Just as I began to give up hope, I've solved it....

will continue to test, and hold out hope for 21889 sys and a release of the rom... soon-ish

I'm sure it will be. R7 is working almost perfect for me after getting the BT stack from the new MR1 for Verizon. The only thing that's not working anymore is Youtube. So I appreciate you not releasing R8 til you find a fix for Youtube.

ive noticed the youtube app works perfect everytime if i go to youtube on opera and it will open the video in the app with sound everytime

I'm hoping that on Juicy's R8 .. the landscape mode would be 100% functional.

Also, if I may request ... please remove those top & bottom curtains please on the main screen .. I hate those lines, they make make screen look smaller.

Second, .. Please make the slider between program to program to be really smooth!!!
not trying to compare with iPhone, but .. would it be possible to make it as smooth as the iPhone?

always, whenever I received a text message, I can't never to swap from the previous one to the newest one without accidentally or .. should I say .. "since the system is so slow, when I slide the screen up .. it took me IN to the message instead."
Why is that?
Sometimes I hate my TP2 so much because it's very slow compare to my Treo 755p where everything works so smooth, but .. again.. it isn't as pretty as TP2.

Hey Juicy,

Will be "failure to ring bug" be fixed in R8??

I am dieing to switch back to these ROMs, but I had to go to a different ROM (after trying 4 versions of this one) to solve the ringer problem. I need a phone that rings 100% for incoming calls.

the iphone has a faster processor & will always work better in certain areas until we get WM phones with more powerful hardware.

I use my 2nd gen ipod touch for browsing occasionally & it will open safari & open a site like this one MUCH faster than waiting for Opera to load & then open this site.....

I know for a fact you must haved already been tru this post. Only reason im posting it here is cause it worked for me to fix my ringer problem. (Besides the ring and vibrate it also fixed the ring alone) Hope Works for you 2... :)

Might not be 110% what you expected/wanted but I use this and so far it works 100% for me. just need to do a quick fix in your regestry.

Unfortunately, did not work for me (I tried it in R7)

I actually missed the very next call that came in after running that cab because the phone failed to ring.

I finally gave up & switched to NRG Dusk & now my phone rings every time.

Jmorton10, the ringer problem is caused by an app you installed that does not play nice with this rom. Try removing any newer versions of Opera and your phone might ring again. I had the same problem that you are having. If the problem is not Opera, try removing other cabs until the phone rings again. Or reflash and add each cab on testing after each install.

If the ringer problem was built into the rom, there would be many more people complaining. I'm not sure why the problem happens on some phones, but I would guess the order we installed our cabs was different then most. Or the provisioning. Something. But I bet you will get your ringer working by removing cabs. Mine was a newer verison of Opera...

Oh yeah, THANKS to JUICY for the diligence in fixing the little isues. I'd rather wait a few weeks for an over-all improved cab rather then taking little baby steps every few days. It's your sh*t, so take your time and don't let us rush your rom. Take care!

I install exactly the same cabs in every ROM I have ever flashed back to my xv6800 days & they don't cause any problems.

The only Opera I installed was Mini 5 & I'm not doing without that.

I tried R4, R5, R6 & R7 & the phone didn't ring right with any of them.

I flashed to NRG Dusk at that point & haven't had one single problem so I am staying with that for now.

If/when R8 comes out & the ringer problem is 100% fixed I will try again, but I will wait a while & see how other people make out with it before I rush into it.

You know, I've always thought the purpose of a custom ROM is to improve upon the shipped stock ROM. For some reason lots of chefs like to include new stuff in their ROMS compromising functionality. Juicy's comment regarding not releasing R8 until he found a fix for the YouTube issue can only be commended.

do other people have this problem? i usually keep my phone on silent, but when i do have the ringer on i havent noticed any problems... it always seems to ring.

Not for me...ringer has worked flawlessly for me on every revision...I am however with Sprint, John is with Verizon

Hi All,

I have been using this awesome build from Juicy for over a week now. The only thing thats annoying to me is that I have contacts with photo's as the 3 shortcuts on the home screen. The pictures from one or more of the contacts fails to stay on the screen. (The photo shows everywhere else in the system - just missing from the home screen)
A SOFT reset fixes the problem for a while and it eventually returns... Any ideas?

Anyone running into this bug?


When I receive I text I go to reply. Sometimes my big thumb hits the onscreen keyboard and shows up, but at the same time I turning the phone to landscape mode to use the physical keyboard. When I do this the screen locks up and I cant even power it off or anything. I have to pull the battery and start my phone up.

Any ideas? or what I can look for?

ok here is the issue hc sense 2.5, manila2.5, whatever u call it has no landscape,
you have to be all the way in text to put it in lanscape, but you can back out preyty far........... Thats just how it is

Does anyone know how to completely shut off the gsensor so when I take it out of my holster and the magnet turns on my phone, it doesn't open in landscape because that is the way it is facing. Smae thing when the phone rings and I pull it out......That must be a way to shut this thing off completely?

When R8 comes out, test the ringer after you reflash. It will work. It is very easy to determine if its working or not as you and I both know. When it's broke, it's broke. For those that do not have this bug, when selecting a ringer, the phone normally plays the ringers as you go through them. With this bug, there is no sample ring played.

This time John, as you reinstall each cab, test the ringer prior to each cab you install. At least you will be able to tell which cab is breaking the ringer. Maybe this will help Juicy or another member so we can figure out what is happening to the ringer. My problem was Opera, and since you indicate you are married to Mini 5, that really could be the the troubled cab. Maybe installing it first or last could fix things...

I am on Sprint, so this bug is not carrier specific at least.

My audible ringer would work fine for the first few hours then all of a sudden it would stop. The only thing i have installed is Lotus Notes Traveler.

Mine actually worked for a couple weeks & then stopped.

At the time, I didn't remember changing anything on the system but the ringer may have been messed up for a few days & I just didn't notice it.
