I'm on VZW running the 6.5.X v2.0 ROM with CHT 2.0. The install and setup worked fine, and I'm having no troubles with the phone. And that's after making a bunch of modifications to skin everything with Dinik Anastasia, as well as installing a lot of apps. (My storage is at 85%.)

I flashed a ROM last weekend while looking into the animation thing, and I noticed (from within Advanced Config) the speed was set to about 30 for the boot animation. Maybe a higher number slows it down. Makes sense if you had it set to 1 and it was way too fast.

Hey Sharkie, the Sprint 6.5 2.0 ROM is great. Shows a lot of personal touchs but after installing all of my apps, I am down to about 30mb storage.

Anyway, I am gonna try out your 6.5.x 2.1 ROM and see what happens.

actually cant even say its my idea... when i would flash sprint lovers rom he used his thread as a bookmark, IMO a great idea (self promotion, flare, personalized touch) and i actually did find it useful and checked it regularly.

that twitter setup would also be great self promotion. dont worry bout not being 'big chef', wait who said you werent a "big chef" anyways.

Here's a cab that I think will work on the v2.0 and v2.1 ROMs to fix the Carrier Name. By that I mean that it will show the carrier name like in my screenshots a couple of post above this one.

I've only tested it on 6.5.X so 6.5 users let me know if it works. I've also only tested it out by installing the 3 included files to the \Windows folder on the phone and then by cooking them in the ROM. I've not tested this cab since the files are already in my ROM. So... let me know if it works.

while figuring the #s 'sweet spot' for the gif using advanced config i think i may of come across the grey input shifted to the right bug/glitch. this is w/ the mm task load on boot disabled and 1 test while sense is loading and another after sense has loaded. the reason i tried w/out and w/ sense loading was i thought it was caused by sense loading. so now i dont think its mm at all but something else...but maybe andvanced config.

my 1st try was while sense was still loading (i was impatient) opened advanced config. via start menu and then the grey input pops up while advanced loads. so after testing different speeds on the gif. i waited till sense loaded the 2nd time then loaded advance config and it still happened. so i dont think its related to strickly on reboots but a program? i dont know, thought i report it anyways since we have talked bout it and i noticed/remembered the cause this time around

Running 2.0 6.5 since launch. Only troubles so far :

1-Occasional reset when coming out of CHTeditor or re-launching sense after changing some tabs etc... this might be a CHT problem !!!!
2- Twitter tab stops scrolling , kinda weird. I can pull the page down but when i let go, it springs back down a couple tweets. anybody have this problem? flashing 2.1 now, will update if still persists.

Havent had any memory warnings yet and battery life is GREAT !!!

Good to see you again man! I was wondering about you the other day. I thought you had moved on cuz I wasn't giving you enough 6.5 love.

As far as your two issues...

I hadn't noticed those two issues yet. If they are in fact ROM issues they won't have been resolved with the release of 2.1. The only differences in 2.1 are what's stated in the Version 2.1 Change log. Not to mention I didn't release a 6.5 v2.1 because there were such minor updates and I really only built and uploaded another ROM in the hopes that Straightup would have better luck.

I'll be uploading another 6.5 this weekend hopefully. You got any suggestions on a build or do you like 21916?

Glad to hear you aren't having any memory issues and that battery life is good! Thanks for letting me know.

for #1 depending on what setting is changed in the chteditor it will soft reset auto. the lock is the only setting i see do this. and after you change order of or enable/disable tabs and you back out it will auto relaunch sense, afaik

Twitter scrolling is caused by Manila Core v2.5.20191914.0 (specifically manila.exe and mode9.dll, really any Manila Core from Oboe). You can replace those two files/module with leo versions to fix it. It also does the same thing when using the basic htc sms screen (not HTCMessagingClient or standard WM SMS...hope you know what I mean). You try to scroll all the way to the top and it jumps back down. This bug was bothering me and I quit using the Twitter tab because of it. Now that there are Leo ROMs with 2018, I've just been using most of the Manila packages from them lately.

HTCMessagingClient also fixes the scrolling issue, but doesn't work well with CDMA for MMS, etc. I've been using Manila Core v2.5.20181527.0 (well actually all manila minus Manila Home) from one of the new Leo 3.14 ROMs. I still use Manila Home v2.5.20184026.0 from Oboe since I like the RSS tab on the homescreen (need to set project code to oboe under HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila if you do this).

Tried the cab on 2.1 with CHT2.0 After installing the cab CHT did not load on restart. The sense home screen displayed the carrier name T-Mobile but I am VZW currently in extended coverage area. The digital clock on the home screen displayed 0:00. I re-installed CHT2.0 and still have the carrier name flashing on my home screen.

Cool, thanks for letting me know. I'll have to look into it further then. I didn't try loading CHT when I was working on it since CHT sets the carrier name anyway and so I wouldn't be able to tell. I'll work on that tomorrow morning and hopefully have something else posted then.

