Mal,
GREAT job!!! This ROM is running faster and smoother than 2.1 IMO. All the programs are playing nice and it isn't losing as much memory as jan 14 either. Not to shabby for something you just threw together. The only thing that had me nervous was while installing all the cabs, it froze about 6 times and had to hit the reset button every time. But after that, not 1 problem. I have not reset it since then (almost 48 hours). The only thing I miss is the quick menu on the screen but can live without it.

are there updates instructions for XDA_ UC anywhere?

Or maybe instructions of things to do before reflashing?

I feel like I'm inefficient in the way I do these things.

Anyone one build 23518 having mms issues? I can't get a pic mail for some reason. Everything else is fine. I ran the "disable HTC messaging" cab, but not sure that did anything.

Install this cab, soft reset and you should be good to go.

Using the 6.5.3 2.5 rom my ringer keeps going out. The sms and email notifications still work, seems to be 2-3 hours of use.Ill see missed call and VM icons at the top, if i go to change the ringer ill get a message that the ringer is currupt. Doing a soft reset will kick the ringer back in but i missed a buttload of calls. Did use "zenyee disable htc messaging" but can duplicate the issue on a fresh hard reset with nothing installed

I've never required any workarounds for MMS on the MalROM 6.5.3 w/2.1. Mine works fine...

Do I need to do anything to get picture messaging to work on the new version? Its not working on Verizon.

provision cab and mns cab. not sure why it wouldnt work on vzw, roms generic now i think.

Ive had the same ringer issue, I'm sure malatesta will address that in a future build. Seems to be the issue with the Rom though.

Edit: I got frustrated and did a hard reset. Testing is working but MMS is not. I got a sent confirmation but the recipient didn't receive it.

Didn't do any carrier provisioning or anything either (Verizon).

Still can't get any of the things I loaded to works as alerts for Email, Text, or MMS. They work for Ringtones though. Do they need to be different for the alerts?

lol, for mms to work do you need to run provision cab?

Which ROM are you running? Are you on the latest 6.5.3 2.1 or on the brand new 2.5? IIRC 2.5 has issues with MMS so it that's what your one, that may be the cause of it. If you on the older 2.1 use the cabs darren posted earlier.

It froze up on me about 6 times when I was fist setting everything up. But it has only froze up once since then and that happened when receiving a pic mail at the same time as sending one. Otherwise I can't pinpoint what's actually causing it.

Incoming ring doesn't work, and when incoming call happens, it takes a while for the phone skin to come up. Also had problems answering the call.

Is there a fix for MMS for Sprint TP2 running Mal's WM6.5.3 with sense 2.5.2011.... I installed MrX provisioning cab and the MMS would not send then i installed the arcsoft MMS Sprint cab and it says the message was send but when i ask the people if they received it they didnt... let me know if theres a fix thanks!

Here's an interesting one. For some reason Evernote (http://www.evernote.com/about/downlo...ows_mobile.php) won't display the body of a note on 6.5.3. Works on 6.5. Only thing I can think of is a font issue? Mal, did you delete any default fonts?

I ran into problems AFTER I ran the verizon provisioning cab and the ring and vibrate fix cab.

After I ran those (for the second time) I couldn't send texts or receive incoming calls. I think I'm going to downgrade for a while until this version is a bit more stable.

Although I would love for someone to answer the question of why my custom ringotnes work for the phone ringer only and not the alerts for texts/MMS/email

I'm back on the 6.5.3 2.1 for stability too. I like 2.5 but I don't want to have to worry about it freezing or mms issues. As far as ringtones, where are you loading them to? I keep mine on the root of the sd card and I can change them to whatever I want, although I tend to leave Mals text and e-mail notifications because they annoy the crap out of my wife!!!

The cab provided above for "not- ringing issues" didn't fix the issue. Mal's 6.5.3 rom with manila 2.5 is great in all aspects except

post what apos your running, something doesnt sound like its the rom, did you backup and hardreset and dont load anything? dont really need the bold print either, we will try and help till mals here.

The ringer has had issues for me for every single 6.5 & 6.5.3 from many different cooks. The ringer performs the exact same way.

Darren it works at first, but half way throughout your day, with a freshly flashed ROM no apps, the ringer will silence and there's no way to get it back on without soft-resetting. I've been looking for a fix for a long time and it seems to happen on every single ROM I use. Been doing this for years btw. I havn't actually found a ROM that does have the ringer fixed.

Guys any info that can be provided will help ANYONE who searches for this issue including myself. So please don't fight and just put your thoughts together in helping finding a solution if that's what you would like to do.

as for 6.53, i ran mals first one and didnt have the issue and mighty 6.53(love) for atleast 3weeks and also never had the issue, not sure why your having the issue but im still not having the issue on mals 6.53 and its been on one of my tp2's for almost 7hrs, ill leave it on all day but it not sure whats gonna happen that hasnt yet but ill leave it on. as far as helping, thats why i asked the new guy to post whats loaded on phone, funny he wont though, lots of these issues are 100% user error and thats why i (we) wanna see whats loaded. its a process of trial and error but some people dont wanna post whats loaded so there tough to help.

I'm running MAL's 1B6 with 6.5.3 and Manilla 2.1. My ringer works fine. I used 1B3-5 as well with no ringer issues. I haven't provisioned for Sprint either. Wonder if you've got a HW issue or SW conflict???

If you read back numerous pages, there was an issue with the ring and vibe stopping after a SR but that was fixed w/ a CAB that Mal or someone posted. I'm back running Mal's 6.5.3 2.1 and don't have any sort of ringer issues at all. I'm not sure if it will fix the issue or not, but it's a start. Lemme know if you can't find the posts I'm referencing or the cab and I'll get it to you, I'm just at work right now.

im still not having issues with ringer not working, to mr.x, if i was wrong im sorry, i really did wanna help the guy. if it was my coment about the bold caps print that made him mad it was a suggestion that we would help w/o the print and still ment to help.
