So this whole setting the device to async or disk drive or whatever the other option is with usb to pc. I'm using USB To PC Pop Up 2.3.2011.1720.00. Could the problem be related to this? If so, is this the most current version?

I read that a good idea is to take out the storage card. Since I did that it seems to work more frequently but not 100%. Is this just a microsoft thing like async acting funny. I can say that since my mogul days async has never pulled up and synced right off the bat 100% of the time. Should setting it on disk drive work flawlessly every time or do others experience this as well. I'm judging whether or not it's working by whether or not the windows explorer storage card window pops up. I did notice that WM Player seems to recognize it all the time...

-I'm pretty sure that version of USBtoPC Popup didn't work for me until I started using HTC Framework 2014. 'Till then I was using 1917.

I'm having my own issues with platformrebuilder.exe "choking" (aka completing successfully with only an 8MB file). And when I look in the \temp folder none of the files besides the \ROM\xip's are there.
Any Ideas? I've tried replacing the tools folder and the OEM folder and even tried disabling All EXT's. Bout to start VK from scratch

That's happened to me a few times. It's always been an issue in my OEM folder. Normally like one file missing that can cause it.

+1 on that. Everytime it's happened to me it's been something in the last few files I touched that I F'ed up. Usually something really stupid on my part.

Oh and Scuba, can you post your HTC Framework 2014. I've been using
1.5.1922.3320. Oh how I hope that is my issue. That would be fabulous!

I just noticed that I had 2012 tucked away. I'll try that in the meantime. I'd still like to give 2014 a go though.

What version of USB to PC do you use and with what HTC Framework? Sc00b4s7eve or anyone?

Anyone have a definitive solution to keep async from running all the time? I've searched and searched and most answers seem to be B.S. I use elias async killer, but it doesn't seem to work really.

I dont think there is any solution. Its better for the activesync to be that way...

I think I've found the solution to my USBtoPC disk drive setting problem. Using USBtoPC 2.2.1917 switching between async and the disk drive option works flawlessly. The downside is that it's the older style Windows look and not the new version HTC style look, but it's only ever up when one is trying to connect to a PC and I feel that connecting to the PC in the way one desires is more important than the look of that screen that's only up for a few seconds.

xTask has the option to kill async. If you use the dll version it loads into shell32.exe and not its own process. When I get back to my computer I'll post that and the framework EXTs.

NOTE: I found that if you fallback to HTC Framework 1.5.2012.3420.00 you will have to also rollback to the USB To PC PopUp 2.2.1917.1630.0
Also, could you lemme know if the new version of framework is causing any lag in your CommManager and Wifi On/Off. It would help me with troubleshooting
