Same thing. Is this supposed to provide a different onscreen keyboard? Because i only have the same existing keyboard options as before. If its the SIP, should I try installing different ones to see if any of them fix my hardware keyboard issue of not working?

Does your keyboard completely not work when on a custom rom or is the key mapping messed up or just slow?? did custom roms work for you before the keyboard repair?

Well I was using Merdin's Rom for the longest and it was fine, then I went to reflectionists rom and it was great but then the phone started freezing when going from the detailed view of a friend's text to the general overall view of everyone's text so I thought I would try a different rom. Now what's happening is that I would text and if the keyboard is working during that hour lol it would type fine until I pressed backspace then it would freeze for a few seconds and then pick up with a few of the letters i pressed afterwards. It would also sometimes get stuck - as if i held down a letter and it typed it many timessssssssssss (like that lol).

So I thought I would take it in to sprint again in hopes of getting TP2 lol?
But when I flashed back to stock, keyboard still doesn't work til i do a 2nd soft reset after all customizations run through and reset the phone itself. Then keyboard seems to work fine.

After using stock - I tried flashing back to any 6.5.1 rom such as this rom or even RZ Baseline or Sense 2.5 and the keyboard seems to be spontaneous - sometimes it will work, sometimes it wont, the wont part is more common - especially when just finishing the customizations.

I dont know what it is - even installing that SIP given to me a few threads earlier didn't do anything. I wonder what's going on with the phone (had it for almost a year probably and just got a new keyboard installed 2 weeks ago). Maybe its ROM proofing itself now lol

I've been trying to get a 28002 SYS going in my Kitchen, but not having luck.

I thought that between ripping some parts of RZ's baseline (re-organizing for Calk's VK, of course), and adding what appeared to be missing bits (checked agains 23502

I've never really added my own sys (except for pre-digested by Tmartin - thanks!), so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong and what all I need to look out for. I've tried following the VK tutorial on xda, but I can't seem to follow it, perhaps the language barrier...

Would be grateful for a boiled down, step-by-step of the major points. I don't need my hand held too hard, I'm relatively comfortable with this sort of thing, but I feel like I'm working from a blank slate right now

I got a little farther with the 28002 SYS this time by working it from scratch from Da_G's download, but I'm getting an error right after the screen calibration screen: error: check htclog (can't read the last part, seems cut off perhaps), and the TPs locked up after that. Reflashed a few times, no luck. 23506 works just fine, of course...

how are you importing the new sys into the kitchen? all i do is drop the new sys in the sys folder, the msxipkernel into the rom / shared folder and the oemxipkernel into the rom / touch pro folder. never have any problems with a build... i never try to recmod (da-g usually handles that) and usually end up with a total of 485 modules. also i set the page pool to 12mb.

the only difference is i have a sprint touch pro and perhaps the verizon models are a bit more sensitive to changes in the .xip

That's what I did.

Must be oemxipkernel - I was copying it from previous builds as I thought it was the same. I'll try from the XIP dump, see how that goes...

My TP is a Sprint model, just running it on Verizon network.

Thanks captblaze for the tip. I re-imported all the SYS files for 28002 and now it's working fine. 28002 w. Manila 2.5, running great.
