Thanks for replying to that Jsnively, as I don't use corp exchange server.

I am currently running 2-19MH23534Sense2.5 and it has been very very stable.

The only issue I am having is with the Weather. For example, the phone shows -6F but the actual temp is 21F.

I am a US Cellular customer and connect to my Kerio Corporate mail server with ActiveSyn/Exchange connector and it works like a charm.

Keep up the great work.

Did you just changed that the last couple of releases or is that part of the new SYS files?

I have just been changing it takes to seconds.

That was 2012 tom foolery. I need to go in and edit the 2012 weather rgu to default to that instead of Celsius. I noticed it, but totally forgot about it.

ok, spent lots of hard resets trying things for corp exchange problem. all on 23534. i tried using the i780patch.exe that was required on the stock sprint rom to sync at all (it would just give an error code and never sync). that didn't work. tried just syncing contacts, in the thought that it was email messing it up. same freeze after the next soft reset. i tried setting up with no sd card (i read somewhere that some corps require encrypted cards). no dice. also tried location of storage of email for both phone and card. and no attachments

and then just to verify i set up my google account in exchange and the rom runs like butter and can soft reset all day long with it loading up just fine. (i have flashed and sync'd my corp account to most major roms in this forum). Anyone else have any ideas?

Ah, it figures it would be so easy. That's alright, I won't tell my friends.

Thanks for the awesome rom. This has been the best rom yet for me.

You've put more effort into debugging this issue than I did, but I can confirm that I've had a very similar experience. In summary:

1. The latest MH ROM (23534) doesn't properly come out of reset after I setup the ROM to run with my corp exchange server. My symptoms were identical to the ones you described.

2. Prior MH ROM's worked fine for me.

3. Other 6.5 and 6.5.x ROMs with 2.1 and 2.5 variants (2011 and 2012-based) that I've tried (MAL, RSTG, Silence, etc.) don't have this same problem.

Hope Dibbs or somebody can figure this out because I really like the MH ROMs :-D

Which 6.5 ROM? I've only tried your 6.5.x ROMs. If I recall correctly, one of your prior 23529 ROMs worked just fine for me -- didn't exhibit the soft reset problems I had with 23534 and 23540 versions after connecting with my corp exchange acct.

There are 2 6.5 ROM's on post 1, lol, been there for awhile. Well, if 23529 worked for you, the only difference between the 2 roms are the SYS files. The 23529 roms are still on the old FTP if you would rather use it.

Re: <> 2-19-10 <> Medium Hill Rom's <> SYS 23534 & 21890 <> MH UC & Provisioning v3.1

Np. The only way I could really figure it out is if i compared each individual file in the SYS in the related folders, which would be very very time consuming and may or may not provide an answer. The strange thing is since your on Sprint, the fact that other Sprint user's have connected to corp exchange accounts. 23541 should be here soon, and maybe that might help things.... maybe.... never can tell really. I did setup a Win server today but haven't put exchange server on it yet. Although the only thing is the fact I may not be running the same security features that some companies use possibly. I'm trying for ya guys and gals.

Fahrenheit is now default on weather tab, also, and will include the new finger friendly version of TCPMP as well.

Re: <> 2-19-10 <> Medium Hill Rom's <> SYS 23534 & 21890 <> MH UC & Provisioning v3.1

Question for ya (or ya'll)...

On the original sprint 6.1 ROM and some of the 6.5 + 2.1 ROMs, you can select a phone number within a calendar entry and have the option of dialing it automatically. In addition, the notes field for the calendar entry shows on the dialer screen. This is very helpful when you're on the road and calling into remote meetings or bridge numbers. This capability seems to have disappeared in the 6.5.x + 2.5 ROMs.

Does anyone care? Is it possible to get these features back in 6.5.3 + 2.5?

dibbson 02-25-2010 09:22 PM

Re: <> 2-19-10 <> Medium Hill Rom's <> SYS 23534 & 21890 <> MH UC & Provisioning v3.1

Man, that's a tough question as I seriously didn't even use the stock sprint rom longer than it took me to get home from the sprint store and flash, LOL, as that grey and orange was just ugly.... There are some minor differences between 2.1 and 2.5 and I think the calendar is one of them. Also, there are a few different phone canvas's that have different buttons on them as well. So it could be the combination of the 2. I know that getting certain dialers to work with 6.5.x can be troublesome because of the newer layout of the screen. Can you provide an example of a 6.5.x 2.5 ROM that functions the way you like?

I use the 6.5.x Sense 2.5 ones. But to be honest I jumped ship for a few to try out Mightyrom Love but that only lasted a day cause I was having major problems with email in manilla2.1/in general. I really enjoyed the speed of manilla 2.1 though. That is my only issue with the 2.5 roms they are slow. BTW, what is your page pool? Thanks.

Page pool's a secret...... hahaha. J/K, I use 16. I don't like to mess with that as that can cause massive across the board issues with a rom in various ways. I've actually been running something out of the norm too. As much as I love the 6.5.x bottom taskbar. I've been running a 6.5 2.5 ROM the last few days, and it's been smooth and lightning fast, been lovin it actually.

Hmm, not sure why you were having email trouble. When I was running the 23540, my email was fine, but I didn't use yahoo. As technically you have to "pay"/upgrade your account to be able to use yahoo on outlook and mobile phones, supposedly.... But then again it works fine on my Itouch and my Imail on my MB pro.... stupid yahoo....

