But yeah, I noticed this with SSK 1.2 (which I'm still running). You can't ignore incoming calls. When you try to, it just mutes the ring, but the call is still connected and will ring the full number of times on the callers end, before going to Voicemail. Hope this one gets fixed with 1.5!

I'm not having that issue in 1.2
Calls go directly to VM after hitting ignore.

Though, i did install S2A... so it is possible that is what causes it to function correctly... as i noticed that the settings under:
Settings->Personal->Phone->Advanced
also changed after installing that app.

I honestly cant remember how it acted pre-S2A.

Any phone-related wierdness *may* be attributable to the bug in the XIP (ver 1 and ver 2, used in SSK1.2 and one or more of the ROMs generated from that). If so, it *may* be fixed with XIP ver 3.

Re: -=+Feb 1+=- *SSK 1.4 Beta 4* +VZW and SPRINT+ - See OP! {CE OS 21109} Kitchen and

FormerPalmOS and Scott - I just downloaded the new XIP that FormerPalm posted and have just now cooked and flashed a rom with it using SSK 1.2. So I can guinea pig it for you

The first test (and I know this is probably not recommended), will be if it will accept a backup made on the previous ROM I was running (which was SSK 1.2 exactly how it was released from Scott, with minimal items cooked in). I made the backup using SK Tools and am about to restore it now. I HOPE that the backup will restore and be bug-free as this would be nice not to have to set up all my stuff again!

But anyways I will be taking the phone to work with this new ROM and will try to let you guys know ASAP if I run into any problems. If I DO get any funkiness, I'll do a hard reset and just run the phone as-is without any apps for a while and see if the funkiness is reproduceable and will report on that if it is.

FormerPalm - what differences should I look for running the ROM like this vs. running a ROM just straight from SSK 1.2 as it was released? Speed increase? More memory? any fixes?

EDIT: Already noticed one difference... I set the PP to 12 which is how I ran the last ROM, but I end up with ~1 MB more available RAM, 108 vs. 107. Also, \Windows\ loads up in about one second flat now!! Fastest I've ever seen that!

Scott,
I've been running over a day now with a 0MB Pagepool, no problems so far. You might want to consider making the Sprint version 0MB by default...

Testing would be great. Your backup/restore plan should work as well - if all you changed was the XIP but otherwise cooked with the same kitchen selections.

I've lost track of which XIP version Scott used in the kitchen, but if you have 1MB more memory, I'm fairly sure you are comparing version 1 to version 3. There should be a slight speed-up but not significant. However, any load of a filesystem directory should be faster the first time. Second time it would be the same speed. 12MB is a good pagepool if you have lots of apps cooked in. I have all the HTC bloatware but nothing else - I'm testing with 10 and it seems to be good.

No go on restoring a backup from ssk 1.2 onto ssk 1.2 with FormerPalm's new XIP. I get stuck at a black screen on bootup. Cooked the rom with the same OEM's as I had previously (I keep it fairly light, no manilla).

So... everything else seems ok, but should I just hold off on setting up the phone all over again? Is the benefit of the newer XIP worth it? Or should I just go back to default ssk 1.2 and restore my backup?

I have seen similar issues before (and also with google). I think that the empherical data is not being correctly read or updated. I had this problem a couple of years ago on a trip. I shut off the GPS receiver in VA, and tried to start it in FL....it wouldn't shift locations...Mfr said I needed to do a "Cold start"....to force it to load the most current data....(this probably would be in the HTC GPS tool. I recently had the same problem in Google, only my location hadn't changed. I opened my GPS Nav program, had it locate my current position (mainly to prove it was working) and I went back to Google and it was able to find my location.

I am currently having other issues with google. It will either track me for about 5 minutes and then it will either lock up, or shut down completely. Haven't solved that one yet.

CRAP!!! I just figured out what I screwed up. There are two copies of os.nb.payload in the ZIP file. Ignore the one in the ROM folder - replace it with the one in the root of the ZIP. The correct one is size 3200, the wrong one is size 3456 bytes.

Also, make sure to copy all the XIP files to the right places:

os.nb.payload in ROM
boot.rgu in ROM\XIP
.VM folder in SYS
.ROM folder in SYS

Make sure the kitchen is running g'reloc.exe (it will say relocating modules). If it still doesn't work, go back to the .VM and .ROM from the kitchen.

I will upload a new ZIP to the XIP thread.

To reproduce this issue, just turn Bluetooth on and you will see the issue. This must be coming from splitting the OEMs. We saw a portion of the bluetooth issue solved when I found the icons for the bluetooth in the HTC Enlarge Titlebar.

Scott, can youcheck your OEMs to see if there are any other files that could be associated with bluetooth floating around?
