Re: 8 APR 09 - UPD 24: SSKUsers.com is online! - 12 OS'es to cook with, 9 Bonus ROM's

I installed the 21042 Basic ROM from your site and it's real fast. However, there's a problem with my text messages not being sent. After doing some testing, it seems that when creating a new message, typing in the name for the "To" box, then selecting the contact name from the bottom of the screen, the "To" address appears as the number "2" after sending. If a name is punched into the "To" box and the contact name is selected from the short list near the top instead, the message will send okay to the recipient. Hope this makes sense. I also did a hard reset after flashing and didn't do anything else to it. I'd actually like to try your B2B and R4R releases instead, but can't find them on the SSKUsers site. Sorry, I should add that whenever messages appear with the number "2" as the recipient in the sent list, the message isn't sent, and the "2" isn't a speed dial number or anything either.

It's probably crashing because you don't have a SYS and ROM folder in the kitchen. You need to download the OS of your choice from Scott's Page and copy those two folders into the kitchen and then everything should work fine.

This is prolly the only kitchen I have never had any problems with. Runs smooth every time....... I think Bob is correct.

Yep that was it. I guess I didnt think of that since I have only used JDs and Erices kitchen which already has those included. This is much more flexible. Thanks for helping out a novice chef.

Re: 8 APR 09 - UPD 24: SSKUsers.com is online! - 12 OS'es to cook with, 9 Bonus ROM's

this may have been asked before, but i wasn't able to find any reference to it. i have this lockup issue with the SMS. when i type in letters, the keyboard at the bottom of the screen will suggest certain addresses/phone #'s from my exchange contacts. however, the moment i type in another letter that does not match any of my existing contacts, the SMS program (pocket outlook) seems to lockup the phone completely. do people know what's going on?

i'm using SSK 1.6A cooked with build 21042. i remember also checking the ArcSoft MMS program in the kitchen.

I have no solution for you. My only thought is to be patient. Depending on the list of contacts, when it starts searching for a contact with that particular, it might take a while before it gets to the end of the list and let's you proceed. The only other thought it try unchecking the box (I think in Messaging - might be in INput) that says 'autocomplete"..

If you are using Rhodium, TP2, there is an issue with SMS. Go to http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=61809 There are either 1 or 2 fixes for the SMS problem.

bob, actually i realized this is a pocket outlook issue. it gives suggestions to all the "to:" fields and gets stuck pretty easily--screen does not refresh etc. i tried disabling auto-suggestion etc but that didn't seem to do anything to the pocket outlook. maybe i will try the demo version of flexmail...
