Lets not argue, just kind of a poll.... ;)

18 to 20 is what I recomend for Sprint or any phone with the large memory model.

9 to 10 is what I recoemnd for VZW Pro.

Not really sure if the "symselector.exe" file is a complete solution or only piece of the puzzle.
I've been searching for the symselector.exe or symselector.cab files without any luck.

Thanx for your feedback.

I see a lot of sprint users with 24 or 32. Many of us Verizon guys use 12, so doubling to 24 would seem logical to me.

Also some of them use 0 and like that, as it lets the OS decide how much it wants to use. On a Verizon phone, that's suicide :evil4:

Hi Jucy,

Using both S2U2 and PS is not advised... you will get conflicts trust me I've tried... I find PS to be better ergonomically, and it uses less resources.

PS latest version also works well w/Ageye GAlarm, though once in awhile it does crash:

I also use SPB Time to supplement windows alarm engine and find it's really all I need, no conflicts, no crashes, just works:

I personally use 16MB with the 21015 build on my Sprint TP. I tried 8, 10, 12, 14 and found that 14 seems to be the lowest I can go without getting any quirkiness, so then I upped it to 16 just to be sure. I like to go low as you can see.

S2U2 question:

When I disconnect from a phone call, I want the screen to lock. I have tried hitting the home button then the power button. The screen comes on and it is unlocked. What setting do I need to change?

BTW why in the world would someone assume that after hanging up the phone we'd want the screen to turn on?!?

Also I am using a kitchen with my VZW TP. What is the best recommended ROM for VZW?

I use 24, sometimes 32, depends on my mood that day. :D

Now since you use Sprint, please pleeeeeeeeaaassee let me know if you are or are not experiencing the issues I list at the end of the post as we have no idea what is going on and if you are not having them then it just might be something between this kitchen and my specific phone.

They are not huge issues, but can become little pet peeves of mine, hehe. Please help me discover if it is just my phone.

Issues:

EPST doesn't work, either through ##codes or trying to execute epst through File Explorer.

SMSRetry shortcut seems to be broken I have no idea why.

Clear Storage in settings does not work, just as if the shortcut was broken as well. A generic icon shows up.

There is an issue with the r, when not used as the first letter when looking for a name in contacts, for instance typing p-e-r, as soon as the r is pressed it goes into dialing mode and dials I don't know where.

Thanks!

I nearly puked, thinking I had damaged the LCD. I intended to hit Scott up, since I think it was him who dismantled the thing so I could find replacement parts instead of flashing it back to stock. This morning I saw that the mark is gone!!!

This leads the the actual question: Has anyone else experienced anything similar? It could be an issue with it being cold, but it was in my pant pocket, and my leg should have kept it warm enough.

Don't know if anyone's responded since I'm about 2 days behind, but LCD's are affected by cold. I'd test mine, but it's kinda difficult down here in FL

I figure I'd do a search in the XML for Red and change it to Orange, if it's that easy, and change REDPHO~1.000 TO ORAPHO~1.000. Then, how do I edit the last file? Notepad doesn't read it properly.

Thanks!

It is the timeout that will make the device return to the Today screen after a period of non use. In other words, if you have it set to 2 hours and go into a program/screen and don't use the device for 2 hours, it will show/return to the Today screen instead of showing the program/screen that you were in when you turn the device back on before the timeout period expires.

Scott,

I started chasing the VPN problem again, and found that this thread got reduced in size, eliminating where we left off. I narrowed the problem down to 128 bit encryption on PPTP traffic. If I disabled encryption on my firewall I could use VPN. Is there a fix for this?

wow what happened to the thread?!

Well I have been running a kitchen-cooked 20954 ROM for the last couple days and I really like it. Stable as a rock and I've been using the hell out of it. Haven't had ONE lock up and the random pausing has been minimal. Fast as heck too.

As mentione previously, I've tried just about every 6.1 build version that Scott has offered in his kitchens and it really came close between 20954 and 20931, but 20954 has the speed advantage on MOST things.

Very happy with this rom though, thanks Scott!

MightyMike's thread got the axe too. Scott had nothing to do with it. I noticed earlier today that Mikes took the hit first, so I pretty much expected this.

This is my last post off-topic, but bob, check your PM

I've not tried 20954 yet, but I preferred 20931 over 21015 personally. I'll give 20954 a shot tomorrow.

I lied, this is a bit OT also, but You might want to go into the user control panel/edit options and change your view from default to "40" posts per page. It's a lot easier to navigate.

Weird issue here....
I've been running 20931 for over 24 hours on Kitchen C2. Just reflashed to play around. Only difference is I added Youtube and removed both GPS apps. Now when I "Use GPS" in GoogleMaps, after about 5 seconds my phone soft-resets itself. Any ideas?? The GPS apps arent neccasary for GPS to work right? They just speed up locks if needed?? Little help here...
