just flashed 23150 sprint with pp set to 18
75 mb free at flash
76 mb free after cab load,PRL, remove unwanted tabs and sync
95 mb free after uninstalling start menu and installing winstartbeta -- 85mb free after a few hours

OCd to 729 and running very fast

EDIT:
Hands down the fastest ROM I have seen---Amazing work Sharkie. Other than sticking a nuclear battery in this, I honestly do not know of one thing that could make this better

ok i figured out what was causing the txt widget to not scroll...my thumbnail flicking motion never registered on screen, which is weird cause flicking down would but the flick up wouldnt. i tested it w/ the stylus and it flipped txts everytime. so basically user issue :mrgreen:

im on the 23150 also since last night. i have noticed a few weird hiccups :scratch: which i cant find the cause. every now and then the start hard button would not register the start menu (i disable the start soft key w/ app "software button hider"), the only way to fix is soft reset. another is sense would not load (showing only the calendar soft key on left and contacts on right) sense is checked in settings. have to uncheck, exit then check and exit. the only cht addons/mods are typo clock, weather + your trans weather.

things i remember that also happened in previous roms but forgot to mention would be that in file ex. or even sometimes in resco the screen will freeze kinda...cant scroll, hit buttons, tap screen, nothing. but sometimes would un freeze after a bit and sometimes a open kb will un freeze after a bit or soft reset. the battery percentage seems funky at times too. after a look threw of ppcg user panel in opera 9.7 (5-10mins) drops anywhere from 10-15%. once i noticed a 50% level (after heavy usage for 20-30 mins) and after a soft reset it showed 84% :scratch: which took 2-3 hrs to bring back to 50% :scratch: remember when i reported the double volume pop up in you tube? well i dont think it was just for you tube but that was all i tested at the time but i think it effects streaming media, maybe? and the native mp4 player (htc ??)

on a good note it is fast (sense)

i remember seeing, in vga way back in cooked roms, the data kill toggle/app (that would kill all and future updates until toggeled) the cht data switch is nice but it doesnt actually kill it until further notice/action by me (just until the next app requesting data, at times just 1 min after i toggle off) but cant find it now, does any1 know what im talking bout? that would def. help out on my battery

i was gonna ask if any1 use the rss resizable widget? i thought i was having issues w/ sense not loading caused by this but want feedback on this. @ sharkie was there a issue w/ the rss reader? i noticed a remove rss cab.

also how did you make your wav startup sound? i made 1 (htc ring theme) that was mp3 to wav and dont have that crackle. i actually used amr player. convert mp3-amr then convert amr-wav. (i use this to convert amr call recording on girls phone to mp3 for her lawyer)

I get a double volume in windows media landscape too. Also had this trying out later nrgz roms. Kinda funny how one starts to overlook something obvious but doesn't seem to matter anymore LOL now that that our engines are running so smooth. Kind of like a dent on the back of your car you just don't pay attention to.

I noticed this too.

I'm on the 23XXX r4 sprint ROM and Ive noticed sharkies Roms always take so long to load sense like 2 to 3 mins. If it doesn't load then it tells me to tap to launch sense again and I briefly saw the screen flicker and say something like sense could not load...

Also Sharkie for god sakes will you please remove the r2d2 ring tone as the default text alert. It is by far he most annoying ring tone on his planet. Maybe alert-smile. Something simple and not too long.

I do most of my flashing at work and if a text comes in before sense launches (so I can adjust the volume to off) then I'm looking like a jackass because theres no way of stopping this long annoying ringtone once it stops other then pulling the battery and leaving the phone off all day. So I avoid flashing your Roms at work.. I know I know I should be working but I have an addiction.:twisted: :evil4:

If your not willing to remove it thats your decision afterall it is your rom.

Anyways.... Thats not to say that I have become a serious fan of your work. I love your Roms dude. In fact do you have a donate link? I checked your first few posts and you never mention one. Let me know so I can show you some gratitude.

The remove RSS cab is in there for those that don't use CHT and also don't want the natural RSS Reader widget on the home page (2nd screen shot in the 1st row of normal screen shots in the 1st post). There are not RSS reader issues that I'm aware of. I just included the RSS removal cab as another option for users.

My ROMs have always taken a long time to load. I'm not sure why... I plan on doing some work in this area to hopefully speed things up a bit.

I love my R2D2 ringtone, but I may change it for you guys. You're not the only one who doesn't like it.

I can't say that I've had any Sense not launching issues. It does take a while to come up, but that's due to CHT v2.0 I believe. When I remove CHT, Sense seems to start up at a normal speed.

I've been meaning to look into the double volume bar thing and just keep forgetting. I'm writing it down right now.

Yes, Maxx has made me aware of the lag in File explorer sometimes. It's still being worked on...
Yeah, the crackling is not something I'm doing, I don't think. All the Jaws wavs that I've found do the same thing, but not other different wavs. I've tried like 10 different Jaws music wavs. I might just give up trying to get a clean sounding Jaws theme and just go with something more standard.Thank you.

yea at first i thought it was just youtube but now i think its, @ random, anywhere that type of volume pop up is used
i not sure but im on 23150 now w/ it happen and i do remember it on older builds as well. i use file ex. only at the begin of a flash to install cabs/setup then i guess i forgot bout it cause once thats done i stick w/ resco
i never have problem w/ the time it takes sense to load but w/ it not loading at all or whatever has me stumped

Post your .wav so I can try it out. I'm not sure, but it may have something to do with what Maxx134 has mentioned about the available sounds being different in HTC vs WM. It's one of those things I keep forgetting to look into. I've also written that down.

