How To unlock and flash with Video Walk Through!

i cannot establish a connection when in bootloader mode.

There is only one question I had before I go ahead and attempt the unlock and flash. Should we hard-reset the phone before carrying out the unlock and flash? I've had my sprint tp for almost 6 months and there have been plenty of tweaks I have performed (thnx to ppc forums) so I was curious if that would effect the process.

Thanks for the reply! Just attempted my first ever flash with Mighty Rom 6 worked great and I am enjoying the rom. This was a great guide. One last final question if in the future a new flash is attempted (with a different rom) do we have to unlock again? Thanks again for the help and great guide.

you don't have to unlock again. it stays unlocked when flashing custom roms and radios

When I decide to flash another ROM, where do I find the "custom RUU" thats discussed in the video to upload the new ROM? The video mentions opening the mobile device center but it doesn't say where to find that utility....I was considering switching from MightyRom 4.16 to the Silence/Mighty ROM

Some of the MightyRoms come packaged as an exe file, so you just have to open the exe file and the flashing process will begin. But when you do download a rom and it's just the nbh file, then you'll need the RUU folder here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43266

You need to use WinRAR to extract/unzip a rar file. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

MightyRom 4.6 is for the Diamond. Are you sure you have that one on your touch pro?

Noob here....first post. I just had to switch out my Alltel version for a Verizon version and the Touch Flo of the new phone is horrible. I have downloaded a custom ROM, placed it on my phone, opened the .cab file, and installed it. Phone restarts and my theme is changed. Is this the correct way to do it? I didn't install the comex unlocker and use it like the video showed. Please excuse my ignorance.

I'm trying to flash Mighty ROM 4 for TP. I've downloaded the rom and extracted the files. My question is, how do I get the bootloader to start? I don't see a Nbh file to put in my RUU folder and I found a bootlauncher exe file to start the bootloader by itself, but it gives me an error when I select it. I have XP so I'm using activesync. Thanks
