How much do you use MMS? I wouldnt consider it a dealbreaker. I havent even sent or recieved a mms since I got my new phone. Usually I get everything via email.

As opposed to others who compress in standard zip format, Juicy for some reason uses 7z extensions...just go to download.com and get a free 7z unzipper...then unzip to your desktop same as always...once done, go into the extracted folder and run the app same as always to begin the flash process...

Im in the same boat with you guys here. I really like this rom, however a basic function like MMS not working is also a dealbraker for me. I pay for an unlimited plan and would enjoy using it. No offense to Juicy, because the problem is not isolated to his rom. This is a problem we need to figure out in general.

I agree. we need to figure out how Manila 2.1 handles SMS/MMS and implement it in 2.5. In 2.1 the HTC messaging works with the native WM messaging tab. When you tap the message in touch flo it takes you to the windows app. It just works better in my opinion.

Maybe someone with a deeper knowledge of registry editing can take a look at 2.1's registry so we can make the same changes in 2.5

Juicy Great Rom. Much faster than what I expected. A few issues though"

1. Outlook birthdays sync incorrectly. My contacts now display each birthday one day prior to their actual bday. It's been mentioned before.

2. When i manually sync a contact with facebook, the lille facebook icon doesnt appear on their contact photo. It still sync's so it's not a big issue. Just doesnt verify that the contact has been linked to facebook.

3. I cant turn off haptic (vibrate) feedback with the onscreen keyboard. Anybody figure this out?

4. MMS through manila

Otherwise you have done an incredible job with this build of manila. I think most of my complaints are related to manila which may be out of your hands. Again, very good job.

Juicy I just switched to your ROM from Mighty both are good but this is a business phone and do not need all the fluff.

No that being said I have a big problem; this phone is hooked to to the exchange server and I get my phone directory from my Outlook contacts. All the phone numbers including local US ones have a "+1" in the beginning. Please look at the example below.

Exchange Contact:
+1(555) 555-5555

Phone Dials
0111 555 555 5555 --> Verizon says it can not recognized the number.

I do not want to change all my contact to take off the "+1" because I do travel overseas once in a while that is how contacts are downloaded into my Outlook Contacts.

I would really like to keep this ROM if we can address this problem with a cab. BTW I have no problems with the stock firmware.

Eer, what fluff is that??

Mighty's ROM is about as "fluff free" as any ROM ever.

My phone is also a business phone & that caused me to flash back to Mighty this morning. As much as I love this awesome ROM, there are just too many things that don't work right yet (MMS mainly) that work perfectly with Mighty's ROM & I need those basic functions in my everyday use.

They are working for me now but google has had known issues for random people going on two weeks now. I basically went all last week without push service, been working fine this week though. A search on twitter shows lots of users affected.

Re: [ROM] [15/11/09] Juicy Rhodium_W R3 [SENSE UI] [XDA_UC]

first off...what a work of art. Flashed last nite...spent some time customizing...and loading up the ROM with MY cabs. I'm still in the lower 50%s of RAM usage with all the bells and whistles ringing and blowing!! Battery life is awesome (so far) And the speed has been refreshing especially for a TF3D2.5 ROM! Thanks Juicy!

Ok...minor issue I have been trying to work thru...and coming up on a brick wall. I posted about it in the general TP2 section and didn't get much help...
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=96914

for those that don't want to read that short thread...I'll sum it up.
I can't, for the life of me, get custom ringtones set for my email/mms/sms. Tried to drop the sound files into /windows/rings; tried to rename the sound files in an effort to dupe the programming to think its a file its supposed to read; tried to convert my files from mp3 to wav. As of yet, nothing has worked. If someone here can pls shed some light on this...it would be much appreciated.

That has been happening on and off. I think it might have to do with Google contacts. GC was doubling up on contacts and contacts with the same name but diff info didn't merge...so issues came up. I went a couple of days manually backing up my contacts thru PIMbackup (still keep a copy of PIMbackup just in case)

Need some help from ROM gurus here:

1. Has 'Internet Sharing' via usb been removed? I dont see that anywhere in my phone. Maybe the icon has changed and I am just not able to "see" it. I am on the Juicy R3 Rom release of 11/15 on Sprint.

2. Also, if i manually try to alter the HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings\ForceCellConnec tion to 'Sprint' it keeps defaulting back to 'Phone as Modem'.

I am able to use ICS fine with the HTC wifi sharing app, but would rather use the USB based one.

Thanks.

Anyone getting an unable to initialize camera? Not enough memory..and asks if I want to stop some running programs. My RAM reads about 53% and I have no running programs at all.

I have 85MB to 88MB of free memory normally...

self help is always best...next is self medication...

the dusk rhodium dialer broke the camera function...so reloading all cabs one by one...duh!
