YEs and no, not sure if its newer but the drivers are now modules instead of dll files. This alone shoudl help improve performance.

I have a Preview ROM coming soon. I am still fine tuning it. I hope to have a link by the end of the night. Some changes on GPS and want to verify with more people. When I upgraded the modularized drivers they allow us to use GPS like "normal" as we no longer have to select COM4. Live Search and Google Maps no longer additional configuration. The down side is VZ Nav no longer works. So after I confirm this GPS change I will see if it is possible to get VZ Navigator working again.

Using that UC app, I think will install them into the windows directory.

I am pretty sure SDConfig/UC drops the files into \Program Files\xxxxx\xxxxx not in \Windows\

Hey Bob,

I remember the same post from FormerPalm you're talking about... but i think it has to do with where the cab wants to be installed.

I just did a reflash today, and looking at my "Programs Folder" i do see some of my UC'ed apps there, but not all... so it has to do more with where the app's cab is telling it to go.

But changing this and re-cab'ing can be a bear... this all goes back to our original discussion on the subject i believe.

Hey Scott, speaking of OEMs.

I have an app that uses the SQLce... i made myself a new ROM in the kitchen today, and SQLce is listed in buildOS... but after the flash and install of my app it could not find SQL for the db... do you need to initialize SQL after the install? or have you messed with it much? Ultimately i just installed the SQL cab and all was well.

I dont want to take you away from your tasks too much, but didnt know if this was an easy fix you knew of.

Thanks.

Let's say I wanted to try my next flash and go back to installing each app manually. Am I better off installing to my class 6 sd card or to device and is there a good rule of thumb for what apps are better to be installed to device if I want to do it this way?

I decide where to put apps based on 2 criteria
1)Do I want it with the SD card removed.
2) If it's in the "Startup" folder, does it need to be operational before the SD card is fully read.
If the answers are NO, they go on the SD card. If the answer is YES, then it goes on the Phone.

personally, and honestly... we have so much space for apps now, i dont see an issue with installing to the device anymore... in the olden days this was not good because space was such a commodity! not really true anymore.

what is a concern is what former brought up about everything just installing willy-nilly into \windows and lagging the system because of search time........ but that's a whole other issue and debate.
