Re: indagroove's Sense 2.5 TouchPro ROM - CE OS 5.2.23506 (Build 23506.5.5.0) [111909

I agree. I've had little to zero problems with the last few Groove ROMs except for one big problem where nothing worked on the phone although I got the home screen to run. Not even the phone would work. I got some error like "The operation failed" when I tried to make a call. The only program that ran was PIMBackup from my SD card. That saved me. Btw, I could not turn the phone off either! I drove home and put it in bootloader mode and updated the last ROM again.

All of this happened when I deactivated the included lock and was installing PocketShield. Could have been related to these actions but I had done this several times in the past.

But I am sticking to this ROM. I figured it can only get better as they work things out so I am looking forward to future upgrades.

Awesome job on this ROM and it's bleeding edge!

But I dont care i still love this ROM to much to even to a hard reset. On the other hand...I expect a lot more problems with anything that says "windows" during bootup...

Here ya go;

Opera_Mobile_10_WM_beta_1.cab

Install and it will be the default browser from the Internet tab. Turn off Sense before install, run cab, soft reset, turn on Sense.
I just ran the cab and SR but just in case...

I seem to have a few problems, but other than that this ROM is fine and much more stable than NRG's for me. Just the battery dies a lot faster than NRG's, even with my extended battery =/

The problems I have is that;
1) The HTC Weather GPS location thing never wants to find the city I'm in, it finds some other city.. I checked my Sprint Nav and use GPS Tool and Google Maps and they all can pinpoint my exact location but the weather one only gets it right maybe once every 10 times.. It keeps getting a neighborhood that's a mile away. And I don't know if this is even a ROM issue or not but, NRG's always found my city and 1/10 times it found that neighborhood lol. It was practically the other way around.
2) I can't seem to fix this but I have 1 unread SMS on my Sense bottom bar, meaning that it shows I haven't read my SMS when every single one is read, I've read every message by clicking on it and Xing out and it still is there, have tried soft resets also. (Its a green circle with a 1, you know when you get a new text/SMS?) Mine tends to stay at 1 forever..

And a general question, does Sashimi backup every thing? Even the Facebook accounts I have linked to my contacts? Would hate to do those all over again. Also can someone help me find the links to 6.5.1 taskbars? I can't seem to find any and the ones I do find all don't work properly. Much appreciated and sorry for being a noob haha

Sprint finally sent my (free) TP2 and so I have to leave this forum, but I will say this. After spending hours trying to find a TP2 ROM that works out of the box, I appreaciate your ROM's even that much more Groove. I can't wait until you get a TP2.

Fo those of you considering the TP2, I'll give you my humble opinions so far. To me, the form factor of the TP is the best. It is evenly balanced and it just feels right in my hand. It also is a good looking phone. It looks professional and modern. The TP2 is kinda ugly in comparrison. At least to me. It is and feels much heavier and larger. It is a bit thinner, but it just doesn't sit in my hand like the TP. Software wise (stock) the TP2 has some really nice built in features and the screen is amazing!!! For this reason alone I would switch again. When browsing the web or looking at apps, you can see so much more.

Well that's my not so technical first impression on the TP2. I hope to see some of you over in that forum soon. Especially you Groove! Theses other ROMs are killing me (lol). I may even learn how to start cooking in my own kitchen

Tp

For My Location try updating your PRL, then a new radio

Radio Thread

For your unread SMS try this (make sure you check All Messages and email inboxes to to be sure)
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...9&d=1252377020

Sashimi is awesome. It can do a lot. Not sure about facebook stuff but here is the a great thread on it
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=75214

Edit: My Location can be weird/glitchy. If it's working everywhere else and not at home it could be a temporary network issue since My Location is largely based on tower communication

If you or one of your neighbors has an Airave (a small home based cell tower with about a 1000 foot range) and your phone is connecting to it then your weather location will either not update correctly or not at all.

A quick way to check if your are connected to an airave - and don't know it. Dial *99 and hit send. If you hear a tone and the message "you are now within airave coverage", you are connected to one. Don't worry, its free anyway and improves your reception.

As far as your location goes, its not neighborhood specific as far as I know. Mine just says "Knoxville Tennessee" rather than Farragut, which is the town I live in that is s burb of Knoxville.

For the message that is showing in your inbox, go to "all messages" and from the drop down list at the top, click on Outlook mail and you should have a message in there. They show up if you use activesync to sync google or did a backup with microsofts MyPhone backup.

Thank you so much

But I tried to update my PRL, it says error 1012 and now my phones internet just stopped working

And for Dave TN, IT's very weird, it will get my city (Pinole) But there is no city here called "Bayview-Montalvin" and that is what keeps coming up, two streets from here is a neighborhood called Tara Hills, which has Bayview on one end, and Montalvin on the other end (Not cities, just name of places) and it says the code you entered is not valid for *99
