Re: 12-06-10(CE-21686-Sense2019)★SharkieROM v2.0 R1★Generic\Sprint[21683\21916-Sense2
thats exactly what i was saying as i read
Quote:
the thing about signal issues is that it is rarely ever, if even ever, caused by a rom itself. the roms dont change anything related but its the radio that does. so if you didnt mess around with flashing different radios or maybe your prl is old and needs updating ("72 is the last 2 digits i think, ill check later) if neither could be the cause, sprint towers in your area are 'f.u.b.r' as for the data, play dumb, if they even say anything. "like, what ..., its at how many gb ??? how is that even possible " ....hang up phone....haha suckers

@ Sprint ROM users, I'm not sure how long it's been this way, perhaps since I updated the Sprint nav. package I'm not sure. Anyway, I noticed a few days ago that the telenav audio files were showing up in the sms etc.. ringtone choices. I knew how to fix it, but apparently my comp. was just being stupid and was giving me rough time. Vinn graciously fixed my files for me so this issue will not exist on any ROMs released from here on out.

Shartkie, re flashed sprint r4 and all is fine. did have the x1 for about 5 min but it cleared itself up on it's own(seattle). Def not a ROM issue...running r4 with no problem at all.

Re: 12-06-10(CE-21686-Sense2019)★SharkieROM v2.0 R1★Generic\Sprint[21683\21916-Sense2
Sharkie just moved from R1 to R4 last week. I hesitate to even bring up these items as they are very minimal. Fantastic ROM.
1) Bluetooth on R4 with car controls is rock solid. On R1 incoming calls would mess things up and I would have to reset bluetooth. Perfect on R4 - nice job. Your competitve chef's could not figure this out. 2) You may have the backlight timer settings on battery flip flopped. (device not used for/turn off device). 3) Google maps does not find location (temporarily unavailable) when trying to locate via the phone. I have confirmed location is enabled in the CDMA setup (location/911). Location works fine via GPS - just not via Verizon by pressing the blue icon in Google maps. 4) All day events appear on the home screen but on the lock screen they don't. There is not an adjustment in CHT for all day events. Perhaps a registry setting for Sense? I googled but could not find any such setting. 5) Sense is a bit sluggish. I have 100's of contacts with multiple numbers for each contact so maybe that is the issue. I am considering removing Cookie and seeing if that helps. You have a screenshot perhaps of what the home page looks like and what I would lose? It not, no big deal. It looks like I can uninstall and then re-install easily via CAB file. Great work! This ROM will keep me on the TP2 and not switching to Android for awhile. |

Google maps works fine for me and I think it works fine for most people, especially those on the R4 ROMs. I'm not sure what the issue is that's causing it to give you a temporarily unavailable message... I'll look into all day evets showing on the lockscreen... Sense is a bit sluggish??? I think my Sense is pretty darn fast and that's what everyone else has said. I'm not sure what would be causing your's to be sluggish. In the first post there are screenshots of what my Sense looks like without CHT. The 6th screenshot from the top (the 1st one in the plain row of screenshots) is what Sense will look like if you remove CHT. The 7th screenshot is what Sense will look like if you use the "Remove RSS Feed" cab. No doubt removing CHT will speed up Sense, but like I said before I think that my Sense is pretty fast, even with CHT installed. |

Re: 12-06-10(CE-21686-Sense2019)★SharkieROM v2.0 R1★Generic\Sprint[21683\21916-Sense2
It may not be Sense being the culprit. As I mentioned, I have a lot of contacts. If I click on the SMS icon then click new text message, I can count to almost 5 before the screen pops up. I may try removing CHT to see if it helps. This ROM is so stable, I can definately live with it.
Thanks for looking into the all day events. It is kind of growing on me not having them display. Would be great if it is a simply registry toggle to enable them on the lockscreen and homepage. |

Re: 12-06-10(CE-21686-Sense2019)★SharkieROM v2.0 R1★Generic\Sprint[21683\21916-Sense2
I just tried starting a new SMS via the +SMS button on the Messaging tab and you're right that it does take 5 seconds to open up. That's how it's always been on my ROMs. I guess I didn't know it could be faster. I'll look into this as well and see if there's a way to speed that up. Thanks!
@ Everyone, Since you guys have far more experience with different ROMs than I do, is the speed at which my Messaging Tab opens up a new SMS from the new SMS button slow by comparison? Last edited by Sharkie405; 12-15-2010 at 01:07 PM. |
