Re: |H|ROM|6.5.3|WWE| * EnergyROM 'Phoenix 2' (28005/21877) |Nov27| Sense 2.1 and 2.

OK, I posted a while back about not being able to send txt messages while roaming, well I still cant. But I did find something else out today. On my way to work when I went through the roaming zone, I tried to place a call only to get a message saying "Welcome to Verizon Wireless, we are currently unable to authenticate your phone...." Any idea on this. I am on sprint btw, was just roaming on Verizon.

Thanks.

That is odd since VZW wouldn't even try to authenticate your phone unless your MDN/MIN/ESN(or MEID in this case) was in their switch. Only the home carrier switch would have your authentication info. Odd indeed if you are a Sprint customer with a Sprint phone. In any event, it would have nothing to do with any ROM, not that I can think of in any event.

Well I did look up some info(lot of reading, head hurts.) and apparently I need to call customer service and ask tech support to do a HLR Reload. So I will try this and post back results. Also, when i go to ##778# should anything be A-KEY? Mine is blank.

LOL an HLR reload will not help since reloading the HLR, if you are even on an HLR, would only fix it if your issue was with Sprint. More than likely, you need have have Sprint do a roaming ticket and have them contact Verizon to clear up the issue. More likely a VLR issue. Oh, and the AKEY field is always blank. If needed Spint could give you a new AKEY to input but as soon as it was saved you wouldn't see it again....that field is hidden.

I don't know, I'm lost in all this stuff. I just got that from reading here.

WINMO... Question for you. What is the benefit to changing the page pool size to 32 or even to 64? Are there any reasons NOT to do this? Thanks in advance.

Honestly Bro, I'm not positive. Just something I've never looked into. I've always left it alone. As I understand it, and it's a limited understanding, we Sprint users should be good with it to set to the default settings. The supposed benefit can be speed and the gain of some RAM but at the potential cost of stability.
I think some Verizon users mess with it since they need all the help they can get.
I've talked out of my butt enough, if someone more knowledgable on the subject would care to weigh in I'd apprecitate the schooling.

Thanks for the quick reply... I found the same thing from my few minutes of googling it. But I figured I'd as someone with way more knowledge than I have. If anyone else has any thoughts, I'd appreciate it. I just set a new ROM to 64 and am going to give it a whirl. Thanks again.

Well good luck. I tried that once on my Sprint TP and found that the memory loss was too great.

Also, I think that NRG set up his ROM at 24 and cannot be changed similar to Psyki (the last I read about this some months ago).

To test- check your total memory. I usually set the PP at 32 and have 184 left so setting it at 64 will give you dramatically less. I currently left the PP unchanged, my EnergyROM memory is 204.

What are you guys using for Google Voice, I have an account just haven't messed with it much.
I was going to post to warn people against setting this up...I kinda want to put my device through a wall with this software. It works..."ok", so I figured I would uninstall and revert back to standard voicemail, since I did NOT see a difference/time savings between calling into my voicemail from the notification, and clicking into a visual voicemail program through a notification to launch an audio player to play my voicemail.

Uninstalling has proven to be a major P in the A and I've been dealing with it fora few weeks now. I had to call Sprint customer service to try and get the call forwarding changed and they weren't able to do it over the air.

What's worse is the Fusion voicemail system uses text messages to alert you of new voicemail. These notifications worked for the first install, but did not survive flashes. It could be a conflict with this ROM, but my ultimate conclusion is that even if it was working great, it's a terrible piece of software.

What really kills me if you deactivate the software and cannot restore your default voicemail, callers get a message saying that your number is not in service.

I would not recommend installing Fusion VVM.

So far what I have tried is deleting all other servers in the server list except for Verizon (had to go into the registry to remove Sprint as it appeared to be the default...at least in the registry). Also, there was a line in the Registry which implied that it would default to the GSM setting and even had Verizon as the "ActiveGSM" key for MMS...most likely meaningless but still ironic. I edited/deleted these entries to point to or only leave the Verizon MMS server as an option for MMS setting. I am *intimately* familiar with everything Verizon, if you get my meaning, and am more than confident the settings are correct. Does anyone else with Verizon have an issue with MMS? Just FYI, I don't use MMS much so if your "fix" involves disabling th HTC MMS, installing Arcsoft, jumping up and down while waxing one off, then I will pass as it is not that serious for me...just perplexing. BTW, NRG, nice ROM. Coming from someone who has flashed ROMs since my 6700 over 3/4 years ago, this is some good shit. Keep up the good work!
MMS requires a bit of dancing to get working...unless you're sending MMS daily, I don't think it's worth it.