Re: <> 2-19-10 <> Medium Hill Rom's <> SYS 23534 & 21890 <> MH UC & Provisioning v3.1

Yeah, 23541 seems to take a couple soft resets for this one to settle in. But it's been running fine for me since, so far....

I left the taskbar out cause some people complained about it here and there, and I figured it's just easier for everyone to just install whichever one they want since it's just a test rom anyways. To be honest though, I'm beginning to wonder if there is a really good 6.5.x SYS out there after running a 6.5 sense 2.5 ROM for a few days. I mean, I had zero issues on the 6.5 rom. I should have a pretty significant update rolling out towards the end of this coming week. Also voice which 6.5.x SYS all of you would prefer for the update.

Dibbson, This test rom is nice. Not having any email issues like before. I think this one is a good update canidate. Also running cookies mod which is nice. I think the 6.5.x have improved a lot over the past 6 months. I think the current one is good and stable so far. I asked about the page pool cause i read somewhere that 6.5.x is designed to operate the best with a dynamic page pool but I dont know if thats true.

dibbson 02-27-2010 01:47 PM

Re: <> 2-19-10 <> Medium Hill Rom's <> SYS 23534 & 21890 <> MH UC & Provisioning v3.1

My luck I change the page pool and it screws everything up, LOL. But I have also read from time to time that WM can sometimes benefit from from a dynamic PP which allows WM to do what it wants to, but if there was a really good PP setting like that, I think more people would be jumping on that band wagon. Which i'm really not seeing atm.

EDIT: There is also an app available you can install that will allow you to change your Page Pool. So you can mess around with that if you want to. I don't have a link for it though.

Loaded up the 23541 test ROM. Did have some trouble at first after installing mms sprint and sprint provisioning. On soft reset, it wouldn't bring up the sense interface. Tried several soft resets and it finally worked. After that, my setups worked fine. No problems with pop3 email setup, quick gps works. Cookie's home tab 1.5.4 works well too. And I see 85mb ram free on soft reset. Don't know of any other 6.5.x rom that comes close!

Noticed the volume control is back to the wm version. Personally, I like the htc skinned version better.

And I prefer the colored task bar. Which one did you use?

My vote is the 23541 for your roll out of the next update.

Re: <> 2-19-10 <> Medium Hill Rom's <> SYS 23534 & 21890 <> MH UC & Provisioning v3.1

Yeah, I totally forgot to check the volume control package, d'oh!! I noticed that too unfortunately, does look ugly after using the HTC one's for so long now. It was a tsowen taskbar that i used. I searched high and low the other day for other taskbars, and there are a few out there. I found 2 black and white ones, and one color one as well that are for CDMA devices that work good besides the tsowen one. And yeah, this SYS (23541) seems to act up at first but it settles in nicely after a couple soft resets or three (I think I did 3 or 4 myself), but was solid after that. Currently testing 21893 with 2.5 atm. Seems solid as well so far, although the mem usage doesn't seem as good as 21890 (doesn't seem to manage it as good), but it definitely is fast.

Ok, here is a preview of something I am going to be adding to the next round of updates. Since BG4ALL was not the best answer due to manila slow down and people asking "why is the background white?", I have gone with HDWalls, and will have it available as an install on first boot or later through the UC app. Also I will be adding the cab's to the TSK directory of my FTP so you can download which ever one you want if you decide to use one of mine. That way you can load your own on first boot, or download mine through the updater app. You'll need to install HDwall cab and the HDwall patch cab as well through the UC app if you choose to use it. Here are some sample pics that include some custom Manila mods I did. The only issue I have though is I can't get the landscape image to show correctly yet. It shows the portrait image instead of the landscape one. If anyone has any ideas on that one let me know while i'm trying to work it out.

Looks nice! I also like the scroll format of the email tab.
I tested incoming ring and that works too.
I didn't see the eReader tab. Was that excluded on purpose? I tried it on another ROM and it seems like a cool feature. There were complaints that it was too slow but that didn't happen to my phone.

Dibbson, my emails problems came back after a few days on 23541. It seems after a few days the association between mailboxes and the manilla tab breaks. It still previews fine but if i click on the message or try to access the inbox its hangs for a minute and then quits working. This problem only occurs for me on the 23540/541 builds it seems. Also the same thing occured on MRoms 23540 builds.

Re: <> 2-19-10 <> Medium Hill Rom's <> SYS 23534 & 21890 <> MH UC & Provisioning v3.1

Probably just the threaded email client. I only ran the 23541 for 2/3 days, but did not have that happen with email and I have 6 accounts I usually run (as you can see from the pics I posted a few posts back) on 30 minute to 1 hour refreshes. Although I switched to try 21893, which I didn't like, memory usage wasn't as good as 21890. As much as I like the bottom taskbars of 6.5.x, I have been enjoying good ol' regular 6.5 lately. But seriously, i've tried every 6.5.x SYS out there, and nothing beats the 235xx series for speed and stability. If only they could just get the email client straightened out just a hair better, it would be the best com tree. I may go back to 23529 since people were having better luck with that one.

Maybe you could share a beta 6.5 while we wait for a stable 6.5.x build. :)
Of course I may be the only person having email issues so i dont mean imply that the builds are hosed.

Dibs,

The new look is great!

I have been using the Co0kie home tab mod v1.5.4 which gives me 4 calendar notes on the home page, so I don't forget what I am to do.

He is going to come out with v1.6 soon so it might be a worthy alternative to MaxManila.

Thanks
