Having trouble with the RUU. I unlocked the phone with SPL 0.37, i can see it on the tri colored screen, but when i try to do the custom ruu, it says "Invalid Model ID"

Can someone help me out.

invalid model id usually means that you are trying to flash a rom for a different phone onto your phone. Did you get a rom from the touch pro upgrade forum of this site or are you sure the rom you're trying to flash is for a CDMA touch pro?

actually i tried mightyrom6, his newest one, worked fine, but i couldnt get the 4.8 or 4.6 to work. I did get the links for the roms on here in the TP.

4.8 and 4.6 are for the Diamond. those are located in the Diamond section of this forum.

I got one question. if we flash a lot (witch i do), should i first flash to a stock rom or does it really mater?

I personally don't think it helps, but i have seen it recommended in various threads. If you are having problems that others with the same rom are not having, even after doing a hard reset (Clear Storage), then i suppose it might help to flash back to shipped rom, then back to your custom rom. I've flashed my phone around 75 times and I've never flashed back to stock except for last week to try out the new official rom that alltel released.

hello... new to the site and new to the touch pro. want to try out some tweaks and roms, but am not sure about a stock rom for my specific carrier. got my tp from us cellular: RAPH800, ROM version 1.08.573.1, rom date 2/18/09, radio versiion 1.07.06F....anyone know of a stock rom that i can flash back to if i screw up or dont like any custom roms?? I gotta be sure i can get back to original/factory specs without bricking the phone, I cant afford to buy another one ...
