Yes, I am having text message problems as well.
Edit: My problem happens when I try to send a new text message. I start from Touch Flo, click mesages - all messages - menu - New. I forgot that I must put the text in first, then the address, and started typing in the To: field, select a contact. then I realized I had to do the text part first, so I hit backspace a few times, and my phone locks up solid, and I have to soft reset.

Is this normal for the Touch Pro (I have only had this phone for less than a week).

nope, definitely not normal... but i think he's working on it. psyki- this rom looks great and am truly impressed by the way looks and works, but with that said, i have to move to something else as the battery drain is just killing me. now that i have all my programs/ emails installed and am back to my normal usage- i.e. making phone calls and lots of text messages- it barely lasted 4 hours after a full over-night charge. thanks for your hard work, and i'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread. good luck.

Re: PsykiROM v1.0 - Rhodium Manila VERY FAST! - [21042] [TP2] [UC]

As my info states, I am a "lurker." I've ran this ROM for a day and I am very impressed. I know that's not really saying much as there is a list of more impressive people that have complimented you, but hey, good job. I have used SEVERAL ROMs, but only 2 Rhodium ones, and I've read about all the bugs, and so I thread carefully when downloading Rhodium ROMs. Aside from the known issues (or issue really), I have not had any bugs with this ROM. No text messaging, YouTube, Contact Picture, camera, or Opera issues. But, since we want to keep you humble :evil4: ,
there are a few things that slow down perfection for me.
One, is that since I use Resco Contacts, my "send" key launches this contact software automatically. So the lack of a phone.ink type file means I can't get into my dialer. I usually can get it from the Start Menu or map it to a soft key so that I may use the stock dialer that I like, and Resco Contacts which I also like. If you can point me in the right direction to be able to launch my dialer that would be great!
Two, Launching Resco Explorer takes a little longer than usual, although I noticed this for the first time when I was running Silence 9.
Three, the auto rotation is slow out of the box for me.
But anyway, the only thing I really need is the ability to launch my phone from somewhere other than the "send" key. GREAT job, and look forward to your future releases. And sorry for the long post...

Oh, and there was a question about mms earlier, and I've used Arcsoft for the last 5 ROMs I've flashed and it's worked every time w no troubles, including this one. And as far as battery drain, I mess w the Pol Interval in the Registry i.e.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Battery
Default on most roms
PollInterval REG_DWORD 20000-DEC
changed to:
PollInterval REG_DWORD 1250-DEC
That's an example, but different values seem to work differently for different ROMs. And I got that info from a cab posted by TaylorSPJ over at smartphonejunkie. I am still messing with the values for this ROM. And as always, please try at YOUR own risk.

I have tried this fix, and re-applied it after you mentioned it, but the specific lockup error I'm getting is still there. Happens every time, without fail. Can you reproduce my error?

The CAB fixed the bug on my phone, that's weird!

Hey guys, I was AFK for a bit so let me digest your posts and see what I can come up with. Pretty sure I can nail down facebook and SMS problems down in the next release. Also working on battery issues, I've been testing newer drivers and reg tweaks and after about 6 hours of use my battery went down about 60%. Better but not great... Hard to tell which performance tweaks are hitting the battery the hardest.

What's the point of doing this? It's not like there's not enough room for this icon. How do I get to my "dialer" besides clicking on a contact and making a "fake" call to the them? All just to bring up my phone? Is there a shortcut to the phone anywhere?

Also how do I remap the softkeys. The standard file explorer is a joke. And since SMS is on the first set of TF3D tabs it makes it redundant to have it as the right soft key as well.

Noted. I will add the phone shortcut back to the "settings" control panel. I believe you can get to the phone from anywhere by pressing the phone hard button in any application, you don't have to open a contact to do it. Do you have suggestions for other ways to access the phone? Personally I hate seeing it in the start menu.

I included the LSK map to file explorer simply because I have Resco mapped to the LSK but understand not everybody does. What would you guys like to see the softkeys mapped to on the home tab?

You can remap the soft keys on the home tab in HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila. There you should see HomeLSKPath, HomeLSKText and the same for RSK.

Noted. I will include the CDMA fix in the next release. I incorrectly assumed that since the CDMA fix 1 fixed the "insert sim card" error that I did not need the CDMA fix 2 installed. Thanks for the tip!