In the meantime, did you try just putting it in \Windows or \My Documents\My Ringtones (If you still have that directory)?

ok give me a min to upload the wav but ill try out the other dir. also. i didnt even check to see if the htc settings showed it in the list

another thing i forgot to mention, call me crazy but after i changed the animated gif to my fav via jdm??? icon changer, leaving the wav the same, after soft reset and there after i never heard the jaws wav crackle like before. which is werid as i never messed w/ it. if you use that jd (whatever) icon changer app try changing the gif only leaving the wav and see if it still crackles :scratch:

attached 2 fav txt/email wavs and a jaws (kinda long, needs trimming but try this out)

hhmm, interesting. I hadn't thought about my .gif causing the sound. That would explain why on my PC it sounds perfect.

ok now its uploaded. didnt know we couldnt upload direct wav or even 7z files.

im not sure why/what the gif would have 2 do w/ it but i using the same 1 i posted way back (htc cartoon sytle)

Edit: so going to the htc settings/ sounds & display and changing the notifications in there shows all files (doesnt need to be in windows only, can see wav on sd card) and it does work, thanks

@KJ - once you put the .wav into the ring folder. go to
tab/settings/sound display/notification sounds/choose the one then the sound

I've tried going through
start/settings/sounds/notification---and it will not work. so go through the tab/settings instead of start/settings

using file explorer or ect. copy the .wav/.mp3 then navigate to My device/Application Data/Sounds then paste

then it will appear in the list for you to choose and set

Thank you for sharing your hard work, truly appreciated, so far the rom seems excellent. i am recieving and sending mms, and everything seems to work. Im using the 21686 Sprint SharkieROM CE v2.0 R4. This is what you'll find in the registry. Change HomeLSKPath to the path of whatever it is you want to run using that button. Use file explorer or the like to find the path to whatever app you want run if you're not sure where it's at.

Change HomeLSKText to whatever you want that button to say.

i have to say...i was never really a fan of the icons (although they all pretty much match-thats good) but i did just step across some new icons that look similar to the cht icons you (s2w) skinned here, just a thought- i always end up using jwdm icon app. the only thing bout the icons are some dont have color, i really digging the black temp w/ the colored icons inside-makes em stand out.

In case you didn't notice I updated the USP to PC package. Remember I was having issues back in the beginning? Anyway, I think it's working now. I've not had any issues using it at all. If you try out one of the R4's, let me know how that goes.

i personally like min 74 free spirit folders n icons. it hasnt blown up as it deserves imo

as for the router, my pads wifi completely stoped working so im gonna have 2 reflash that to test

Tried it out last night on the laptop for about an hour. Works fine on my build. Great rom man. To report back to you, only a couple hiccups so far. 1- Unplugged the charger once and charge icon stayed on. 2- Went to hit keypad during a phone call and bottom half of the dialer disappeared. Nothing major.

i also found that data kill, until further noticed i remember seeing in vga roms. its called nodata. im prolly gonna use the cht data toggle switch for the icon but only bad thing is ui is plan ugly an its not just a quick toggle on (enable) off (disable) like cht but instead you open up then toggle. i will lose the actual on/off switch for the icon but will gain so much more in battery, i hope :)

On a side note, I use jspa program mgr to put any new cabbed programs into their correct folder. All of them work except when putting into multimedia. Once moved, it changes the folder icon to the standard wm yellow folder. I recognize this from using my kitchen a little bit ago. Looks like I passed that one on. Any quick ideas? I'll go back into mine and see if I can resolve it in case anyone else out there uses jspa too.

Wow, I'm gone for a few days and you've posted two updates......

Had to laugh at the guy flashing at work as that's when I do mine too. We're so slow today that I am headed to home page to d/l latest version and a flashing we go. Also got Vinn's Google d/l so will try that on the new flash if I still have Google map problems. BTW, I tried every port on Google maps and still nothing - don't know how to do some of the other suggestions so I'll try Vinn's d/l first then let you know what happened.

on the 21686 R4 Generic and it's working well!! have had no issues with that or anything else i use day to day in the rom,love threaded email,wifi is working here no issues,overall im happy with this build so far!

@ Everyone,

I believe I've fixed the double volume bar in the Music Tab, YouTube and probably Streaming Media as well. The reason it got messed up in the first place is because I was trying to get rid of the green volume bar. As you can see in my screenie, I've finally figured it out. Big thanks to Vinn! I figured it out by flashing one of his ROMs and checking it's registry, and I added a file or two that I was missing. This is the volume that shows in YouTube as well.

OMG, I am in love with this new update (21686)!! EVERYTHING works, no issues with Google maps, none with FB or Twitter - I am so excited!!!!

I do see the two volume sliders when in the music tab but it doesn't bother me.

Thank you for letting me love my HTC again. I'll report back after a few days of running and let you know if it still runs awesome!

so when you say google works now, pls explain what it is you did...exactly (i know you have had major issue w/ this that no1 can figure out)
did you flash and then went in right away to google maps? did you go quick gps, to make sure it was updated first? or did you install vins cab before checking the maps?

this way maybe we figured out what fixed it so you wont have issues w/ other roms

I flashed it the same way I've been flashing - started off with Task29, then flashed Sharkie's latest update (21686). I hit the provision carrier 1st, then VZW's *228 #1, then #2 (this programs the phone then updates the roaming capabilities), I then did "Mycrosoft My Phone" sync including my location, then went straight to Google maps - I did nothing different then usual - I wish I knew exactly what it was that made everything work this time - maybe it was patience and I did everything slowly vs rushing it. I did NOT do quick GPS, nor Vin's cab....... :scratch:

I'll probably play now and change the fonts and maybe the sliders to the ones shown above.

If there's anything I can do to help, plz let me know - I am a novice but love playing!

Just a follow up. Anyone ever get another weather location on the sense tab, yet have the correct one on the home screen? Probably just a freak one time thing. Just unchecked the other locations for insurance purposes.
