You checked "use clear type fonts in landscape" in one of the tweak apps... very common mistake, lots of threads about it.

Just use that same tweak app and undo it... all will be right in the world once again!

If the file is encoded then your tool is not working. they are all JPG files. You cannot use standard archive programs on CAB files. YOU MUST use something like WinCE Cab mgr. UNLESS you know what youa re doing.... SO go download the trial of WinCE Cab MGR.

From there there NO, NONE, ZERO, reg edits in the cab. The files are just graphics, extract them and modify them then re-cab them.

Thats what you want to do. There is NOTHING in the registry that controls these colors.

Sorry if I am short.... At work ;c(

I extracted with WinRAR. I can access all the files in editable form with Photoshop other then the REDPHO~1.000 file. I'll grab that program and see what I can do.

hope that helps.

Just tried your C2 version of the 21015 SYS and XIP and for some reason the UC is unable to execute through the first part of my SDConfig.txt file. This is what it looks like:

Code:

LOCK:Enabled
 CPY1:\Storage Card\xcopyce.exe
 CPY2:\Temp\xcopyce.exe
 EXEC:\Temp\xcopyce.exe
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\GCz.cab
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\PictureMail.cab
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\PocketShield.cab
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\GoogleMaps.CAB
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\hTorch.cab
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\AudioFix.cab
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\sdkcerts.cab
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\tsowentaskbar3v1.4.cab
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\nuePowerDriver.cab
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\nuePowerCPL.cab
 CAB: \Storage Card\Cabs\LiveSearchWM6.CAB
 XML: \Storage Card\Cabs\provisioning.xml
 LOCK:Disabled
 RST: Reset

it sticks at the point where it says executing xcopyce. Worked in the revision B kitchen.

Bob and I both noted that the UC is much more picky with the 21015 build.

Both Bob and I had it skip the calibration settings for some reason whe certain cabs installed. Its just wierd.

Well, I grabbed WinCE CAB Manager and there's a LOT more info there then I originally thought. After looking at this, my assumption is that all of the "readable" files are the uncompressed versions of files it doesn't know how to deal with directly, and all the others are combined within the REDPHO~1.000.

I can extract each of the files and change them with Photoshop once I get home. Shouldn't be hard to do and test. If you'd like, once I get done with it and it works, I could send it to you to test and see if it's something you can include later.

Thanks again!

whats up scotty! alright so here is some more feedback on the b2b rom after a few days of use:

-much faster. smooth as well. loving the new theme and highlights. love the battery percentage too! everything goes pretty fast, boot up time is awesome. overall not bad, have had some issues that are listed below:

-had the phone freeze up yesterday, alarm didnt go off. was charging it as well. this morning, alarm went off so it might have been random freezing. used the advice from a post before and unchecked the today timeout.

-one thing i have noticed is that my data connection is always active and does not go into idle mode anymore. when i update my weather or use gps, it will just stay active throughout the day unless i manually shut data off. i wonder if this is affecting my battery life. any thoughts on this from anyone?

-when i send or receive an MMS, the sms/mms prog is not accessible for a few minutes. meaning that when i try to click on a message from TF3d nothing happens. if i click "all messages" or the new message tab nothing happens. then everything loads up all at once.

-finally, it seems like my battery life has gone down a bit. dunno if its cuz i can actually see the percentages now lol or because it actually has. ill report back in a few days again to see if there is any difference.

again many thanks scott. the rom is nice! you never cease to amaze me brotha.

Ran into another problem with the 21015 build, PocketShield will not run. I get an error with something about not having a valid certificate:

Code:

The file ''pckshdControler' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
Is there a way to just disable the certificate check?

Tried to install 2 different versions and a clean newly downloaded version, both through UC and manually, no dice.

Yeah, with all the information people are finding out, like doing the SDCONFIG, and other ROM/Kitchen stuff, where are they getting this information?

Is there some secret underground Microsoft TechNet for mobile developers? How are guys figuring out all the commands and how to do things? Are there inside sources leaking this information?

I don't have those answers, but more importantly we are hi-jacking the purpose of this thread. You might want to ask that question in Slueth255's thread at XDA, you might get decent answers.

No technet for ROM's sorry.

ASk questions, search and experiment. I did all of those except ask questions. I just tried things... Been doing this for years... Just not publicly until last nov.

Take from that what you will... sorry it's not more concrete info.

Ive been reading (catching up on thread all morning) almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.

FYI: Regarding the alarm issue, I'm still on SSK1.5M 20931 That's right a flash from the past.. anyway about the alarm issues....

We reported Klaxon alarm was NOT working at that time. ( also the Seismo app) then proceeded on our quest for a new WORKING alarm. G-Alarm cab is what we tried out.

G-Alarm Results: It did the same thing as being reported here. "No morning alarm and a frozen phone" I removed G-alarm and went back to installing a working Klaxon cab that is still playing nice with S2U2.

Have not flashed yet! been contemplating about using C2 with/21015.
Still looking for that working "sym" key on our slide out KB. so moving slowly with caution before flashing over to 21015.

Still looking for that working "sym" key on our slide out KB. so moving slowly with caution before flashing over to 21015.

Works fine. You just need the HTC Keyboard installed. I dont use that thing. For 8 megs of ram i can make my own symbols

That's what they mean....been talking in PMs a bit..we want to split the HTC keyboard to keep that SYM key functionality and not suck up 8MB of RAM.

The only problem is that seems to be buried in a DLL file...one thought was to maybe remove the graphics except for the sym one and use the registry to disable the other SIP options...hmm...

Hmmmm

Somone is going to hack the DLL. Do you know off the top of your head which one yhas the Sym Key coding?

Anyone using this kitchen on a Sprint TP (I am assuming "yes")? Just curious... what are you using for your pagepool settings? I got mine on 20 and seems pretty good. I know this has been debated in many other threads time and time again, but I am just curious what everyone (or most) building w/ SSK is using.

Lets not argue, just kind of a poll.... ;)

I don't know which one for sure....in your split out _OEM_HTC_Keyboard folder, the most likely one is ezinput.dll...since the others reference T9...it could also be SIP_GTapp.exe that looks for the SYM key press?

And it's also entirely possible it's nothing in that folder at all, and it just installs some complimentary components to something already in the main files.

I am in my very early stages of poking around and am quite over my head  But I am a very fast learner...I was going to dig into it seriously tonight after work.
