I told you we shoulda made a new thread!!

I'm having lockup issues with 21015. I don't know what to revert to anymore... I guess I'll go back to the good ole 20764.

Just the 40 bit. Thats why I went from a Clarkconnect VPN end point to a microsoft one on a 2k3 server. No problems connecting at all.

I'm actually installing right this second. I've been saying that I was going to try it for a while, finally doing it. I let you know in about 15 minutes how it works....hopefully :silent:

Anyone having any VZ Navigator issues on 21015. As soon as it loads it just quits.....

I just flashed to the new preferred b2b rom. Everything is great, however diamond tf3d tweak isnt included in this rom! I installed it myself, but I get errors when ever I run it... anyone else having this issue?

Whatever one you decide that you want to install, make sure the the version on the phone is turned off before trying to install. Otherwise there will be problems....
To turn off= Settings/today/Items....uncheck TF3D

The regular version of the file "tweaks.xml" doesn't work on this phone. To be sure we are talking about the same app, just rename that file to "tweaks.old" and try again....I think it will work, but you won't have any tweaks showing under the tweaks tab.

If this works, post back, and I'll re=post a tweaks file that does work

OK, with just installing the 1 cab.....it works.....but its very buggy. Not something I coud live with, but it is cool to play with. I guess going with the files in post 2 and the "fix" might be all better. I'm not going to play with it anymore though.

EDIT: Ok so I did play some more....and its not too bad actually. Just dont stop "Start" from running in TaskManager. Pretty smooth, but not near as fast as regular TF3D. My guess is its much faster on a Sprint TP

Thanks stang.. i'm sure its just a matter of time before it is refined enough to go to the TP. Oh well, I'm loving the 20931 RevB kitchen I have now, so no complaints here.

Except for battery life... but I just ordered the extended 1800mAh from big red today.

Worked, thanks. Sad thing is, i knew that... I've had to do it in the past... I dont need any tweak files, just want to get rid of a few unused tabs. Thanks again!

As far as I know, you're correct....they are just aids and test tools. However, if you reflashed, you might have also deleted the Emperis (?sp) that you previously had from QuickGPS. That would definitely mean a longer time to get your initial fix. No clue why the phone is resetting.

It still locks just as quick as before, like 5-7 seconds...but then it resets ](*,)
EDIT: Guess I'll reflash and build with the GPS tools to see if it reverts back to all is well

How do i use the windows mobile dialer with S2A? i recall seeing a Cab that allowed to do this... anyone know what i'm talking aobut?

Yeah, I dont know. Thats why all ROM's come with GPS Tools ;c)

FPOS noted the same thing in PM. Its funny we were just talking about this.

I dont think you can??

I do howerver use WinMO dialer with S2U2 and its pretty nice.

You can't.

If you want a really nice s2a that works with the WinMo dialer, check out PocketShield. IMHO, PS is hands down the best locking program for a TouchPro & I've tried/used them all.

Thanks for the great ROM. I got everything working finally (including the GPS). The only thing I've noticed is the MS Messenger wouldn't launch. I installed it from a cab and now I have that going. I also noticed that when I click on a link in my email it launches IE not Opera. I'll have to figure out a way to fix that.

every time i reet phone HTC GPS tool behaves differently.
Not once can TomTom get a GPS lock (MAJOR bug)
Phone randomly resets or locks up on random apps. (MAJOR bug)
TF3D Config will not launch (minor... but, this really sucks)
plus a few other annoyances... sigh.

really need this much free memory with 'stable' 20764 R4R.
flashing back now.

Scorsler am i missing something or are all the extra keyboards missing in your 20746 build? this is the second build with the same problem. other than that they work great for the vzn phones.

Are you using the kitchen?
If so, you must install the HTC keyboard.

Hmmm...

I've been using 21015 for days now and aside from the occasional lag-lock that Bast and a few other have mentioned, I have not had ANY GPS issues. I'm using both TT 915.9196 and GXT 5.00.20W, full NA/USA maps, heavily customized and no issues. Heck, I even had them both running simultaneously the other day just for laughs and giggles as I drove around, and not one problem, though they did suck 20MB of RAM. Thankfully, SSK 15C2 allows me to get about 62MB free after disabling TF3D... woo hoo!!!

My acid test for any ROM is GPS performance, and so far 21015 has been a winner for me. That being said, I will be doing some further tests on 20954, as a number of posts here have pointed to that build being the best mix of performance and stability.

FWIW, I also run PocketShield with S2A dialer, along with about 50+ other apps and have no issues.

I use SASHIMI to do all my cab installs post flash, and currently trying/struggling to finalize full customize/provision using that and CERegEditor (for reg diffs) and Resco Backup Desktop (for file diffs).

Anyways, my point is this: I have used Scott's Kitchen and ROMs on both XV6800/Titan and this XV6850/TGimP platform, and they are-- hands down the best tools out there for the VZW platform:headbang:

Well I have been running a kitchen-cooked 20954 ROM for the last couple days and I really like it. Stable as a rock and I've been using the hell out of it. Haven't had ONE lock up and the random pausing has been minimal. Fast as heck too.

As mentione previously, I've tried just about every 6.1 build version that Scott has offered in his kitchens and it really came close between 20954 and 20931, but 20954 has the speed advantage on MOST things.

Yeah, 21015 is fast but I doubt its stability. Had a few random reports....

Wouldl you guys be interested in signing up to YAF? Lets say this forum was hosted entirely by me and on any subjects you want about the ROM. Maybe a entire board for each build?

Maybe some off topic stuff.... Maybe look like this?

Please run 931 or 954, we now 20764 is the most stable... I think 931 and 954 are faster and stable.

I dropped 21015 because it acted funky on me once or twice with GPS. Only when using VZ Navigator and the VZW drivers for it. I got pissed and just gave up for now. The rest of the builds are finew with GPS which is why I am going back. GPS is a MUST for me. Not even going to keep the phone if I cant have GPS ;c(

The build reacts differntly with GPS apps than the other builds. For example: VZ NAvigator will NOT run... even with the correct drivers...

I have seen things like this before between builds. There is a build out there that will not run any older SPB produts correctly as well. SPB had to make some updates. I dont think VZW will for VZ Navigator as it shoudl only be used on Stock ROM.

Plus it could just be a poopy sys file set. You never know.

Right now I am back at 20954.... Still think its the best....
