I'm not using 21042, but started getting a similar problem about a month ago. The keyboard works, then appears to lag a bit, then stops accepting input altogether. The only way to get it working again is to soft-reset.

I'm about to flash with 1.6rA and hopefully the problem will go away. I hope it's not a hardware issue but when I googled it, there were several posts about it from sprint TP users (I'm using a VZW TP).

If it doesn't go away with the new flash, I'm going to have to do a warranty claim on it.

Searchnig through the thread, having some trouble with outlook being able to send emails. Its very intermitent and seems to fail more than it succeeds... Im on gmail and will be updating to 1.6A 21042 tonight. Thanks Scott!

For all those who use S2A... Doesn't it take FOREVER to load on incoming calls? i stopped using it because I hated how long it took to respond... was there a fix that I don't know about or... have u guys just accepted the faith...?

Sorry if I missed this somewhere in this enormous thread, but I can't make it to Step 2. It lauches BuildOS, I select my selections, hit the green go button, it does its thing, and then says done at the bottom, and nothing else happens. The cmd window continues to show Step 1 of 7 and nothing else happens.

I am running XP. Anyone know what is causing this?

Just close BuildOS and the .bat file will run the other 6 steps.

Unrelated:

After choosing the options in BuildOS, I click the play button, and get an error in temp/dump/windows.mobile.dll(not exact filename, but close) already exists. I click ok, and go about the flash as normal, but I'm having trouble getting the phone to boot up now. I thought it may be because I was trying out a 6.5 sys, but it is giving me the same error on 21042.

if you get an error in build os you have to rerun it. if theres an error and you continue to cooking process it wont work properly.

what the error is saying is that there are duplicate files somewhere in the kitchen use windows explorer, search for the file name thats giving you the error and see exactly where it is.
