if so i get this on occasion, but cant ever pin point the issue. think i read its actually a google error. i found if i leave it alone it will fix itself, maybe i did reboot w/out realizing that fixed it, i dunno. i remember at 1 point i thought it had something to do w\ turning off mail sync in comm manager even thou my active sync is set to sync as items arrive. maybe this was conflict?

just my thoughts but , sharkie, if its not a google error i would classify it similar to the mysterious kb backlight flicker.

It's not an Active sync problem. When I click on Send/Receive in Outlook on my phone, I sometimes get a Synchronizing message, which stays on for some time and nothing. I'm forced to reboot the phone. If I try again then, then there's no issue. I've kind of lived with having to reboot every day

I think I messed up with the wallpaper setting - (in fact, I know I messed up)

I seem to have a problem now not being able to view my screen in "landscape mode" anymore - meaning if I switch it horizontally - it will stay as if I was holding it vertically.

It will switch to landscape only if I pull out the keyboard.

I went to "set wallpaper" from soft key menu > set wallpaper.
I removed the previous .png file and one of the black wallpapers that you both had given, and also tried a soft reset - still no change

I am provided 3 options in the "Home Tab"
* Portrait 480x800 (not set)
* Wide Portrait 960x800 (not set)
* Landscape 800x480 (not set)

CHT Lockscreen Portrait 480x800 : not set

All Tabs : Portrait : 480x800 (not set)
Landscape 800x480 (not set)

Which one should I be putting that jpeg wallpaper to?

Also :

In Start > settings > today > Theme (sharkie is selected) and there is a check box for "use this picture as the background" -
Do we put the same wallpaper jpeg file to that too?

if you check the use picture box, then browse to find your wallpaper. This will set the wallpaper you chose for the start menu pages only.

Haven't used co0kie in a long time but this should be correct (others more versed will follow) I also left wallpapers in my sdcard in a wallpaper folder.

"home tab" will only set the home main screen.
"all tabs" will chage the remaining sense tabs.

If you want the same wallpaper for landscape you must select it too.

I just highlighted the all tabs because I liked everything gloss black throughout, clicked albums/storage card/scrolled to my wallpaper folder in sdcard (select) and scrolled down ad selected my gloss black wallpaper.

I still have no idea why my phone isn't going to landscape mode when turning the phone horizontally. It only stays vertical. If I slide the keyboard out, it will go to landscape mode.

Some things I noticed :

* Camera works in portrait and landscape without keyboard.
* Opera Browser works in portrait and landscape without keyboard

**** Sprint Navigation : only portrait and landscape only with keyboard. It will NOT switch automatically to landscape mode when turning the phone horizontally.

**** Home Page / Start Menu Pages (like sprint navigation) only work in portrait mode. Goes only to landscape if keyboard is pulled out.

**** Text Messages only able to be seen in portrait and landscape only when keyboard out too.

I tried the G-Sensor calibration. But that didn't help. Also Soft Reset and Power on/off.

What could be causing the phone to not switch to landscape automatically? It was working before - not sure if this was something that happened when I was changing the wallpaper.

There is not a way to make Sense auto rotate using Gsensor... I don't think anyway. I used to include an app called Flip_it, for that reason, but I soon came to believe that having most things auto rotate was more of a nuisance than a help. So I removed it from the ROM. The app allows you to set certain programs to auto rotate or not and also allows for rotation to specific angles only. I explained it a little bit in this post:

The cab is attached. Try it and you might like it. You'll have to play with it a bit and set it up to you do what you want and not do what you don't want. But once you get that set up, I think it could be useful to you.

So was that the problem in the 4th post from there? And by default, the sharkieROM won't allow auto-rotate in some of these applications or scenarios? Hopefully Sprint Navigation will work and haven't tried youtube...

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was saying. Sense cannot auto-rotate on it's own. Only the Photo and Music Tabs will auto-rotate to what it called "fake landscape" which is the cover flow look to them. You have to use a 3rd party apps if you want to set Sense and other programs that don't naturally auto-rotate to do so.

Oh and someone had mentioned having issues with finding wallpapers when looking from Settings\use this image for background or whatever checkbox. I too have this issue, and the only way I found to get them to show up in this peticular setting is to move them to the storage card. I'm not sure why it doesn't see the ones in My\Documents\My Wallpapers\etc...

So from the flip-it link you gave, I installed it - if I select "enable g-sensor" and add a program - will all the other applications that normally auto-rotated have to be adjusted? Opera was working before, but I see it in the list.

What is the executable file for sprint navigation? - So for this one for example, I check off enable G-Sensor, add program file, enter executable, and then select 180 degrees? Will it go back to portrait if I turn the phone vertically? And horizontally the other way? I think that's one of the few frequent applications I use horizontally and vertically in my hand when driving.

Also, it looks like the Home Screen switches without changing anything except, enabling G-Sensor on flip-it. Is there an executable for all the start menu pages / SMS? Is that manilla?