None of that makes sense. I don't see how what I did to the files in the cab would cause you're issues... :scratch:

Edit: So I tried loading CHT on my ROM with the same files cooked in as the cab I posted and CHT loaded fine and everything's fine. Did you disable Sense before you installed the cab? If not, you could try that. Did the cab uninstall fine?

Sharkie, I am running the 2.1 ROM. Everything is great. I do, however, have one question; Why can't I simply click on the green hard key to pull up my contact list so I can dial? It seems I have to first, click on the start button in the lower left corner and then click on the dial button. Is this right?

By the green hard key you mean the hardware call button? If so, I don't not have it mapped to open up Contacts. If you're used to this, the ROM you were using must have had this set up cooked in. Personally, I have Contacts set as the left softkey button. The hardware call button should open up the phone.

If you want the hardware call button to open up Contacts you can set it that way via:

Settings>System>Keyboard Config.

This app will allow you to map any apps to any button.

I'm having a similar problem. I believe what he's referring to is that normally the green hard key (call/answer key) opens the dialer. Now it does nothing on my phone. Instead I have to click on a soft key to open the dialer.

Did the call/answer key get remapped?

you mean the analoge and digital dual clock? if so thats a cht feature. hit menu tap edit home layout add a clock then either go to the advanced settings and choose the dual mode clock layout in the drop down or hold on clock till dialog pops up and choose next till you see your clock

The hardware call button not working could be a cht thing. That would make sense since Im not experiencing this. One way to test this out would be for one of you having the issue to hard reset and see if the issue exist. Then start messing with CHT and see at what point it stops working. Its got to be a setting or combof settings since Im not having the issue and I run my cht the way its set by default on my ROM.

I am running 2.1 rom with CHT 2.0 and the green phone button brings up the dialer as it should. Don't think it matters but I ran provisioning for Verizon.

The hardware Send/Green Button/Call Button (whatever you want to call it) not working for some of you is most definitely a CHT v2.0.0 bug. If you search the thread for it (as I just did) you'll find several mentions of this issue. You'll also discover that it's not common to everyone and every device which leads me back to my previous theory of it being a combo of different settings most likely.

i'm in the process of doing that now,1 cab at a time then soft reseting,then tweaks and reg. edits one by one,then cht settings until i figure out what the hell was causing it from booting after the setup

running good so far im just puzzled :scratch: installed everything i always do 1 by 1,then tweaks,then cht settings...........all is fine so i hard reset and tried "as is" on memory card,after uc and all was done it soft reset and stuck at bootscreen............so i was thinking maybe hidden files on sd card so i formatted and erased everything,and doing it normal no problems,with that particular sd card after first boot.....nothing,so i went and bought a new card a few minutes ago and put all files on it,hard reset and viola :thumbleft: all is well


so the issue is my sd card so to speak,i can use it and load stuff one by one no issues,any rom i use with uc on it and that issue occurs,i have seen sd cards die and quit working,but never seen or read about issue like this,i don't understand why i can use the card and save stuff on it,even install from it,but what in the hell would be causing it to not boot after running through XDA_UC,now im just curious as to what i did that caused this to avoid in the future,im gonna be honest i don't know crap by sd cards so i'm open to answers from anybody who reads this who has exp. and/or knowledge of the subject

Edit: I just downloaded the Generic 6.5 SharkieROM v2.0 from the 1st post and flashed it and it IS 6.5. You must have accidentally clicked the wrong link or something...

I wish I knew a little more about your problem, but I don't. Maybe you didn't anything. Maybe your card has just run it's course... I'm glad you're back on board though!

I've decided to not have XDA UC start up at boot anymore. I'm not quite sure how to change it, but I'm sure I'll have it figured out by the next update. XDA UC running at boot just seems to cause too many issues for some people. Especially those that are new to the ROM. I'll put a link to it in the Start Menu somewhere.

sounds good sometimes i need to use the phone as soon as its done flashing so being able to launch at your leisure will be a plus for me,rom running great homie,i even put as much as i could on every screen to see how much it would slow down,quite impressed compared to the lag i see on other roms when i try to crash sense by doing this,love th new cht default layout personally,i can flash your rom and run as is give or take me changing some graphics that i enjoy using,but seriously this is the only cht rom i have flashed where i didn't have to even use cht editor which i know may be a small thing but when your busy and all it saves me some time not having to setup screen after screen or by importing settings

no memory issue as others have mentioned,have had no need to soft reset due to lag or ect.,running fast,responsive,and smooth as a hot knife going thru butter!!

one question.....if you saw how many txt i did a month you would @#$% yourself lol,so needless to say i get txt nonstop all day and all night at work,my issue is when using wm messaging...........how do i kill the auto rotate,some nights it does fine but then theres nights my txt are coming in nonstop and when i hit "all messages" and begin to do my thing due to me walking having to pause and ect. my screen is constantly flipping lol,it's quicker for me to txt in portrait and the flip flop between that and landscape on busy nights can be annoying,i know it's gotta be a simple reg edit but i can't seem to remember in which string,if you know it by chance lay that sucker down for me and i will be forever in your debt :notworthy:
