PsykiROM v1.0 - Rhodium Manila VERY FAST! - [21042] [TP2] [UC]

PSYKI ROM v1.0

PSYKI ROM v2 OUT NOW

This is a fast, very stable, simple TP2 Rhodium Manila ROM. While not a "loaded" ROM I think you'll find most of the applications a typical TP hacker uses and some of my personal touches. Everything works consistently and very smoothly. I chose to disable the Manila start menu and use the programs tab instead because the start menu was unstable for me, plus the "All Settings" link sometimes breaks on the settings tab. Experiment with the Manila start menu at your own risk.

Any and all feedback is welcome!!

UPDATE 1: If you are having issues with the battery meter showing a low charge, try installing the attached CAB and soft-reset.
UPDATE 2: Run attached CAB to map G-Alarm to the clock button as a potential fix for the clock roll-back issue! Soft-reset after install.

Thanks for the quick replies! Any feedback would be great, my roommate and I have been running it for a few days and it screams, but I'm probably too close to the project :)

To install it is as easy as copying the exe or a lnk into the \windows\startup\ folder. But I highly recommend against it as it causes MAJOR slowdowns when changing between portrait and landscape mode. VERY annoying.

+1 to that. Vista Hide battery gauge has been known to make your phone lag really bad. Try this instead. This version only installs the battery gauge, not the memory gauge. It looks almost identical to vista hide battery gauge.

Sweet, thanks for the CAB. I liked Vistahide but had no problems letting it go when I realized it was the source of the slowdowns.

No I cooked in TCPMP which is what I use. This ROM is basically what I use myself, but if people overwhelmingly want Coremedia I might consider it...

So, where do I put this nbh file to start the run of the ROM? Where's the RUU.exe file?

It easily becomes quite an addiction, let me tell you ;) There is kind of a barrier to entry but it just takes time to get familiar with the tools. You can't really speed up the learning process.

Hmm, not sure about that... The SYS is actually kind of a compilation from multiple kitchens I used. Only one way to find out :)

Awesome! Thanks for the report. How does the speed compare to other rhodium ROMs you have tried? Do you have any other feedback?

Yay, it's released! Maybe Psyki can get some sleep, finally. :P

I've been using this build for a few days and it's easily the most complete "out of the box" Rhodium-enabled ROM I've seen. Stable and very very fast!

Awesome!~ I really liked the Vista Hide Battery gauge and was sorry to see it go for performance reasons. Installing this now!

Seems just as fast. I like that you have the different clocks already there to choose from. I also like the blue and the white sprint slider. After adding the silver clear clock everything is perfect...now to use SSMaHo to remap the clock to open G-Alarm...

I really dug the blue :) I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to whip up a CAB to change the colors... I will investigate.

Thanks! Yeah I really like the silver clock as well, I figured I'd use black as default to appease the masses though ;)

I just read about SSMaHo somewhere recently, I love G-Alarm so I'll definitely look into that. Thanks for the tip!

I have seen this problem on occasion, I do not know what causes it or why it seems to happen intermittently. It does not happen to my roommate on the same hardware, same ROM, go figure. There is a fix but proceed at your own caution...

Go to HKLM\Security\ResOver\Bitmaps
and change BatteryIconLevels to 101 dec, or 65 hex.

Hope that helps!

this is making me come closer to flashing again (haven't since my 6700 days, currently running highly tweaked sprint stock) -- are there any issues with running the stock sprint apps after this ROM is installed (sprint nav, sprint TV)?

an aside -- how can i make a ROM image of what i am running RIGHT NOW?

this sounds like a really interesting rom. I'm sitting back waiting for the new work done by Xbmod from the shipped diamond2 rom he mentions on his post at xda. He seems to imply that most of the bugs have been worked out!

I know with SPB Backup you can do a full system backup, but it will only restore to the original ROM. If you flash to a different ROM it will not restore.

I believe the stock sprint apps will work fine, but I did not include them in this ROM. They shouldn't be too hard to find on this board.

i'm using Sprite Backup right now, so all my backups won't work until i have a Stock Sprint ROM to go to first, right? now to find that . . . .

I have to big questions.

1. Is the issue with the clock going back 1 hour an issue in this rom ?
2. When you have appointments in your calender, can you see more then one on the home screen at a time ?

I think you'd be surprised how stable this ROM is. I haven't had a single Manila problem with my current configuration. The new start menu doesn't work 100% but everything works great with the standard programs tab. I've been following his work and with 1D it really seems to come together.

1. Yes I believe that is still an issue, when you tap on the clock it will roll back one hour. I saw a fix somewhere but have not looked in to it...
2. I haven't confirmed this but in previous builds of rhodium manila I believe you could see more than one... I believe there is a fix for this as well, that may remove the "call history" button. Something to add to the list :)

Edit: You can see two calendar appointments on the home tab if you scroll down to see them.
