[ROM] [Sep 29] Psyki 4 - Custom Glass Manila 2.1 (23017.5.3.0)

Three things. I have had no problems with the My Location feature, I live in Ottumwa, IA, a city not in the database, yet when it updates, it does say Ottumwa, IA. So it's able to get the city name for most cities, however today I was in Hedrick, IA (About 12 miles away), and it either kept saying I was in Ottumwa, or finally changed to say "My Location", so I am guessing very small towns may not be displayed, or it may pick the next biggest town around you.

The second item has happened to me and a friend who's phone I flashed to Psyki's as well, our SMS icon will show a (1) for an unread message, yet I have none, I went as far as deleting every single sms message, including sent, drafts, and deleted items and it still says (1). I had to hard reset to clear it, a regular reset did not fix it.

Third item hasn't happened to me yet, and I haven't had a chance to look at my friends phone, but he normally doesn't change anything (doesn't really know how), anyways, if he is talking to someone on the phone and another call comes in (call waiting), after 3 rings his phone auto answers the incoming call and puts his original call on hold. If he quickly hits ignore when the call first comes in then it does not do this. He is not using a BT headset, so I don't think it's the headset profile setting set to answer at 3 rings.

If anyone has any suggestions for my 2nd and 3rd item, I would appreciate it.

Other than that, so far this has been my favorite rom ever.

Try resetting the device and then installing the cab file. It worked for me. My eyes thank Psyki for the Tahoma font.

Then delete the key that say something about sms\text

It's all good man, I read up on some stuff; the files were locked in ROM and thusly not as editable as ones not in ROM. I downloaded a ROM editor and replaced the files manually, then re-flashed. It worked perfectly!

I'm REALLY loving this rom, it's excellent!

I appreciate the quick response, tho I guess my next question is what would cause this? Both of our phones have exhibited this, mine for the first time today after 4-5 days of it being flashed, his happened the 2nd day it was flashed.

Is it possible a SMS is being delivered but somehow not being delivered to the inbox and lost somewhere in lala land?

i have no clue how it could have happened, personally, it's never happened to me i just remember psyki had posted the reg fix a while back and searched for it

i would assume it could crop up perhaps during restoration of pim volumes, especially if u use multiple backup sources like pimbackup, ms my phone, spb, google sync, etc...

one setting i always change in my messaging options under storage is to empty deleted items immediately, i dont know if this has anything at all to do with sms but it helps keep anything lingering in my trash for long unread or not..

Mine did this when I tried to recieve a picture message before I remembered to change my MMS server settings to USCC. I Changed settings, backed up , hard reset, restored and have not had the problem since. Hope this helps.

please guys. im sorry to intrupt but i reallly need help! i just started flashing my pro cause basically everyone was doing it and it was the way to go. searched around and went through alot of diffrent roms and i hit this one AND I LOVE IT! i want to keeeep it so bad but i got a big problem!

*when i goto fav's and click "all people" from there it takes me to this nice looking contacts screen with big names and it looks great. only problem is i can click on the people and when i click on CALL MOBILE or something, IT JUST WONT DO IT! nothing happens. i mean like a couple times it went right away to calling someone but like 85% of the time. NOTHING and i mean nothing happens. it shows i click call mobile, and nothing happens. however if i click send sms it takes me to the sms. seems like only the call function does work from that menu. now i can still goto programs and contacts and it takes me to the old looking one and it works on there. but that is a REAL PAIN! i want to be able to call my favs and use that nice contacts menu. iv already tried to RELOAD the rom a couple times and nothing, i even tried loading the STOCK rom and than load this PSYKI v4 (newest build) but nothing!
PLEASE PLEASE any help would be great. i realllly want to keep this. its byfar the fastest, nicest, and most stable one iv used.

You raise a very interesting point, my roms should work with any CDMA carrier but if you are not on sprint there may be unique carrier settings missing to detect the number of unread txt messages. In the short term there is a way to set the counter back to zero, I will post a cab for that soon.

The count and every thing worked fine for text messages, but when my wife texted a pic it was not there, but it showed up on my counter. I remembered I had not set up the USCC server setting, when I did every thing worked OK, but the counter still always showed 1 remaining. Thats when I hard reset and it went away.
