Hey Calkulin -- out of curiosity, does selecting the following options in the kitchen and leaving everything else at the defaults result in exactly your 23506 release ROM, or do you make other changes beyond that?

REAL WM 6.5 AKU - ENABLED
DEVICE: TOUCH_PRO
EXT BUILD: 6.5.X
XIP BUILD: 23506
SYS BUILD: 23506
PAGEPOOL=0 (If I understand correctly this causes 6.5 roms to set it dynamically? Is this what you use in your release ROMs or something else?)

Does one need to do anything extra w/ the files/modules or editors?

Normally thats all you have to do, but I'm one of the few that it didn't work correctly for out-of-the-box.
- also, the kitchen default pp is 6. I put mine at 20 but I forgot about 0, maybe I'll give that a go. thnx.

edit- O.o I just got 23506 to build. Just removed a few of the fancy app addon EXTs

just installed the new 6.5.1 rom and so far so good. first thing im curious about is how do i the minla theme on this one. the one that comes included is a little bland imo

Also, another note, Ive actually thrown away and re-unpacked the 7zip file several times to make sure i had the "out of the box" selections only and still no luck.

Sorry i cant help to much, i tore the kitchen apart and put a lot of newer or older mods so i could run the new manila 2.5. on 23506. What errors are you running into?

when you say "work", do all your apps rotate? or only manila? are you just using the sensorSdk or are you using changeScreen or something as well?

Ok, so here's what I've figured out -- there are definitely some serious differences between Calk's pre-built 23506 release ROM and what happens when I build it myself in the kitchen with those options and the default packages. Specifically:

1. Wrong lockscreen: Calk's 23506 ROM has the new WM 6.5 lockscreen with working notification sliders, but when I build it in the kitchen I get the old style (no sliders or notifications) lock screen.

2. EzInput stuck on XT9: in Calk's 23506 ROM EzInput is set to "ABC" mode and works fine, but when I build it in kitchen it's set to XT9. If I switch it to "ABC" it switches back to XT9 immediately once I type a single letter.

3. GrooveFish hangs on search: in Calk's 23506 ROM Groovefish works normally, but when I build it in kitchen it will open but it hangs/locks up entirely when I try to do a search. Have to either soft reset or kill it with task manager.

Anyone know how to get the kitchen to build a working ROM like Calk's official 23506 release that doesn't have these problems? Is there just some option/setting I'm missing?

For item 1) see my post a page or two back. I posted an app.dat that should fix the lockscreen

2) Use ezInput 1.5. for working xt9, qwerty, and compact qwerty. Or 2.0 for working qwerty and xt9. Or 2.1 for working qwerty

Appreciated, but I'm really trying to figure out how to get all of this to happen in the kitchen as I assume Calk built his release ROMs using the same kitchen. Also for EzInput I left the kitchen set to the default of "EzInput 2.1" along with all the other default packages when I built and I still have the problem with it flipping back to XT9.

I'll check out your post about the lockscreen though; thanks.

Nope, no problems here at least -- whether using the release ROM or building with the kitchen. I'm using two separate email accounts: one Exchange/ActiveSync, and one Gmail/IMAP. Both seem to work fine and I can open/reply to emails on 23506 ROM.
