After you unzip it, you should have the cab file. cab files are installation files for your phone. just move the cab file to your phone and open it with the file explorer on your phone.

Ok, thank you. This might seem like a silly Q? but how do I move the file to my phone? There's a lot of files in the zip. Do I extract all of them? I don't see one that just says cab. BTW, thank you so much for your help the last couple days.

you're welcome man.

you are attempting to unzip the cab file. you don't want to do that. just plug your phone into the computer and choose Disk Mode and then drag and drop or copy and paste the file to your phone.

am totly new to HTC world this my first smartphone in fact , and wow this a great stuff i have Htc touch pro but its locked to one network that i dont like $$$
could i use the flash also or i have to unlock it first
and what is best solution 4 unlocking the SIM
PS. am in Sweden and not in the USA

I've been reading loads and loads of tutorials about unlocking and flashing but I'm still a bit confused plus I'm scared s**tless to try it by myself. Will anyone be willing to lend a few moments to walk me through the process via chat or skype? I'm sure it's easier than I'm making it out to be but as I've stated, I'm scared to brick my phone

I'm pretty new to all this. I just bought a new CDMA HTC Touch Pro from Bell Mobilité (Quebec, Canada) and I'm disappointed that the GPS and FM radio functionalities have been disabled. I want to try the mightyROM that seems to work great, but I have some immensely newbie questions before proceeding.

- After applying the new ROM image, will I have to configure the phone number and other info to connect to my provider (with the ## code that I do not know), or will the device keep those settings?

- Can my provider know I put a new image on my device? I don't want to get surprises on my bill

- The newest version of MigthyROM includes WM6.5, but my device is running WM6.1. Can I still use this ROM without compromising the device?

Welcome to ppcgeeks.
1. Your phone will keep those settings.
2. Your provider will not know unless you tell them or bring it in to the store and show them.
3. When you flash a new custom rom, like mightyrom5, it will erase everything on your phone. Your phone will work fine. If you want to go back to the original Bell rom, then you can just download it and flash it just like you flash any of the custom roms.
