Lol. I had the same problem too when first flashing. Well just like every one is asking. Did you unlock? If not this is what you will need.

Just unzip and the file should contain the unlocker. After you have successfully unlocked then you will be able to flash any rom you want. The problem I was having that was similar to yours this is what I did to trouble shoot. When connected to your pc. Make sure the green sync is green and not gray. Also on the phone make sure the sync is synced. I usually press the button and make sure i see connected before flashing and or unlocking. After the unlock you should be fine.

I intalled the standart rom and opera 9.7 dont switch to landscape automatically. How do I get that switched on like stock setting?
