Not saying no, but here's a thread from xda and they didnt have much luck getting rid of it. Posted in there is a reg edit to change the time it takes to reappear so if set long enough you may only have to slide it down once. Not much but...

EDIT: Did a lot of searching cuz I thought I read that there was a fix but now I don't think so. As always, be careful with any reg edits.

Dont know why you cant run the uninstall cab? Where did you get it from? The thread's attatched files? Did you try the one from Threefaces guide?(link in my sig) jmy doesnt mention the uninstall cab, maybe his steps do the same thing?

So I have read a lot of posts about the battery consumption of this ROM. I never paid much heed because I use Lumos and it isn't an issue for me...and if it were I would still use the ROM because it is just that good.
I had an interesting battery experience that I thought I would share. Maybe it will help someone or maybe someone can just explain it to me. Here goes: Two days ago (around nine in the AM) I had a fully charged battery and was messing around with Palringo and noticed that it has a location setting. I enabled it (which required me to enable GPS, phone>location setting) and it found me within seconds. I left the Palringo location setting on and within two hours my charge was down to 42%. I quit Palringo and disabled GPS, put my phone back on the charger until it was fully charged...about 1pm. With light use my charge dropped to 17% by 6pm. The next morning I hard reset and let Sashimi work it's magic and was back in business at noon with a full charge. I am posting this at 9:56pm the day after and my phone still has a 20% charge....that's 34 hours later with light to medium use and constant google push email. 24+ hours is what I am use to on this ROM. I just don't know what I changed by toggling the GPS that would have caused such a rapid battery drain.

Anywho, everything is back to normal and I hope my wordy story helps someone.

I feel like it's two steps forward, three steps back. I tried and tried and finally gave up and re-flashed. I followed the steps on the link you recommended. Now I can RECEIVE MMS, but can't send them....

Keeps saying that it's failed..

Im on Alltel. I run the removal cab, soft reset, run the carrier cab, soft reset, then the arcsoft cab, soft reset. With my arcsoft being alltel I have to use the version before the newest for it to work. Possible this could be an issue you are having, not positive.

As for my weather/gps issue......Now have google maps lockin in fast......BUT still connection error when trying to update weather.....?? wtf??

No my maps are on the sd card..And activated..I tryed installing from the sd & from the device and nothin happens..Mine takes up about 1gig

So now your problem is OPPOSITE of what it was before?! Just for clarity, what exactly have you done since the re-flash? Did you run the uninstall cab? Do you have the USCC carrier cab?

First the GPS on the phone is the single BIGGEST drain on the battery. The single largest battery hog as far as apps go is probably Palringo. Palringo was CONSTANTLY updating your position via GPS. Combine the two and there you go.

NRGZ twitter says 2.1 roms are uploading, but that he is too tired to update change log.. It doesn't look like the files at hotfiles have changed.. can anyone confirm?
