WADDUP!!! :rr: this last release has been wonderful for me!! can't get enough of it!! :headbang: no issues here at all,cht 2.0 is running great on the rom!! gonna try out the trans. weather widget .cab so big thanks for that,i hate panels :angry7:


also thanks for the update about the task manager,but with no issues here im gonna wait on your next release!! wish i had a issue to report :( i'll see if i can break something lol

My TP2 registry (Sharkie's 6.5 ROM) already has the settings you mentioned for EnableFullScreen and EnableLandscape, but the music and photo tabs don't rotate when the phone is rotated. I know this function works on my phone with EnergyROM, InfernoROM and others.

Maybe your efforts to include an automatic rotate feature early on in your ROM development caused a conflict? (Just guessing ... the first step in debugging. :P ) Anyway, I hope you can figure it out.

Got it! I just have to figure out why the wallpaper isn't covering the entire screen... The taskbars aren't really there. It was just the beginning of it starting to rotate back when I used shake n shave to take the pic.

You were right, it was Flip_It that was causing the inability to access this landscape layout. Needless to say , I've removed the program for now, but would like to add it back in IF I can do so without screwing with the landscape mode.

1 thing i notice is when you turn screen off then when you go to turn it on the screen is dim until you hit any hardware key, start or back. which is strange cause i dont use the dim backlight feature. i use no dim and always @ 50%. so this is a bit annoying to power screen on then also hit a hw key to see the screen. i noticed this on all but never remember to say it. but i also noticed, back on cht 1.8.5 once i enabled the cht lockscreen this issue went away. i havent yet enabled the lock in cht 2 so thats why i notice it agian. ill enable it and see if it goes away.

mmtask is working great. that same creator making a beta start menu replacement. very buggy, 4 me but maybe down the road usefull; recent list, favs, all list. integrated to start. maybe you like the idea, im still un sure as its buggy now but w/ the use of this or even all the quicklinks you can have using cht maybe you could 86 the programs tab, if it brings more space? just an idea

cant wait to see new rom w/ sum skin on cht2...

I don't and never have had that problem of the screen not fully waking up. Whether I use the power button to turn off the screen or psShutXP to turn the display off, it always come back on the way it should, which in my case is 100% brightness. I gotta go with something that you've done.

Anyone else have this issue?

I had seen MM new start menu mod before and it does look cool, but like you said it's still too buggy for me.

Even if I ever do use that and even though CHT v2.0 is out, I will never lose the Programs Tab. I love it! I've loved it since my Mogul Manila 2D days. I was soooo happy when Kimi made is mod for 2.5. I'll be honest, I rarely use it, but I still love having it back. It's just one of those things, sorry :) At least you can disable it now without another start menu link.

I feel the EXACT same way! I almost feel bad cuz I don't have a lot of feedback, but the ROM just works! I just moved from CO to TX a couple days ago and had a couple issues with voice/data connection, but that was on my end and a *228 fixed it no problem!

Thanks for that Kliptik. I wonder sometimes why the thread is so dead and then I think about ROM threads that are really rockin' all the time and why they are rockin' all the time is usually because everyone's looking for fixes for this and that.

I tell myself that it's because people aren't having that many issues and so, as you said, there's just not much to say.

What I've been working on is moving up to Sense 2019. Well a Core 2019 package and mostly 2018 packages except for a couple 2011 that just work better always. That part has gone pretty good. I'm not having any Sense issues at the moment.

The release of CHT v2.0 did distract me for a couple of days though.

I've also added links to all the Sense Tabs. This was brought on by CHT v2.0 having the tab links and realizing that a couple that I use were missing. Once I learned how to make the links, I figured it'd be nice to have links to them all, even without CHT. This way, if you wanted to not run CHT or revert back to CHT v1.8.5 you would still be able to set Tabs as quicklinks. My reasoning behind it is that I really hate the slider. It's almost impossilbe to actually slide to a tab and stop on the correct tab every time even if you're only sliding one tab over. So you can put you most used tabs as the first 4 and then some other tabs as quicklinks right above those, or have an entire quicklink page of tabs, whatever. I'm installing this all as a cab at boot, so if you don't like it, you can remove it, no harm done.

