XDA_UC installs the cab files you want during the ROM installation process. It's very simple, create a folder on your SD card called XDA_UC

Throw in all the cabs, reg files, whatever, that you want installed and once you're done flashing, give it a few minutes and it will install all those files in the background. Check the start menu and you'll see them magically appear!

Yeah, whatever you want installed to your phone, throw the cabs into that folder and it will install automatically.

I'm not sure if this question has been answered or not yet,
but does R3 have the tethering fix for telus like the new MightyRom?

I talked with Juicy last night. His rom seems to be fine from what he says.

So hopefully that's the case :)

Re: [ROM] [15/11/09] Juicy Rhodium_W R3 [SENSE UI] [XDA_UC]

Hello everyone.

I installed the R3 ROM the other night and have been loving it thus far. I have tried R1 in the past but switched to nrg's leo to give that a go. I was eagerly awaiting this ROM when I heard of what was going to be in it and wanted to give it a try. I fully understand the limitations of wm 6.5 and Manila 2.5 and the working htc messaging seemed promising, until today.
I installed this ROM the night it was released and was really realy happy with it and was going to write a positive review of it today but ran into an issue as I was typing it up. I was playing txt tag with my girlfriend and well my phone just froze upon trying to reply and I actually had to remove the battery to get it to reset as it became totally unreponsive. Just a note these are regular SMS and not MMS. After rebooting the phone it would just crash again upon starting Manila and just freeze. This happened 3x and I eventually had to just leave the battery out for like 3 min and then it booted up fine. Upon booting up I deleted all my conversations and so far for the last hour its been reallly fine. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue. It reminded me of how other ROMs were when it came to msg'n thru HTC's client app, I was hoping it was resolved with this ROM. But wanted to know other's experiences before I came to my own conclusions. Is there a cab file I missed? Was I still supposed to disable the HTC client?

A list of installed apps and the order they were installed follows I did not use the XDA_UC feature as I wanted a controlled install:
*Fresh install* skipped the hardreset as I never hard reseted in the past :)
1 Max Manila 2.519202525 Ultimate - v2.5
2 HDWallS_v0.24b
2b My Wallpaper.cab
3 BiGnAdAd Change MaxManila Alert Icons
4 BiGnAdAd TransparentBottomCurtain
**BiGnAdAd BiGnAdAd RemoveTopCurtain&CarrierText** Did not install as I found it still breaks Manila on R3
5 nueBattery2TP2CDMA-122-v1.2-cab
6 m6 Taskbar WM6.5 Color V11c Vista
7 Color CDMA Fix
8 Contact_changer_v1.3
9 CorePlayer
10 Rescoexplorer
11 Su2u
12 Slide2ShutdownPowerKeySetup_v1.1

I still like this ROM very much. Its fast, has lots of free RAM even with all the cabs I have installed. Up till today It was really quick and responsive all the time even right after boot. I did appreciate how Juicy's ROM was a clean slate to play around with and after all of my customizations I pretty much had everything the way I wanted it. Thank you Juicy for a pretty solid ROM which left room for the ability for customization. I pretty much felt the speed was on par with NRG's LEO 23504 build and was really hoping for the Messaging to work because that was one thing that NRG was truly missing. The winmo client is just too much of a dinosaur to bring out whenever I need to txt.
Thanks guys

If you cannot get the 2.5 messaging to work... There is one .cab you can install that will disable HTC messaging. You have to search for it cause I don't feel like looking as I am already looking all over to figure out how to get the weather animations on all tabs working. Everything I have tried and it doesn't work.

But there is a cab called DisableHTCmessaging.cab, and it will allow you to bypass htc messaging and use arcsoft. MMS works just fine for me after that.

I am assuming its the Zenyee Disable HTC Messaging 1.2 cab. I am aware of its existence, I was just wondering if it was a necessity as I would really prefer to use the htc client :)

That is the exact name actually and I figured out how to post a .cab so here is the file.

NOW, I hope this is ok to post this cab, I have seen others post cabs before. I am in no way taking responsibility or credit for this cab, I did not make it nor have any part in its creation. The first word in the cab is the name of the creator and you can look him up by searching for this cab's exact name. Hope this helps.

It's a last resort if you cannot get 2.5 messaging to work. That way you don't have to go back to stock which is arcsoft mms anyways.

Re: [ROM] [15/11/09] Juicy Rhodium_W R3 [SENSE UI] [XDA_UC]

I'm curious...a 21876 M2.5 ROM I cooked in calk's gave me no problem sending VZW MMS through the winmo client (via the email, inbox, swipe method), yet other ROMs, including this, don't seem to be able to send MMS through the same method. That is ArcSoft v5.2.2.37. Would including that version of ArcSoft into this ROM solve anything, or is it much more complicated than my limited understanding of these things would lead me to believe?

Oh and if anyone has gotten weather animations on all tabs and/or backrounds on all tabs as well, maybe you can direct me into which exact cabs actually work for you/JuicyR3. The cabs I had only work for 2.1 I believe and everything I have searched for and tried just doesn't do anything.

Any info is much appreciated, thanks.

Hey yea thanks for the reply, and heres a solution to your problem.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=95858

doing that will allow you to use hdwalls. Unfortunately I was unable to get HDwalls to work on its own, and this will alter your startpage but in a good way because I do like using Max Manila as its grown on me. It will also give you 20 start page shortcuts rather than the stock 12.

