Re: [3-9-09] KK's Loaded ROM v1.8 Sprint and Others [OS 5.2.21015 Build 21015] [UC]

install went smooth. i even installed the BBExtreme5 theme over top without issue.... there seems to be a little bit of a conflict with KKs ROM though. as i understand it, TF2 is not supposed to have the keyboard popup on startup, but this still happens for me....so something seems to be hanging around from the TFHD. other then that, everything seems to be "fine"

but as others have pointed out there are issues...most are small and someone else posted MightyMikes review which is a good summary, thought i'm sure many more will pop up.

dealbreakers for me:
1. texting is broken on cdma
2. i can't seem to get the programs tab to appear a CAB is included to add it, but i haven't had success with it
3. it crashes a lot on the people tab sub-screens so unless you have someone in your favorates or they're one of the top15 alphabetically, you have like a 5% chance of actually being able to call them with it.
4. it's the laggiest version of TF i've used

this isn't technically a dealbreaker, more of an annoyance...it is NOT uninstallable. i wish i knew that before i installed.....

all that being said, it has great potential and i can't wait for a more complete/stable release...the additional functionallity is awesome. words can't describe how heartbroken i was when i tried to send a text on that sweet interface and got the sim card error... the new stock tab is awesome, as is the ability to reorder tabs. not that i'd ever really use it, but having landscape is pretty cool.

hopefully they make progress on the CDMA text issue because that is huge...but i have a feeling this will be near the bottom of the list in their proirities as most of the xda-dev community is GSM and near the top in complexity...who knows, maybe Sprint will bless us with a proper CDMA version of it in the next official update. but i won't be holding breath for that.

you can change the send pic limit of arcosft....if you download the cab i posted yesterday then you you can set the size limit to 4.9mb

I'm using Arcsoft (included in this ROM in the cab folder) as my MMS client.

Re: [3-9-09] KK's Loaded ROM v1.8 Sprint and Others [OS 5.2.21015 Build 21015] [UC]

I've been running it for a day so far. I haven't had any problems with this one exception. I just got home and went to plug it in. A warning popped up and said it was about to turn itself off and I should save anything I was working on and asked if I wanted to continue. I've never seen that before.

I also had one appointment change the time from 9am to 10am. However I'm not sure which ROM did that. I flashed another one very early this morning and then reflashed with this one. I've learned that I cannot live without the Rhodium Menu Enhancement, so I must have a rom with 21xxx at least. FingerMenu is okay, but the newer menu enhancement really rocks! I love it! A full day with the ROM tomorrow will be a true test for business use.

I have sent text messages without a problem and installed several cabs. I'm not sure what issues 'yerp' encountered. I do get the keyboard to pop up upon reboot, but it goes away. It didn't seem to lag for me, but tomorrow will be the real test. I'm a power user when it comes to this phone. TF3D2 seems okay. The stock is the only thing that's really added here. I added the Dow Jones just to test it out and it works.

Live Mesh works on this ROM as well. It didn't work properly on Juicy's 4.7 rom. It would run once and then not run again. So far ... I like it. Let's see how the battery does tomorrow and I'll let you know.

Re: [3-9-09] KK's Loaded ROM v1.8 Sprint and Others [OS 5.2.21015 Build 21015] [UC]

I played with Rhodium TF3D this evening. It is a little buggy but overall a wonderful product. I tested with the "beta" release and the offical "beta" will be out later tonight or tomorrow. I will put that into my rom and release a test version... Monday? Tuesday... not sure.

I am too tired to work on it now. Spent the weekend painting my sons bedroom. (Heck I haven't even see the final episode of BSG yet.)

I highly recommend if you curious... install the TF3D and play.

ok... a couple things... i dont know if this is happening w/ anyone here. but i checked out the main pandora post and a couple people are having this problem too. not everyone but i was wondering if anyone else is getting the 30 sec play, then switches to a different song. it gets annoying cuz most of the time i get only the first verse and then it cuts to a new song.

they were saying its probably the vga thing. but i was wondering if there was a configuration fix to this. i want to use last fm too so ill sign up for that. but i already have my stations for pandora.

also... kev... i was wondering if you can put audio gateway back in. i like it a lot, its a great way to have a bt mono music headset w/o spending $120 for the stereo. (great for work)... if its already in, I can't find it in the programs. or anything like that.

thats all the suggestions. other than minor neverminds. like putting oz im in the same folder as palringo and beejive. more g-sensor games. not sure about wmwifirouter... probably don't really need it.

oh and how do i change the action button in the home page to phone?

thanks for the help, and thanks for reading my suggestions. and great job on the rom.

The Pandora issue... try this, turn on your wifi and connect using that and see if it plays full songs or not. It worked for me which leads me to believe it is a CDMA thing possibly. (Or just the way Sprint connects).

one suggestion for the next rom version. as I am hard reseting my phone now (installed TP2 TF3D and did not like it), I noticed that omniano takes FOREVER to load during the customaization process.

Could this program be moved to an optional cab just like Sprint TV? Most of us probably won't use it if we do its just a cab file to install.