I've still got issues with the GPS Camera not wanting to intialize though. It will initialize quickly if I've opened Google Maps and run that GPS, but if I don't open Google Maps first, it will sit on the intializing GPS... until is stops trying and just goes to the regular camera. Anyone know how to fix that??

Anyway, if I can't get that fixed, I definitely won't be adding it. And even if I can get that fixed, I still may not add it. I just don't think many people actually use it.

What are anyone's thoughts on adding the Footprints tab or not?

I think it would be cool as long as it was working properly.

Definitely excited to see the 2019/CHT combo!!! Also, using the quicklinks instead of the slider gives you more real estate to put stuff on the Home Tab.

Hey guys - I d/l Sharkies last week and *LOVE* it - no battery pulls yet! I do have a problem with google maps or even bing maps finding me - any idea's as to what's up with the GPS? My weather can find me but that's about it. Thanks!

What's up Karenes!! Thanks for trying out my ROM! I'm glad you're liking it so far. :D

As far as GPS, I don't have any trouble with bing or google maps. Google Maps usually takes a few seconds to find me. Obviously, this greatly depends on where you are, what radio you're using, inside or outside, etc...
Bing seems to take slightly longer than Google Maps on my phone to find my location, but it always does.

I'm not sure why you'd be unable to get a fix using Bing or Google Maps. I'm assuming you've tried Quick GPS? Not that it should matter really, but it may help you get a fix sooner. I'll look around tonight or tomorrow when I have time and see what I can find on those scenarios. Sorry I don't have a quick fix for you right now. It's hard for me to work on issues that I can't recreate on my phone. I'll let you know what I come up with...

aye sharkie could you tell me the name of the animated bootsplash agian ( i know we talked bout this once b4 but i search the \windows and couldnt find it ie. startup, htc_animation or such) or do you not include it in the rom at all cuz i never have seen a gif load on boot ever? only the shark w/ sharkie rom on the bottom (but thats the welcomehead.png)

also im bout to load the liven windows theme but i dont want to loose the bottom softkey bar or taskbar (you know the ones you have w/ the rounded corners) could you upload those 2 files so i could rename an replace? i also tried looking for those in \windows but didnt see them (thought the black_softkey bar was it but didnt look like it)

The softkey bar is called "Dusk-softkeybar" (minus quotes). The top bar is called "Dusk-taskbar". If you load the livven theme you won't lose my remix theme. If you try and set my theme again, it won't set the first time. You have to go back to a different theme, set that theme and then go back to my remix theme and set it and it will stick. I'm not sure why this happens, but it's been happening in my ROMs for a long long time. It honestly doesn't bother me much cuz I always use my theme, but I figured people wouldn't be switching back and forth between my theme and other themes constantly.

But again, you won't lose my theme. Just do what I said to get it back.

I'm not sure myself on the name of the .gif that apparently I'm missing. I'll have to get back to you on that one in a bit.

ok thanks for those names. im actually gonna install a liven cab, not use the simple gloss versions in the rom and replace some of the files but i wanna keep your rounded corners. they look so much better then the ones that come w/ the liven theme. once i get it all installed i'll post a screenie to show what files i changed.

im starting to think you dont have a animated.gif on boot or maybe you do but maybe its disabled? i have this htc gif (cartoonie style) i always use and i miss using it. i can post that if you wanna see what i mean by cartoonie. i think its freakin awsome.

maybe make sure quick gps is activated? it expires once every 7 days if not told to update automatically, after flashing, you have to go back and download again. always.

as an update, i found the culprit...it was me :mrgreen: lol

no but seriously yea, i had used keybrd config. to change the long press power button to a shutdown app 'svmpowermanger' and this must of caused the issue cause i skipped this step after a fresh flash and no prob. i just use the psshut shark now

That's good to know that you found the problem. This, however, leads me to assume that you've used Keyboard Config. to route this app to the long press send key on other ROMs and you didn't have this issue. Is that correct? Or is my ROM the first that you've tried that on?

no not the send key but the power key and yes on all roms using the same saved xml for the keybrd config. but none other roms had already used the power key for other app, in your rom its the psshut app. so im guessing thats why, the 2 werent playing nice. its not a big deal.

not many use that shutdown app, i only like it cause its fullscreen (its not the latest version cause he changed everything i liked bout it in the 1st place, so its the 1st release) but it gives options of screen off, suspend, reset, turn off or exit app (simple an straight forward) and i have icons anastasia style to replace but it could look 10x better if some1 could make a killer (sharkie touch) theme for it :mrgreen:

if you like i attached the cab for you to try and the icons in the rar a friend on xda made. i like the theme you made for the psshut app and wonder if that would look good also on more real estate this app gives.

like i said no biggy, just idea

This ROM is for CDMA phones only. AT&T is GSM. This ROM won't work on an AT&T phone. Did you already flash your AT&T phone with this ROM? It was my understanding that flashing a CDMA ROM on a GSM phone (and vice versa) would brick your phone...

