Same as above try a different Radio. What version are you running? The service indicator for the 2.5 roms were buggy when I tried it. Click above for a new radio, or try the 2.1 rom.

alltel does indeed exist, just maybe not in your area. trust me, i fight on the phone with them every day. i started my plan in Montana, and verizon was prohibited from purchasing alltel in certain market areas, like this one. i now live in milwaukee, where alltel is long gone from, but i am still obligated to my contract until Apr. 2011. as far as unlocking and flashing roms, i have already done this. i think i'll try flashing 2.1, i love this rom and everything works great, except my stupid service indicator...

I had this same problem. I found a solution in the EnergyROM thread for the Fuze over on xda-developers here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=3242

Also, if you want a more general fix for texting (that includes the patch given above) try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=2482 (this is the fix I actually used; can't speak for the first one)