Contact, Camera, and File Explorer.... any two combination from those three. Preferably, I'd like it to be File Explorer & Contact

There is a way to map the RSK to the 'all contacts' view but I haven't been able to get it to work... I had it once but lost the settings somehow GRRR.

Camera is a good one, I'll consider that one. Hell, it's a piece of cake to make tabs to toggle that stuff on and off. Thanks for the tips.

Ok, I found it on the XDA forums. I tried it and it works!

Code:

HomeLSKArguments (or HomeRSKArguments) : modify value to "Contacts"
HomeLSKPath (or HomeLSKPath ) : modify value to "\windows\poutlook.exe"
HomeLSKText (or HomeLSKText) : modify value to "Contacts" (for exemple)

You're on the right track but the mapping I'm looking for switches to the manila "all people" view you get when you are on the contacts tab. I had it once but stupidly deleted the exact reg keys. Doh.

There are cabs around, check the main rhodium page on xda. It's just a matter of flipping a few registry bits, really.

I think you might also have to get rid of the programs tab, otherwise every time you launch a program from there it will activate the start menu. I think................... Frankly I played around with it and it was too buggy. Again it's just my personal opinion, but the one thing that did in the new start menu for good was that the "All Settings" button sometimes breaks on the "Settings" tab. Just how the F#!$ are you supposed to see the control panel then??

As far as the soft keys go, it doesn't matter what you map them to. It is easy enough to remap them with Key Swop, Diamond Tweaks, Advanced Config, and a number of other programs. I like to have the phone mapped since my hard key for the dialer maps itself to Resco Contacts and I have not figured out how to undo this. Just have the phone somewhere in there where I can map it. Doesn't have to be in the Start Menu. And for what is worth, I have found that setting my batter poll interval at 2250 improves battery life.

Are you sure about setting the poll interval so low? It sounds contrary, but I *believe* that the lower the number, the less frequently it checks the battery... I set mine down to 1250, ran with wifi, bt and gps on and it sat at 45% for a good 30 minutes. Soft reset and it said 35%. I highly doubt a soft-reset took up 10% power, so I wonder if my battery % just wasn't updating.

Well, to be honest, I am not sure. I've played around with these values and although, I can't quantify it, I have noticed different results for different ROMs. I set it at 1250 for a few hours on your ROM, and didn't seem to make a difference. Over the last four hours, I've had it set at 2250 and noticed a "slow down" in the battery drain, and just for kicks, I just soft re-set and it did go down 1%, but that seems normal to me. I'm not trying to reveal the next break through on battery performance, since it really boils down to phone use and quality of the battery to a certain extent, but it's worth some playing around with. Thanks again BTW!

Ok, anyone else have this problem? It will not start Manila 3d. I just falshed and performed a hard reset, clean brand new system: It says click here to start Touch Flo 3d, and the screen flickers a bit but nothing happens. Any Ideas? I have a VZW TOuch Pro. I think I'll go back to juicy rom. This Psyki rom was fast tho, fastest I've seen, and hella faster than SSK, lol.

I think other VZW users have had no problem, otherwise I might suspect a pagepool issue. I have never had that problem. I assume everything looked normal during the initial boot/setup process?

Installed it yesterday, after about trying 5 different roms in the past few weeks, I had the comment from my wife and co-workers that this is one of the best looking/feeling ones I've had. Kudos!

I did find one issue maybe someone here can help me with: Music tab.

The menu button appears to be broken, click it, it goes no where. It lights up and just brings up the menu which is where you can do shuffle etc.

Not a problem man, its relatively minor IMO, since I can open WM or TCPMP. (or install Core) Just a minor annoyance I figured I'd mention.

Just so I can make sure also, any known issues with updating via Sprint? (Such as the PRL?) I know some ROMs have caused issues if people try to update, so figured I'd ask.

Oh and one other thing, would it be possible to add in MS Voice Commander in a future update. Don't beleive its too large of a file, but really helpful in areas where hands free is mandatory.

This is a strange battery issue - but seems par for the course with this ROM. I had it on the charger all last night pulled it off this morning and it was at 100% and used it for about a minute or two. I then placed it back on the charger, for about 15 minutes and then pulled it off and it was at 10%. I have the lowbatterymeterfix installed which fixed the issue when I first flashed. I've never had a battery issue like this on this ROM since installing this fix.
