JT one more thing....what about the order of the installs? How can I change that if I wanted something to be installed before something else?

In a OEM package this does not matter...

The only thing that MAY come to play is the execution of the RGU/provxml (Registry) files...

IE... If you update some key in a OEM1 to set
HKLM\Software\HTC\1=GoodBye
and in OEM2 change what was already set by OEM1 to:
HKLM\Software\HTC\1=Hello

it will make a difference...

but nothing else should matter...

Naturally you cannot have same files across OEMs if you do, you can use either PackageBuilder or... just delete the duplicate file... (preferably the older one)

It will NOT get packaged correctly...

Cab2OEM creates the option.xml FOR YOU in the OEM package folder...

this means BuildOS will give you a check-able choice when you build...

IF BuildOS crashes, it means you have another Option.xml calling the Exact same name...

You're such a fountain of knowledge, thanks for that last tip about Cab2OEM, but I'd like a program just as easy where I can recompile a cab. What I want to do is to alter the cab option/setup.xml so the it eliminates the install directory variable and installs directly to the SD card. I was going to try cabwiz online, but that's been down for quite a while to "squash bugs". Do you have another easy alternative.

Thanks in advance

Bob

Sashimi does this, the only catch is that you'll either Script so it runs on initial Flash... OR... just manually run it..

you take all the cabs you want to install in a SD Card, stick it in Storage Card\Sashimi\Auto\Cab\SC directory...

when you run the AUTO mode in sashimi it'll install everything in that dir to SC Card.

That's the reason I was asking. That's what I've been doing, but all cabs that are in the SD folder, each asks me "where I want to install it" and I have to click on either Main or Storage Card. I thought modifying the XML would solve that for me.

Not hard?

all you need to do is take the Reg and copy it to ANY RGU file using Notepad...

you do need trailing press the enter key at the Very last line of the RGU to insert return character.

My thought was as I described above, unzip the cab, change %Location% in the xml file to show the storage card, then recompile it to a cab. That's why I need an easy cab creator so that I can recompile it (and hope it works)