All of the cabs are safe to install on that page except for the 3rd on which removes the Top Curtains, so avoid that one like the plague as it breaks the home page and the only way I was able to fix the home page after installing that perticular tab was to hard reset. Regarding HDwalls only new wallpapers encoded with extensions to work in Man 2.5 and winmo 6.5 will work, so all older wallpapers will not work. More information on HDwalls and how to easily create your own wallpaper can be found here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ghlight=hdwall

More information on Max Manila can be found here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...68&postcount=5

Order of install should be:
1 Max Manilaultimate 2.519202525 -reboot
2 HDwalls
3 Bottom Curtain remover (Use the one attached to the first link I posted) - reboot
4 Wallpaper of your choice - reboot

Thanks so so so much dude I so very much appreciate it. Just to ask but does making your own wallpaper allow you to use landscape on manila 2.5? Or is it still not working at this point in time. AND, do you have to have SDKcerts.cab install before you do any of this at all?

Those are all I need to know and would help the overall picture of what needs to be done in what order. Again thanks so so much.

unfortunately landscape still won't work, so you might as well not even bother making a landscape background. And nope I don't install the sdkcerts.cab.

That's the cool thing about XDA_UC. Click Start, then scroll down to the customize icon. Click that, and it will start loading everything in your XDA_UC folder!

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35541; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))

I had R2 and now R3 and i have to say this ROM is working great, very smooth and responsive, but I am unable to see photo albums from contacts i have linked with their facebook account. Not sure if this was a problem in R2. I can open their contact no problem and see al the info associated with their contact but when i click open photo album to see which photos they have on their profile it apparently doesnt download. Not sure if anyone has come across this, but any help would be appreciated.

Other than that this ROM is sweet, thanks juicy!!!!!

Reset again and it worked after tha

I only have xpshutdown thing installed and musicid, nothing else, everything is all juicy

Juicy Great Rom. Much faster than what I expected. A few issues though:

1. Outlook birthdays sync incorrectly. My contacts now display each birthday one day prior to their actual bday. It's been mentioned before.

2. When i manually sync a contact with facebook, the lillte facebook icon doesn't appear on their contact photo. It still sync's so it's not a big issue. Just doesn't verify that the contact has been linked to facebook.

3. I cant turn off haptic (vibrate) feedback with the onscreen keyboard. Anybody figure this out?

4. MMS through manila

Otherwise you have done an incredible job with this build of manila. I think most of my complaints are related to manila which may be out of your hands. Again, very good job.

5. After syncing a contact with facebook, the option to view their albums is available but does not show pictures when selected. It appears to try to load the images but just shows a placeholder with a red circle with a line through it.

6. Can't get my SMS (texts) to show as threaded in the default viewer (not manila) even when threaded is selected in settings --> system --> text messaging.

I'll keep updating this as long as I have this rom flashed. Thanks again for the hard work.

Hey guys, first post. I tried a couple of the other roms, and so far, this is my favorite (using R3), mainly because it doesn't have a weird background. One problem I'm having is with the keyboard. I opened Excel today and tried to use some of the symbols with the FN key, and the symbols didn't match up. For example, = was _ instead. \ didn't appear to have anything and would just give me a y. + was =, and the list goes on. Is there a cab, or a way for me to rebind the keys? Also, is there anyway for me to change the "Phone" soft-key to "Lock"? I know there is a program that will do it for TF3D, but I don't know if it works on this one (I haven't installed anything except MortPlayer). Thank you for any information, I really don't want to read through 200 pages of stuff.

Maybe someone with a deeper knowledge of registry editing can take a look at 2.1's registry so we can make the same changes in 2.5

That had nothing to do with the registry.... That was a manila script file that had been edited to make it point to the WM SMS.

I'm not sure if I can receive an MMS or not, I usually test this by sending an MMS to myself. Since this ROM cannot do that (I have spent the last two days trying to get it to send an MMS), I haven't really tested the receiving.

How did you get it to receive??

Hey Juicy I think the problem might be with the install version of Arcsoft, when you go to change your settings its greyed out and cannot be modify withount installing a new version of arcsoft and then there the conflict begins.

Instead of installing a new version, you can enable editing of servers by changing the key:
HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\EnableServerEdit
from 0 to 1

I made that regedit immediately after flashing, but it doesn't matter -it still won't send MMS even though I checked the server settings at least 10 times......

Well I dont know if this makes a difference but i didnt install the provision right away, i just used the generic. After that I activated the phone and update the PRL. Then I applied the provision by going into windows and finding file name juicy_provision.exe. Then I did what the one guy said about going into all messages>menu>settings>options>menu>MMS Server>SampleMMSC. In this I left the IP add. blank, changed the port number to 80 and changed the server address to http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms. Connect via Verizon Wireless and set the send limit to 1024kb and kept WAP to 2.0.

Like I said to be able to look at the pictures you have to click on mail tab>inbox>inbox drop down>SMS/MMS. Find the text that has the file in it, open it and click on the little picture.

This all worked for me. Let know how it goes for you..

OK can confirm it worked for me 2 pic messages now, all I did was a reg edit change and BAM there she blows
I forgot about enabling the edit pages........ had a extreme long weekend at the world final.
I know this is off topic but I am so stoked to say that: the MOnster kawasaski zx14r is finally doing its thing.
in the semi-final it clocked off an impressive 7:25sec at 206.14mph which was a record....
now back on topic

What kind of regedit? What did you change? You need to be more specific.