Edit: So I noticed in your details it says that you're on Sprint. Are you on Sprint or AT&T?

Ok - this is the craziest thing. I reloaded your ROM on Monday, and couldn't log into anything. Not FB, not any maps (Google nor Bing), Twitter, weather - nothing. Then all of a sudden this morning everything was working except Google. It says "your current location is temporarily unavailable" but Bing found me. As you know, I am such a novice (hence why I "lurk") at this so I'm pretty sure it's operator error vs anything else. As long as I can get one map to work then I won't stress, it's when I can't get myself out of a wet paper bag that I worry :D.

Well, never hesitate here to ask any question. I still ask the noobest questions sometimes. How else are we supposed to learn? :)

Are you familiar with Task29? If you're not, you should look into it. It definitely helps with weird issues that no one else seems to be having. I've gotten into the good habit of Task29'ing before every flash. It only takes a minute to do and it can make a world of difference. :)

As far as I know flashing a GSM ROM on a CDMA phone brick your phone. It just won't boot, and you have to power up in bootloader to flash a CDMA ROM. Radios on the other hand are Brick City. If you flash a GSM radio onto a CDMA phone (or vice versa) you'll brick the phone every time.

It's still not good to flash the wrong ROM, but just wanted to clarify it a little.

@Sharkie - I haven't had a chance to add that reg string yet for the animated boot screen. I'll try and play around with it later this afternoon.

im not positive but my guess is he is on sprint w/ a sprint tp2 but he unlocked it to use at&t sim card?

your right as in the "hklm\SOFTWARE\HTC\htcanimation" is not there but i did see this "hklm\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation" but inside there was no value and im not sure how to go bout it. should i name value "StartupGif" but where would i enter the file path. its been awhile since i looked into messing round w/ the reg. and i kinda forget

Love your attitude bro. So Sharkie I just loaded it up awhile ago and really love it so far (Sprint 1.3 6.5.x). The little details are always what really get me into a rom, and yours are great - sliders, keyboard skin, etc. Anyway I have gotten accustomed to using the Anastasia EndKey v4.5 and have loaded it onto several roms lately without issue but it is telling me "it does not have sufficient system permissions". I have installed sdkCerts. Any ideas?

It's not SDKCerts that's the issue. I cook that into my ROM. Just for kicks I installed another SDKCerts cab to see if it would work and I get the same error you mentioned. I have to work all day today so I won't have time to dig into this more, but either tomorrow or over the weekend, I'll sit down and try to figure this out. It doesn't make any sense.

The ROM is the best 6.5.x I've ran. FAST and clean, but it punishes the battery compared with the 6.5 ROMs I've ran. It's the first 6.5.x I've been able to work with for more than a day or two. It's making me put off buying the Evo, for now. Great work!

Wow!! What a compliment! Thank you very much! I too have been fighting the urge to get an EVO. I love my TP2 too much at the moment and I love my ROM even more. Glad to hear you feel the same way. :)

Hey just to update...the endkey app developer gave me a couple suggestions - some regedits and SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe - but neither made a difference. It is definitely something unique to this ROM.

edit: in case it helps, other endkey apps won't install either, same error.

The only thing I can think of is that it might be the "Long Press End Key" package that I've cooked in. I'll try building a ROM without that tomorrow and see if that fixes the issue. Thanks for letting me know.

Sharkie if you cook a ROM without the Long Press End Key package would you put it up for download? I would like to be able to just flash that and setup my phone again from scratch. I've done a lot of screwing around with it figuring out what I want, and starting fresh might be a good idea.

Also Sharkie I just got a request from the developer of the End Key app to know which Long Press End Key package you used, so he can work on making his app compatible with it, if possible.
